UAE global model in empowering People of Determination: Nahyan Bin Mubarak

In his speech, Sheikh Nahyan emphasised that the performance was a testament to the creative potential of People of Determination, showcasing their ability to express themselves in remarkable ways.
He stated, "We believe that art and music are universal languages that transcend borders and bring people together, fostering noble values of tolerance and coexistence. What we witnessed today is a reflection of these values, which we all strive to instil in our society."
Sheikh Nahyan also highlighted that supporting People of Determination is not only a duty but a collective responsibility to enable them to demonstrate their talents and contribute effectively to society.
"The UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, places People of Determination at the heart of its journey towards progress, believing in their capabilities and their active role in building the future."
He noted that the country's leadership has worked to establish pioneering policies and initiatives that ensure an integrated environment for People of Determination, providing them with opportunities for education, employment, and innovation.
Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, Chairman of the Future Rehabilitation Centre, stated, "Music and art are powerful tools for overcoming barriers and enhancing communication among individuals. This performance is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students and their trainers."
Mowfaq Mustafa, Director of the Centre, underlined that the centre's priority is the care of People of Determination. He highlighted the collective effort of the teachers, assistants, and administrators in creating the theatrical production aimed at developing students' skills and motivating them to achieve more.

Share your UAE story! Filipinos invited to join writing competition celebrating community, coexistence
Are you living or working in the UAE and want to share your story about your life, experiences, or connection to this country? The UAE is inviting everyone, including citizens and expatriates of all ages, to share their stories through the national initiative 'What the UAE Means to Me'—a writing competition launched by the Ministry of Tolerance & Coexistence, in line with the declaration of 2025 as the 'Year of the Community.' Participants can submit creative writings such as short stories, articles, Nabati and classical poetry, or letters and reflections that express their unique experiences and what the UAE means to them. Entries can be written in either Arabic or English. This is particularly meaningful for the Filipino community in the UAE, one of the largest and most active expatriate groups contributing to the country's growth and development. During the Philippine Independence Day celebration in Dubai last June, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, specifically encouraged Filipinos to take part in the competition. 'We expect that many of the most moving and powerful entries will come from the Filipino community,' the minister said. 'Those of you who arrived with a dream and built a future—from mothers and fathers raising families, from nurses and teachers, from innovators and caregivers, and from artists and engineers. Your stories matter and the rest of us would love to hear from you,' His Excellency said. The Philippine Embassy in the UAE has since echoed this call, actively encouraging Filipino residents across the Emirates to participate in the competition and share their unique perspectives and journeys in the UAE. Entries will be accepted until the end of November 2025 through the Ministry of Tolerance & Coexistence's official channels. Prizes range from AED 250 for children ages 6 to 12, AED 500 for youths ages 13 to 18, and AED 1,000 for other age groups, while winning submissions will be published in both Arabic and English. Special celebrations will honor outstanding works, with winners announced during the Human Fraternity Festival in February 2026.

Sandooq Al Watan's summer programmes attract 50,000 school, university students
Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of Sandooq Al Watan, stated that the third summer programmes, which commence tomorrow and run until July 31, will attract 50,000 school and university students from across the emirates. Sheikh Nahyan said that the programmes — held in 54 venues across government and private schools, as well as cultural and youth centres — aim to reach 50,000 participants from school and university students. He emphasised that these programmes embody the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in building a strong and sustainable national identity that resonates with the younger generations, serving as both a shield and a motivation for progress. He confirmed that the ultimate goal is to build future generations who believe in their national identity, are proud of their Arabic language — "the language of the Quran,' and who embrace values of belonging and loyalty through a noble message delivered in innovative ways. He also noted that the programmes will offer rich content through hundreds of entertainment, sports, artistic, and knowledge-based activities. For the first time this year, more than 30 theatrical performances will be presented by a select group of UAE creatives and artists on the summer programmes stages. In addition, hundreds of events related to Arabic calligraphy, heritage, storytelling, creative games, and daily competitions with instant prizes will be organised-alongside a diverse range of sports games.
