Brahim Diaz turns down Saudi clubs, renews with Real Madrid
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 26-year-old attacking midfielder has agreed to all terms of a new contract with Real Madrid, with the deal now close to completion. Despite tempting proposals from abroad, Diaz remained committed to staying with the Spanish giants.
Last season, he made 31 La Liga appearances—16 as a starter—scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists.

With a market value estimated at around €40 million, Diaz is widely regarded as one of the most promising Moroccan talents in European football.

High earners dominate lending market The report indicates that borrowers earning more than MAD 10.000 ($1000) per month accounted for 60% of the total loan amount granted in 2024. Paradoxically, this high-income group maintains the lowest debt ratio at 31%, suggesting they borrow more in absolute terms but remain within comfortable repayment limits. Meanwhile, the report found that the 30-40 age group represents 26% of all borrowers, while those over 60 account for 24%. However, people aged 50-60 carry the highest debt burden, with an average ratio of 39%. It also showed that a concerning 32% of individual borrowers carry debt payments exceeding 40% of their income in 2024. Among this heavily indebted group, 38% have debt ratios between 40% and 50%. Government workers and private employees make up the majority of those with excessive debt burdens, representing 68% of borrowers whose debt payments exceed 40% of their income. The slight improvement in overall debt levels offers modest relief, but the concentration of high debt ratios among certain professional groups and age brackets reveals ongoing financial stress for significant portions of Morocco's borrowing population. From Algiers, Trump's Advisor reaffirms Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara
US Senior Advisor for Africa Massad Boulos gave an interview to the Algerian daily El Watan, during which he reaffirmed the Trump administration's firm position on the Western Sahara issue, dampening Algerian expectations. «Secretary of State Rubio reiterated [on April 8, following his talks with Bourita] that the United States recognizes Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara and supports Morocco's serious, credible, and realistic autonomy proposal as the only basis for a just and lasting resolution», Boulos stated. «The United States continues to believe that genuine autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty is the only viable solution», he emphasized. «The Secretary reaffirmed President Trump's call for the parties to engage without delay, using Morocco's autonomy initiative as the sole framework for negotiating a mutually acceptable solution. The Secretary also made clear that the United States would help facilitate progress toward that goal». Boulos added, «I appreciated the opportunity to speak directly with President Tebboune and Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf about the United States' commitment to a long-awaited peaceful resolution and our joint efforts to achieve it». A Setback for Algiers After his meeting with President Tebboune on July 27 in Algiers, Boulos avoided confirming to the press whether the Western Sahara issue had been discussed. But his remarks to El Watan, made on an Algerian platform, dealt a blow to Algerian hopes. Authorities in Algiers had pinned high expectations on his visit, hoping to secure a diplomatic win regarding the Sahara. Ahead of the visit by Trump's son-in-law, both chambers of the Algerian Parliament passed a new law reforming the investment framework for the mining sector. The legislation restricts public enterprises to holding just 20% of shares in unexplored mineral deposits, leaving the remaining 80% open to foreign investors, mainly American ones. This move came shortly after President Tebboune hosted delegations from Chevron and ExxonMobil on June 24 and 25. During his visit, Boulos also met with Energy Minister Mohamed Arkab. Hopes had been running high since Boulos's interview on Al Arabiya a week after the joint statement signed on April 8 by Marco Rubio in support of Morocco's autonomy plan. Vertical partners with Aciturri, active in Morocco, for VX4 airframe
Bristol-based aerospace manufacturer Vertical Aerospace announced on Monday a long-term strategic partnership with Aciturri Aerostructures, which operates in several countries including Morocco, to manufacture the airframe for its VX4 electric and hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Under the agreement, Aciturri will supply and engineer the entire airframe, including the wing, empennage, pylons, and fuselage, for both the pre-production and, subject to certification, commercial versions of the VX4, according to a press release issued Monday. Aciturri brings nearly five decades of aerospace manufacturing expertise to the project, having contributed to major aircraft programs for Airbus, Boeing, and Embraer, and more recently to eVTOL platforms for Eve Air Mobility and Lilium. The company will also provide concurrent manufacturing engineering to enable efficient and scalable VX4 production. The partnership forms part of Vertical's broader «Flightpath 2030» strategy, which focuses on long-lead parts procurement and strategic industrial collaboration. It follows Vertical's expanded partnership with Honeywell and its recent milestone of completing successful airport-to-airport test flights, the press release reads. Aciturri entered the Moroccan market in September 2023 through the acquisition of GOAM Industrie, a high-precision aircraft engine component manufacturer based near Casablanca.
