He's the godfather of Microsoft's AI push. Here are his next big calls

Call it the parable of the snake.
Back in May 2023, Thomas Dohmke, the chief executive of the Microsoft-owned developer platform GitHub, gave a speech in Brazil where he performed what he thought at the time was a neat trick. Live on stage, he used GitHub's artificial intelligence tool for coders, called CoPilot, to create a simple Snake computer game, like we all used to play on our Nokia phones.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding: $50m nuptials ends with A-lister pyjama party, as crowds protest against festivities

Billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding extravaganza has ended with an A-list pyjama party, as a crowd of demonstrators descended on Venice to protest against the lavish festivities. Bezos, 61, and Sanchez, 55, celebrated their nuptials in the floating Italian city this weekend, with a VIP guest list comprising singers, actors and other famed attendees. However, protesters turned up in droves on Saturday to rally against the three-day spectacle, which some argue has exploited Venice, while sparking environmental concerns for others. At one stage, a large group of protesters could be seen on the Rialto Bridge holding a banner targeting the Amazon founder while flares let off bursts of red, blue and orange smoke. "No place for Bezos," the banner read. "Kisses Yes, Bezos No," another slogan read on shirts of some demonstrators. Planned protests had earlier forced Bezos and Sanchez to relocate their wedding to a more secluded part of the Arsenale, which is a historic shipyard complex in Venice's Castello district. Despite the campaigners, the celebrations carried on with a PJ bash on Saturday in honour of the newlyweds. Leonardo DiCaprio was one of the celebrities to don his best sleepwear fashion, with the Titanic star seen wearing a velvet burgundy ensemble paired with a black coat and cap. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates sported a set of black pyjamas, while Orlando Bloom was snapped in a black-and-white polka dot set. Sydney Sweeney opted for a strapless lace black gown, while Kim Kardashian boldly stepped out in lingerie with thigh-high stockings and nude pumps. Oprah Winfrey looked elegant in caramel-coloured silk pants and a matching top with feathered cuffs, while she held a dainty hand fan. Meanwhile, Bezos and Sanchez - who have been together since around 2019 and became engaged in 2023 - could be seen smiling as they waved to the crowd. The billionaire businessman looked dapper in an all-black suit while Sanchez stunned in a pink strapless gown with lace and beaded trimming. Sanchez, a former journalist, completed the look with diamond earrings and a black clutch bag which read "Mrs Bezos". The 55-year-old beamed as she waved from a balcony of the luxury Aman hotel, where she has been staying with her husband. Among other big names who attended the wedding celebrations were singers Usher and Ellie Goulding, as well as members of the Kardashian-Jenner family. NFL legend Tom Brady, Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner, and Queen Rania of Jordan were also present. Guests could be seen heavily protected by security guards throughout the festivities. During their nuptials on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore on Friday, Bezos and Sanchez exchanged vows in a 25-minute ceremony. The multi-day wedding event has reportedly come with a price tag of about USD $50 million.

Kate quietly holds A-list meeting after abruptly pulling out of Royal Ascot

IN LONDON Kate has made a quiet return to work with a very A-list meeting after cancelling her appearance at Royal Ascot. Royal-watchers were left disappointed earlier this week after it emerged that she'd had to cancel her scheduled appearance in the royal carriage procession alongside the King, Queen and Prince William at the iconic raceground, after also missing it last year due to her cancer treatment. Just days later, it's now emerged that Kate, 43, has privately resumed work duties, meeting with philanthropist Melinda Gates, the ex-wife of Microsoft founder and billionaire, Bill Gates, at Windsor Castle. The exact details of their discussion have not been disclosed, but according to Hello magazine, the Prince and Princess of Wales 'represented their Royal Foundation at the meeting, which focuses on areas including the early years and mental health'. Despite being on a positive trajectory since announcing her gradual return to public duties following the completion of her chemotherapy, there were concerns on Wednesday when Kate pulled out of the racing event at the last minute. She had already been listed to travel in the second carriage of the royal procession, alongside her husband. She appeared alongside her children in the carriage procession for Trooping the Colour recently. Despite pulling out of Ascot, Kate still had plenty of high-profile appearances last week, including Trooping the Colour and the Order of the Garter ceremony. It's also understood she'll take part in events associated with the French President and First Lady's state visit to the UK early next month. Back in January, she revealed she was in remission from cancer, which she had first publicly disclosed last March. Last September, she released an emotional video message, featuring personal footage of herself with William and their three children, opening up about the challenges they'd all been privately battling – but also proudly announced she had completed her treatment.
