The case pertains to the Piru Singh Govt Senior Secondary School in Jhunjhunu city, where Jamna Jhajharia was the centre superintendent. Monika, a student from Nangli, who took the exam there, took a blue copy of the OMR sheet with her instead of submitting it to the invigilator. After the exam ended, when the original and office copies of the OMR sheets were counted, one office copy (blue OMR) was found missing. Investigation revealed that the blue copy with roll number 3918105053 was missing.
The search for the candidate began, but by then, the student had left Jhunjhunu. A contact was established with her family, and she was brought back from near Ked in the Gudha area. Later, the carbon copy was submitted.
Errors have been occurring in exams held in the district over the past four months. Earlier this year, on Feb 2, the RAS pre-exam was conducted. At a centre in the Nawalgarh area, the paper bag was opened in the control room instead of the exam hall, leading to a commotion among candidates, with nine boycotting the exam. The investigation report found the centre superintendent and two observers guilty, and a show-cause notice was issued.
Then, on March 23, the EO-RO recruitment exam was held, during which a violation of RPSC guidelines was reported at a centre on Road Number Two in the city. In this exam, candidates were allowed entry three minutes after the scheduled gate closure time of 11 AM. In this case, the SP found six police officers guilty and suspended them, but they were later reinstated.
Two invigilators suspended
Jhunjhunu: Two invigilators of NEET UG 2025 conducted at the exam centre at Piru Singh Govt Senior Secondary School in Jhunjhunu city were placed under suspension with immediate effect by district collector Ramavatar Meena for alleged negligence following the directives of
National Testing Agency
(NTA).
As per NTA, the two invigilators—lecturers Urmila from Govt Senior Secondary School, Nayas, and Rajpal Singh from Govt Senior Secondary School, Dumra—violated points 12, 16 and 24 of Chapter-13 of the NTA guidelines dealing with confidentiality and fairness of the exam. tnn

1 2 Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana high court has issued a show-cause notice to the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) for "concealment" and being "manipulative" about its wording in an affidavit filed regarding the verification of documents of candidates selected for the post of junior engineer (JE). Upset over HSSC's action, the bench observed that courts generally tend to accept affidavits filed by responsible officers at face value. The instant case, if at all, is an eye-opener that even responsible officers fail to live up to the confidence and trust which courts repose in them, said the high court. "Clearly, it was a mischievous attempt on the part of the commission to deliberately choose misleading words to portray compliance despite being aware that the needful was not done. It is indicative of the extent to which statutory bodies attempt to distort facts to defeat justice," the court observed in its detailed order while indicting HSSC for contempt. During the hearing, the court noticed that earlier in 2017 and 2018 too, it had ordered the commission to conduct a verification of documents of all candidates to rule out any malpractice. However, in its reply dated March 15, 2023, the HSSC informed the court that process of document verification was undertaken in respect of all selections. However, on examining HSSC's reply, the HC noticed that the said process was ignored completely with respect to selections for the post of JE. After hearing all parties, the HC observed that prima facie, officials in the HSSC were guilty of having committed contempt of court and disobeying specific directions with impunity. "Needless to mention that the obligation to carry out biometric verification was not an executive decision, but was consequent upon a judicial order. In the absence of any such authority conferred upon the HSSC to sub-delegate such functions to the state govt, it was never open to HSSC to wash its hands off the performance of the said obligation by mere incorporation of a clause in the letter of recommendation," observed Justice Bhardwaj in its detailed order.

Chennai: Actor and MNM president Kamal Haasan has re-ignited the debate on sanatana dharma saying that only education can defeat sanatana. At an event on Sunday in Chennai organised by Agaram Foundation, an NGO founded by actor Suriya, Kamal criticised NEET and said laws can be rewritten only through education."Education is the only weapon to break the shackles of dictatorship and sanatana dharma. "Forgotten His Roots": BJP Seeks Kamal Haasan's Apology Over Sanatana Remark
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP has launched a sharp attack on actor-politician Kamal Haasan, demanding an unconditional apology for his remarks on Sanatana Dharma. At an event marking 15 years of actor Suriya's Agaram Foundation on Sunday, Mr Haasan had said that only education can crush the chains of dictatorship and Sanatana. BJP spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy hit out strongly at the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief. "Money and power have corrupted Kamal Haasan. He has forgotten his family's Sanatana roots. What he has said is not just against Sanatana Dharma, but against India and the majority of its people. He must apologise." Mr Haasan's comments came in the context of his criticism of the NEET exam, which he said had denied education - especially medical education - to many deserving students from poor and rural backgrounds in Tamil Nadu. "Since 2017, this law has denied education to so many children. Even Agaram Foundation can't do anything about it. Only education can give the strength to change the law... Education is the only weapon that can crush the chains of dictatorship and Sanatan. Don't take anything else in your hands - majoritarian idiots will defeat you," said Mr Haasan. Political parties in Tamil Nadu, including BJP's ally AIADMK, oppose NEET arguing it favours affluent students who can afford private coaching and denies opportunity for top-scoring poor students particularly those from rural areas who can't afford this, nor may have coaching centres. For almost a decade, the state has abolished any form of entrance tests and had made medical admission on the basis of class XII exams. In Tamil Nadu Sanatana Dharma is seen as discrimination on the basis of caste, including untouchability for ages, denying oppressed communities education and other opportunities. Kamal Haasan's remarks drew parallels to the 2023 controversy involving Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who had equated Sanatana Dharma with regressive caste discrimination and said it should be eradicated like mosquitoes that cause dengue and malaria. Multiple FIRs were filed then, though the Supreme Court later stayed further action. During the UPA regime President Kalam had given assent to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET, something now BJP wouldn't do. The saffron party however, maintains that NEET ensures transparency, meritocracy, and prevents the auctioning of medical seats.
