Multan Sultans' owner Ali Tareen blasts PSL for Ali Zafar selection
Taking to Instagram, Tareen expressed frustration over PSL's repeated reliance on Zafar, writing, "Pakistan has so many amazing artists. Yet almost half of our anthems have been given to the same middle-aged dude, despite franchises raising concerns. They talk about making this the biggest PSL ever, yet keep giving space to the same recycled voices."
Repeated selection raises questions
The PSL announced on Tuesday that Zafar would perform the official anthem for PSL X, marking his fifth time as the league's featured singer. He previously sang "Ab Khel Ke Dikha" (2016), "Ab Khel Jamay Ga" (2017), "Dil Se Jaan Laga De" (2018), and made a comeback with "Khul Ke Khel" in 2024 after a hiatus following legal issues with singer Meesha Shafi.
Tareen's criticism reflects broader concerns over PSL's approach to artist selection. In the past, franchises have reportedly pushed for fresh voices, but the league has continued to bring back Zafar despite objections.
What's next?
Despite the backlash, PSL has not indicated any plans to reconsider its choice. A release date for Zafar's PSL 10 anthem has yet to be announced, while the tournament kicks off on April 11.

Ariana Grande speaks out for Gaza, urges immediate aid access: "Starving people to death is a red line"
Ariana Grande has joined a growing number of global artists raising concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. On Sunday, the singer shared an urgent message with her 374 million Instagram followers, amplifying the Red Line for Gaza campaign calling for unrestricted aid access. One of Grande's Instagram Stories read: 'Starving people to death is a red line. The Israeli government is crossing this red line before our eyes." Photo: Instagram Her statement comes amid intensified international pressure for intervention as the crisis worsens. The Red Line campaign is supported by multiple British and international organisations demanding immediate aid access for civilians. This is not Grande's first time addressing the conflict. In September 2024, she joined celebrities including Dua Lipa, Cate Blanchett, and Ben Affleck in signing an Artists4Ceasefire petition urging former US President Joe Biden to end the 'illegal supply of weapons to Israel.' Other high-profile figures including Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish and Lana del Ray have voiced similar concerns in recent weeks. With over 300,000 people displaced in the region, campaigns like Red Line are focusing attention on the urgent need for food, medical supplies, and safe humanitarian corridors.

Jessica Alba shows off toned figure after PDA sparks dating buzz with Danny Ramirez
Jessica Alba is embracing a new chapter in her life with a focus on fitness and romance. The 44-year-old Fantastic Four actress turned heads after sharing a series of Instagram photos showcasing her chiseled abs during a scenic beach workout in Los Angeles. The post comes just two days after Alba was spotted passionately kissing her new boyfriend, Top Gun: Maverick star Danny Ramirez. The actress, who filed for divorce from Cash Warren earlier this year after nearly 17 years of marriage, appeared energized and content as she walked a coastal trail dressed in a black sports bra with white trim, matching leggings, and a casual black cap. She completed her athletic look with black sneakers and stylish sunglasses, captioning the post, 'Sunday reset.' In addition to the scenic snaps, Alba shared video clips of her workout, which included stair climbs, a light jog, and a healthy post-exercise meal. Fans were quick to notice her radiant energy, which many attribute to her budding romance with 33-year-old Ramirez. The couple was first seen kissing last weekend and later spotted on a romantic dinner date and vacationing together in Cancun. A source close to the actress revealed that what started as a summer fling is 'taking a surprising turn,' though Alba is reportedly still taking things slow. Jessica and Danny's connection marks a fresh start for the actress, who remains focused on personal growth and family. She shares three children with ex-husband Cash Warren and has emphasized that co-parenting remains a top priority. As her romance with Ramirez heats up, fans are watching closely to see where Alba's fitness, family, and love life head next.
