
Be aware of heavy police presence in Calling Lake: RCMP
Athabasca RCMP are asking the public to avoid an area of Calling Lake, Alta. due to heavy police presence at a residence there.
Around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, police sent a release advising that the residence did not pose an 'ongoing risk to the public,' as 'the threat is currently contained.'
They are asking that residents avoid the area and follow the directions of officers there.
They also ask that people don't post photos of police on social media until after the incident is over.
Police said an update will be given when available.

(Brent Lale/CTV News London) Inspector Jeff Ordronneau with the London police told CTV News that emergency services were called just after 1 p.m. on Sunday for an altercation between two men. 'We arrived here and found one male suffering from serious life-threatening injuries,' Ordronneau said. 'The male was transported to Victoria Hospital with those life-threatening injuries. He has since succumbed to those injuries, pronounced deceased.' The London Police Service confirmed one suspect is in custody. CTV News spoke to multiple witnesses who wished not to be identified, who were outside near the busy intersection after the altercation. They said they witnessed paramedics working hard with compressions to revive the victim. 'Our commitment is to a safe community. We continue to ensure that the citizens of London are safe, and we do our best to investigate these and hold those accountable,' said Ordronneau. Not many more details could be provided, as the investigation continues. However, Ordronneau did confirm that the weapon used was a knife. There are no other outstanding suspects at this time.
