Darth Vader's Main Lightsaber Set for Auction in Rare Opportunity for ‘Star Wars' Fans (Exclusive)
The character's screen-matched primary dueling lightsaber that was used in the films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi is set for auction from Propstore this September in Los Angeles. The item was held onscreen by Star Wars actor David Prowse and stunt double Bob Anderson and has a presale value estimate ranging from $1 million to $3 million.

This lightsaber is said to be the only hero lightsaber from the original Star Wars trilogy to ever hit an auction. The Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction coincides with this year marking the 45th anniversary of the release of The Empire Strikes Back.
'Surviving genuine lightsaber props from the original trilogy of films are exceedingly rare, and Propstore is honored to present this historic artifact in our September sale,' says Propstore COO Brandon Alinger. 'It is a grail-level piece, worthy of the finest collections in the world.'
In August, the lightsaber will head out on a three-city press tour spanning London, New York and Beverly Hills. Also part of the tour will be a bullwhip and belt worn by Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, a hero close-up neuralyzer from Men in Black and Sauron's helmet for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
Back in 2022, Propstore sold a screen-matched model miniature X-wing fighter that is 22 inches long and was created for director George Lucas' original Star Wars film. The item went for more than $2.3 million.

Guillermo del Toro's ‘Frankenstein' Looks Absolutely Stunning
When Guillermo del Toro finally got the chance to make his dream project, an adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, you just knew it was going to be beautiful. Del Toro's films are known for a lot of things, and sumptuous production design and costumes are right near the top of the list. So, it almost goes without saying that a group of new images from the film are stunning, but these almost go beyond that. First revealed in an article by Vanity Fair and then released by Netflix, 10 new images from Frankenstein show characters, scenes, and interpretations that were previously kept secret. Here they are, all at once, and we can discuss a few of them in more detail below. Clearly, we could write tomes on the beauty of each of these images. The costumes, the sets, the locations. Each one is also framed in an interesting way that helps tell a story. But, we won't do that. What we will do, though, is fill in a few questions about who's who in these photos. Del Toro himself is just in that first image, along with Oscar Isaac as Dr. Victor Frankenstein. We see Victor in his lab in a later photo, too. The photo on the steps is of Victor as a child with his mother, and a little later, you see Victor again (played at a younger age by Christian Convery) with his father, played by Charles Dance. The photo of someone holding a photo is, indeed, Elordi's monster, who we see covered in a cloak further down. Mia Goth plays Elizabeth, Victor's soon-to-be sister-in-law, who both he and the monster become infatuated with. The second photo of Goth is with her fiancé, Victor's brother William Frankenstein, played by Felix Kammerer. That leaves the man in the top hat, an arms dealer played by Christoph Waltz, and that mysterious photo among the flowers. That's Sofia Galasso and David Bradley as a little girl and a blind man who are in the original book. What does it all mean? Sydney Sweeney's new collaboration with the fashion brand American Eagle has become the centre of a whole lot of debate. The Euphoria star unveiled a new campaign with the American clothing brand last week, to promote their line of denim last week. However, it didn't take long before social media clips to promote the deal sparked a wave of discomfort among many critics, largely due to some of the language that's used in the campaign. This is the story so far… What is Sydney Sweeney's new ad campaign for American Eagle all about? For American Eagle's autumn 2025 campaign, Sydney Sweeney can be seen sporting items from the brand's denim range, including a new pair of jeans inspired by her. The campaign also makes use of the slogan 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans', a pun on the term 'great genes'. In another, she explains: 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair colour, personality and even eye colour.' 'My jeans are blue,' she then quips, at which point a narrator delivers the line: 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.' Why are some people upset about Sydney Sweeney's new ads for American Eagle? Unfortunately this repeated use of the slogan 'great jeans', a pun on 'great genes', has put some viewers in mind of the language used by white supremacists and eugenicists. By centring a blonde, white star in a campaign referencing 'genes', some critics are accusing the brand of tone-deafness at best – particularly in the current political climate – and deliberately pushing a white supremacist agenda at worst. HuffPost UK has contacted representatives for both Sydney Sweeney and American Eagle for comment. Others are pointing out that Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle campaign doesn't mention one other important aspect of the product American Eagle's new 'Sydney Jean' features a butterfly detail on its back pocket, in a nod to domestic violence awareness, a cause which the White Lotus star has championed throughout her career. In fact, an American Eagle press release confirmed that '100% of the purchase price from 'The Sydney Jean' will be donated to Crisis Text Line', a charity in the US which aims to help those affected by domestic violence. However, the ads are also being criticised for not highlighting this key part of the campaign, with some saying its accompanying slogan is even more jarring as a result.
