Syniverse's Sandra Rosa Named to Tampa Titan 100 for Second Consecutive Year
Rosa's repeat selection reflects her continued impact on workplace culture and inclusion at Syniverse, as well as her leadership in building high-performing teams through transparency and data-driven action. She is part of a distinguished group of leaders who have been reselected through a competitive process that highlights sustained excellence.
"This honor belongs to the people who've engaged with the culture we're building — those who have asked hard questions, raised ideas, and believed in where we're heading," Rosa said. "It also allows me to stay connected to other leaders across Tampa who are navigating similar challenges, and that perspective helps shape how we continue to lead at Syniverse."
Since her first Titan 100 recognition in 2024, Rosa has led the evolution of Syniverse's global culture strategy, which is grounded in human connection and powered by employee engagement. She launched a "Continuous Listening Strategy" that replaced the former once-a-year engagement survey with a new cadence of two to three surveys annually, complemented by deep-listening "Culture Connect" forums to gather actionable feedback.
She also introduced quarterly storytelling platforms, launched a global women's network, and piloted a women's mentorship program that connected a small group of director and senior director-level women with C-suite leaders and senior vice presidents. Lessons from the pilot are now informing plans to expand the program more broadly. Her direct engagement with employees in India, Luxembourg, Costa Rica, and the United Kingdom has helped shape programs that reflect diverse needs and deliver measurable impact.
"Sandra's leadership has made culture a core part of how we operate," said Andrew Davies, CEO of Syniverse. "She has built a strategy that reflects how people actually work, not just how we think they should, and her approach shapes how we lead and make decisions across every level of our organization."
Rosa's commitment to empowering others extends well beyond Syniverse. She chairs the board of The Concilio, a Dallas-based nonprofit that unlocks opportunities for Latino families and serves on the board of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), which helps high school students to turn ideas into businesses through experiential learning and mentorship. Most recently, she joined the board of Wheels of Success, a Tampa-based nonprofit that addresses transportation barriers for working families and single mothers.
The Tampa Titan 100 recognizes executives who exemplify exceptional leadership and community impact. This year's honorees will be celebrated on Oct. 30 at The Motor Enclave in Tampa. Collectively, this year's Titans and their companies employ over 235,000 people and generate more than $56 billion in annual revenue.

Over 100 JCPenney stores sold: What happens now?
(NEXSTAR) — More than 100 JCPenney stores will soon have a new owner. Boston-based Onyx Partners, Ltd. has entered into a purchase and sale agreement with Copper Property CTL Pass Through Trust to buy 119 JCPenney properties, according to a press release. The $947 million all-cash deal is expected to close before September 8. Somewhere between $928 million and $932 million will be distributed to JCPenney's creditors, principal financial officer Larry Finger said this week, USA Today reported. Onyx Partners, JCPenney, and Copper Property did not immediately respond to Nexstar's request for additional information. However, in a statement to USA Today and other outlets, a spokesperson for JCPenney said all impacted stores will remain operational as the deal 'represents a change in landlord.' 'Tariff rebates' proposed: How would they work? of bankruptcy by mall owners Simon Property Group and Brookfield Asset Management in December of that year. The 123-year-old retailer previously trimmed its footprint with 138 closures in 2017, according to the Associated Press. The retailer did its best to bounce back, announcing in 2023 that it would spend more than $1 billion by the end of this year to revive stores, the Associated Press reported. Planned improvements included moving checkouts to a single area, brighter lighting, fresh paint in stores, and an upgraded online shopping experience. Nonetheless, several JCPenney stores have closed since. That included more than half a dozen stores that shuttered before Memorial Day this year.

LeBron James and Maverick Carter meet with Nikola Jokic's agent about starting a new league
A proposed international league described as the F1 of basketball gained attention over the weekend when Misko Raznatovic, the agent for Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, posted a photo on Instagram of him meeting in shorts and bare feet with LeBron James and the Lakers star's business partner Maverick Carter on a yacht off the coast of the French Riviera. Raznatovic accompanied the photo with an intriguing comment: 'The summer of 2025 is the perfect time to make big plans for the fall of 2026! @kingjames @mavcarter The post triggered speculation that perhaps James and Jokic could team up on either the Lakers or Nuggets, but more likely it suggests James has more than a peripheral interest in the new league. Front Office Sports reported in January that Carter was advising a group of investors trying to raise $5 billion to jump-start the league but that James wasn't involved. That may have changed. So what's the league about? Early discussions are of a touring model with six men's and six women's teams playing in eight cities, none of which are likely to be in the United States. Investors include the Singapore government, SC Holdings, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, a Macau casino operator, UBS, Skype founder Geoff Prentice and former Facebook executive Grady Burnett, according to the Financial Times. Reports have linked VC firm Quiet Capital, tech investor Byron Deeter and Hong Kong-based Galaxy Entertainment to the effort. Investors are leaning toward not allowing players in the league unless they cut ties with the NBA, making the model somewhat like LIV Golf — the professional circuit funded by (PIF). A better comparison in terms of format and scale might be Formula 1 Racing, which holds 24 races a year across five continents. Raznatovic's involvement would be key. His Belgrade, Serbia, agency BeoBasket has a partnership with Excel Sports Management and represents dozens of top European players, including Clippers center Ivica Zubac. The EuroLeague is currently recognized as the world's second-best basketball circuit, but can't come close to paying players NBA-level salaries. If Raznatovic's social media post is an indication, the new league could launch as soon as the fall of 2026. Until then, fans wanting an alternative to the NBA can check out Ice Cube's tour-based Big3 basketball league, which makes its single stop in Los Angeles on Aug. 9. The LA Riot, coached by Nick Young and starring Dwight Howard and Jordan Crawford, will play the Boston Ball Hogs at the Intuit Dome at 1 p.m. PDT.
