BBC Antiques Roadshow filmed at Cartwright Hall in Lister Park
Seven camera crews were in the park for the ticketed event, with the venue set to be featured during three episodes set to air later in the year.Antique jewellery specialist Susan Rumfitt, a Harrogate-based jewellery specialist on the show, said the thrill of recording the programme "never gets old"."It's just such a wonderful atmosphere and I just feel so grateful that [attendees] will stand out in a queue for potentially hours," she said. "To see what they've got, and to - most of the time - make their day, but occasionally ruin their day - generally everybody walks away very happy!"
Shabana Bashir, who lives in Bradford and came along to watch the filming, described it as a "brilliant" experience."The weather is absolutely beautiful and it's a proud moment because you want to be a part of the Antiques Roadshow," she said."Now that it's here and it's down the road from where we live it's just another thing for us to be connected to."
Martin Gardner came from Hebden Bridge to get a valuation on a violin. "To be honest I'm not thinking about money," he said. "Obviously I'm imagining it's a rare 1850s violin, but it's probably not."He added: "I'm just interested to see if they know anything more about it."Suzy Lee, also from Hebden Bridge, said: "I work in Bradford, it's a great city and it's got lots going on."This is our favourite gallery and park so it's great having the roadshow here."The show made its debut on BBC One in 1979 and is now in its 48th series.

Tesco launches limited-edition birthday cake sandwich inspired by Victoria sponge: ‘Get it while you can'
A brand new limited-edition sandwich launched by Tesco has divided opinions as the supermarket giant tells shoppers to 'get it while you can'. The Birthday Cake sandwich has been launched for four weeks in 1,000 locations across the UK. It can be purchased alone for £3, or as part of Tesco's popular meal deal offer for £4 alongside a drink and snack (£3.60 for clubcard members). It has been released to mark the 30th anniversary of the launch of the Tesco Clubcard, the retailer says. The sandwich 's ingredients bear resemblance to a Victoria sponge – a popular birthday cake option. Between two slices of brioche-style white bread, it contains full-fat soft cheese, seedless strawberry jam, sprinkles, and vanilla frosting. Tesco says the sandwich was developed over the course of nine months by its innovation team, describing it as 'an all time favourite treat, in an all time favourite deal.' Nutritional information for the sandwich shows that it contains 515 calories with 8.4g saturated fat (42 per cent of an adult's reference intake) and 31.5g sugar (35 per cent of reference intake). The intriguing product from Tesco comes after the success of M&S's strawberries and cream sandwich which was a viral sensation in June, becoming the supermarket 's best-selling sandwich in the two days after its launch. It was inspired by the popular Japanese 'furutsu sando,' which sees fruit fillings and cream put between two slices of pillowy milk bread. Tesco's new birthday cake-flavour offering is less precedented, however, and has seen shoppers divided. Popular Manchester-based food reviewer John's Snack Reviews (@johns_snackreviews) told his 26,000 followers that they should 'run to Tesco' after he tried the sandwich – but others are less convinced. Meanwhile, online creator Bella Hill (@ said the sandwich's filling looks like 'coleslaw,' before telling her 125,000 followers 'no, don't do that.' However, she then admitted the aftertaste 'wasn't too bad,' comparing it to a Victoria sponge cake. Another reviewer, @tipscostoflivingcrisis, told his 102k followers: 'This isn't good for you at all, but everyone deserves a treat now and again.' After trying it, he described it as 'disgustingly tasty.' Violaine Barthe, brand manager at Tesco said: 'With 3.1 million sandwiches sold in Tesco each year, sandwiches make up a big proportion of Clubcard purchases and so there was only one way to celebrate Clubcard turning 30. 'The Birthday Cake sandwich is a celebration not to be missed and we can't wait to hear the nation's feedback.'

Three regional airports across the UK to get new airlines and holiday destinations
MORE flights and new holiday destinations could be coming to three UK airports. The airports of Exeter, Bournemouth and Norwich have all been sold as part of a £200million deal set to close later this month. 5 5 The three regional airports are operated by Regional and City Airports (RCA) which is entering a new partnership. It has been revealed that investment group ICG has agreed a deal to buy the three airports at a fee of £200million. It's not bad news for passengers though as ICG has revealed plans on expanding flight routes out of all three airports - and possibly new destinations too. The managing director at ICG said that a key part of the company's plan would be to deliver on "growth" that the airports offer. Andrew Bell, Chief Executive of Regional & City Airports commented: "Regional & City Airports has flourished into one of the leading UK airport groups and a high-performing enterprise. "We are now ready to accelerate further – with the help of our new partner, ICG. Across our networks, it will be business as usual, with the same outstanding team and vision, boosted by renewed momentum to drive our continued growth, innovation and sustainability in regional aviation." Which destinations or new routes will be offered is yet to be confirmed Currently, Exeter offers flights to 27 destinations including cities in Greece, Spain, France as well as the Channel Islands with airlines like Ryanair, TUI and Aer Lingus. While Exeter is a popular airport in the south of England, bosses say it could manage even more passengers. Steven Wiltshire, the airport's managing director told the BBC that Exeter Airport could take as many as 1.2 million passengers per year. Which is 400,000 more than the airport currently sees. World's biggest airport to open by 2030 with six runways and 120million passengers a year 5 5 From Bournemouth, passengers can fly to 48 destinations including places like Palma, Girona, Faro and Antalya. Bournemouth hosts the airlines Jet2, Ryanair and TUI and last year saw 1.1 million passengers through the airport. Passengers heading out of Norfolk are able to book flights 19 destinations including Alicante in Spain, Faro in Portugal and Malta. Airlines include KLM, Blue Islands, Loganair and since April 2024, Ryanair too. The budget airline began offering flights out of Norwich Airport for the very first time last year with the possibility of adding more. Last year, the airport had 430,000 passengers through its doors. On the other side of the world, construction has started on King Salman International Airport in Saudi Arabia. It's set to open in 2030, and will be the size of 14,000 football fields. The mega-sized airport will be built around the existing King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. When finished, the extension will be 57 square kilometers with 12 of those reserved for shopping. Passenger numbers will increase to 120 million passengers by 2030. Love Island champs Toni and Cach reveal how they'll spend £50k winnings as they beat Shakira and Harry
TONI Laites and Cach Mercer have revealed what they'll spend their £50,000 Love Island winnings on. The couple were crowned the 2025 Love Island winners last night, beating off competition from runners-up Shakira Khan and Harry Cooksley. 3 3 3 In a shock twist, strong favourites Yasmin Pettet and Jamie Rhodes came in third place. Ahead of their victory, Toni and Cach spoke to former Islanders and Aftersun hosts Indiyah Polack and Amy Hart. When asked what they'd spend the £50k on, Cash replied: 'I've already got what I want, money's just a bonus.' And Toni shared exciting holiday plans, adding: 'I'll take my mum on vacation, as well.
