DMCC witnesses 13% rise in Singaporean companies
The announcement was made during DMCC's first-ever roadshow on the ground in Singapore as part of its efforts to attract Singaporean businesses to Dubai, according to a press release.
DMCC entered into a partnership with Hawksford, the international business services provider, to streamline company setup in its district.
Hawksford will provide advisory and registration, accounting and tax support to businesses, attracting new companies to DMCC, particularly from the technology, innovation, and sustainability sectors.
Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, said: 'Our first in-person Made For Trade Live roadshow in Singapore comes at a time of accelerating cooperation between our two nations, with bilateral trade reaching $18.70 billion last year.'
'This momentum is echoed by a 13% rise in Singaporean companies joining DMCC over the past 12 months, bringing the total to nearly 400, accounting for more than half of all Singaporean businesses in the UAE,' he added.
The CEO noted: 'As our partnership deepens, our new agreement with Hawksford as our local partner will further reinforce DMCC's position as the business district of choice for Singaporean firms seeking global expansion from Dubai.'
DMCC is currently home to more than 25,000 companies from 180 countries, covering every sector and industry.
The district contributes 15% of Dubai's annual foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows and represents 7% of Dubai's gross domestic product (GDP).

Mideast Stocks: Most Gulf stocks rebound on earnings, US-Japan trade deal
Most Gulf stocks rebounded on Wednesday, buoyed by corporate earnings announcements and optimism following U.S. President Donald Trump's trade deal with Japan, which raised hopes for additional agreements before an impending tariff deadline. Trump said on Tuesday that the U.S. and Japan had reached a trade deal that includes a 15% tariff on U.S. imports from Japan. It followed an agreement with the Philippines by which the U.S. will collect a 19% tariff rate on imports from there. While the increasing imposition of tariffs around the world poses risks to global economic growth and oil demand, the recent U.S.-Japan deal helped ease investor concerns and supported oil prices. Saudi Arabia's benchmark index advanced 1.3%, led by a 1.1% gain in Al Rajhi Bank and a 2.3% increase in Saudi National Bank, the country's largest lender by assets. Earlier this week, the duo reported a rise in quarterly earnings. The Saudi stock market may experience a solid rebound if earnings releases continue to be positive and external pressures diminish, said Milad Azar, market analyst at XTB MENA. "A potential trade deal with the European Union, with the August 1 deadline approaching, could also provide a boost." The Abu Dhabi index jumped 1.2%, with First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), the United Arab Emirates' largest lender, surging 5% - its biggest intraday gain in a month - after beating second-quarter profit estimates on strong revenue growth. Elsewhere, Bank of Sharjah soared 10%, a day after posting a sharp rise in half-yearly profit. Among other gainers, Space42 advanced 1% after securing a $695.5 million facility to fund next-generation UAE satellites. Dubai's main share index finished 1% higher, snapping a three-day losing streak, led by a 2.9% jump in top lender Emirates NBD (ENBD), as the bank is slated to report its quarterly earnings on Thursday. Qatar stock index edged 0.4% higher, touching a fresh two-and-a-half-year high, with most sectors closing in the green. Outside the Gulf, Egypt's blue-chip index rose 1%, continuing its ascent to record highs, with Commercial International Bank rising 1.5% following an increase in quarterly profit. SAUDI ARABIA jumped 1.3% to 10,984 ABU DHABI rose 1.2% to 10,296 DUBAI climbed 1% to 6,086 QATAR gained 0.4% to 11,186 EGYPT added 1% to 34,125 BAHRAIN increased 0.3% to 1,950 OMAN eased 0.3% to 4,765 KUWAIT inched up 0.2% to 9,296 (Reporting by Amna Mariyam and Ateeq Shariff in Bengaluru; Editing by Tasim Zahid)

Saudi business delegation arrives in Syria eyeing $4bln in deals
Saudi Arabia's investment minister led a business delegation travelling to Syria on Wednesday, where they were expected to sign deals worth around $4 billion as part of Riyadh's efforts to support the country's post-war recovery. The Gulf kingdom has been a crucial supporter of interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa's government, which came to power after toppling longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad in December and is now seeking to rebuild Syria after a 14-year civil war. Saudi investment minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, who brought around 130 Saudi businesspeople to Damascus, is set to hold meetings with Syria's leadership ahead of a two-day investment conference opening on Wednesday, according to people due to attend. Saudi Arabia has shown interest in Syria's energy and hospitality sectors, as well as airports, a diplomat and a Syrian businessman familiar with the matter told Reuters. The two countries are also expected to launch a joint business council, said the Syrian businessman. The investment conference was initially scheduled to take place in June but was delayed due to the war between Iran and Israel. It is going ahead this week despite sectarian clashes in Syria's southern city of Sweida that have left hundreds dead. The violence is a reminder of the lingering instability in Syria, even as foreign investors explore opportunities there. Companies, many from Gulf states and Turkey, have expressed interest in rebuilding Syria's power generation capacity, roads, ports and other damaged infrastructure. Syria has signed a $7 billion power deal with Qatar and a $800 million agreement with UAE-based port company DP World in recent months, while U.S. energy firms are also set to draw up a master plan for the country's energy sector. For its part, Saudi Arabia, along with Qatar, paid off Syria's World Bank arrears, opening the possibility of new lending. Syria's al-Sharaa made his first trip abroad as president to Saudi Arabia in February. And the kingdom's Crown Prince and de-facto ruler Mohammed Bin Salman successfully lobbied U.S. President Donald Trump to lift sanctions seen as holding back private investment.

With award wins in the first half of 2025 totaling Dh13.9 billion, and a backlog that stood at Dh49.9 billion by the end of June 2025, NMDC Energy continues to pursue opportunities that align market demand with its long-term strategy, whereby it continues to build its pipeline of projects, which reached Dh66 billion by the end of the second quarter. In Q2 2025, revenue grew 21 per cent year on year to Dh4.4 billion and a net profit of 12 per cent to Dh366 million, supported by sustained momentum across core EPC and industrial operations. NMDC Energy's 400,000 sqm fabrication yard in Ras Al Khair, Saudi Arabia, became fully operational during the quarter. The facility strengthens the company's offshore EPC and modular construction capabilities across the region, supporting both current delivery and future growth. Mohamed Hamad Almehairi, Chairman of NMDC Energy, said: 'Our progress this quarter demonstrates NMDC Energy's pivotal role in building regional industrial capability at pace and at scale, as we charter a strategic path that emphasizes future-ready initiatives and targeted growth. Ahmed Salem Al Dhaheri, CEO of NMDC Energy, added: 'We continue to build precision and scale into our operations. We advanced local manufacturing partnerships, expanded regional fabrication capacity, and brought one of the Gulf's most advanced yards online. These steps position NMDC Energy to undertake more complex EPC work – faster and at a greater scale.
