VIBE 2025 Set to Transform Industry-Specific AI Adoption in 48 Hours

Upekkha, the India-US accelerator that has backed over 100 SaaS and AI startups, has announced VIBE 2025 (Vertical Intelligence & BEyond), the world's first summit dedicated exclusively to vertical AI. Scheduled for 10-11 July 2025 at The Leela Palace, Bengaluru, and co-hosted with SaaSBoomi, this two-day flagship event will showcase how AI can move from concept to real-world deployment within just 48 hours.
VIBE 2025 in Bengaluru will unite 200+ AI startups and 100+ CXOs to deliver live 48-hour AI pilots, driving real-world impact across manufacturing, healthcare, energy, and more
'Walk in with a problem statement, walk out with a working AI pilot in 48 hours.' This bold promise underpins VIBE 2025's mission – to convert AI ambition into actionable outcomes.
'AI hype is cheap. Outcomes are priceless. At VIBE, a banker, a healthcare firm, or a manufacturer can frame a real problem on Day 1 and see a functional AI first pilot in forty eight hours,' said Prasanna Krishnamoorthy, Convener, VIBE & Partner, Upekkha.
VIBE 2025 features VIBE Pilots, the worlds first AI pilot festival. This 24-hour innovation sprint invites enterprise leaders to present live challenges from their strategic priorities. Pre-selected AI startups will build working prototypes to solve these challenges, with CXOs providing immediate feedback. From fraud detection in finance to inventory management in retail, these pilots are designed to lead directly to partnerships and deployments.
'AI destroyed the junior developer market and built one of the fastest categories in history, from nothing to $1.6B in ARR in AI coding in under a year. It is coming for verticals next. We are bringing 200 startups and 100 CxOs to VIBE Summit to shape how to navigate this,' said Thiyagarajan Maruthavanan, Convener, VIBE & Partner, Upekkha.
VIBE 2025 will feature headline voices such as Shekhar Kirani (Accel) and Pratik Pal (Tata Group) on India's $50 billion AI opportunity, and Shankar Maruwada (EkStep, Aadhaar) on the country as the AI use-case capital. Leaders from Renault Nissan, ABB, Airbus, and Accenture will cover AI in manufacturing. Banking, consumer-tech, healthcare, and insurance insights will come from Muthoot, Ujjivan Bank, Citi, Tata Digital, Sarvam.AI, Narayana Health, Dozee, HDFC Securities, HDFC Life, and MediAssist.
The summit opens with a keynote and masterclass by Simon Wardley on navigating AI's platform shift, and closes Day 1 with Prof. Saras Sarasvathy urging enterprises and entrepreneurs to co-create in uncertainty.
VIBE 2025 promises over 20 sessions featuring 50 speakers, with participation from 200 AI-native startups and more than 100 CXOs and investors. The event will include VIBE Pilots, sector-specific sessions across banking, insurance, manufacturing, health, energy, space, and consumer-tech, as well as the VIBE Awards, which will spotlight AI deployments already generating real revenue and impact. Closed-door CXO dinners and boardroom workshops will enable deep dives into data governance, regulation, and AI strategy.
'Satya Nadella recently called India 'the AI use-case capital of the world.' VIBE 2025 turns that headline into a market by matching domain pain-points with AI talent and capital in real time. We don't need another 10-year transformation roadmap. We need an AI pilot that proves itself in 10 hours. VIBE is where we're making it happen,' said Avinash Raghava, CEO, SaaSBoomi.
Unlike traditional AI conferences that focus on horizontal Gen-AI trends with slide decks and vendor booths, VIBE 2025 will deliver live 24-hour build sprints with pre-matched startups and CXOs, producing ready-to-deploy pilots and curated enterprise-startup partnerships. The summit focuses on delivering vertical AI solutions tailored for specific industries.

Rupee weakens by 46 paise to close at 85.85/$

Mumbai: The Indian currency weakened nearly half a rupee to close at 85.85 per dollar on Monday, from its previous close of 85.39/$1 as uncertainty about US tariff policies resurfaced with President Donald Trump's threat of an additional 10% levy on Brics countries. The rupee opened at 85.57/$1, and weakened till 86.03/$1 on Monday, before pairing its losses and closing at 85.85/$1, likely due to intervention by the Reserve Bank, traders said. "Markets were expecting something on the trade deal with the US, but nothing came up, and the BRICS statement deteriorated sentiments. We were the second worst performing currency in Asia, and due to potential RBI intervention, we erased some losses and to be the third worst-performing Asian currency," said Dilip Parmar, currency research analyst at HDFC Securities. Japanese Yen and the Thai baht were the two worst performing Asian currencies. Traders expect the rupee to move in the range of 85.50/$1 to 86.25/$1 on Tuesday, ahead of July 9, when Trump will unveil his new stand on tariffs. In a social media post, President Donald Trump stated a new tariff policy, calling for countries "aligning themselves with the Anti-American policies" of the BRICS developing nations to be charged an extra 10% tariff, with no exceptions to be granted. India, along with Brazil, China, Russia, South Africa are part of BRICS. The dollar index gained slightly at 97.6, from 96.9 previously. "The BRICS comment has put the India-US deal in jeopardy and we are awaiting clarifications from India-US on the matter. The rupee has fallen as the market is not expecting the deal to be done soon," said Anil Bhansali, head of treasury at Finrex Treasury Advisors.

VCs back AI startups to shake up Indian IT services industry

Academy Empower your mind, elevate your skills ETtech A new wave of AI-first startups is catching the attention of top-tier venture capital firms , as they look to back companies reinventing traditional IT services Accel , and Elevation Capital are among the country's top venture capital firms which are scouting for artificial intelligence (AI)-first startups to place early bets, several investors told application development and infrastructure maintenance to software testing and customer support, AI is beginning to fundamentally reshape services that have long relied on large human workforces, they said.'AI is making IT services non-linear and it opens up opportunities for startups to deliver services faster, cheaper and at a higher quality,' said Rajan Anandan, managing director at Peak XV Partners, which has evaluated several companies using AI agents to automate application maintenance, an area where big monies are spent shift isn't about replacing traditional IT services overnight, but rather building leaner, AI-enabled firms from scratch, said the VC executives ET spoke with.'We have created a map of everything IT services companies do and view each line of business as an opportunity for a new AI-native company,' said Anandan, adding that Peak XV is evaluating horizontal startups focused on cross-sector capabilities as well as vertical ones building AI-first solutions for specific industries, such as banking, insurance, healthcare and Venture Partners has already backed two startups focused on automating core IT services. Founder and partner Ritesh Banglani said AI is also disrupting knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) functions such as accounting, wealth management, and legal support.'Our belief is that India holds a special advantage in providing these AI-led services to the world. We know how to scale people-heavy operations and sell services – not just software,' he said. 'Our bet is that tech-first services startups will be able to build distribution faster than the incumbents can build technology. We have already invested in two AI-led services startups this year and look forward to funding several more.'Accel India is also bullish. 'By being able to price for the outcome, AI-first services companies can charge like services but earn like software,' said Anagh Prasad, vice president at the firm. 'Going forward, we'd continue looking for full-stack AI companies, especially in verticals like accounting, legal, insurance, as well as selective late stage services companies undergoing rapid AI to Krishna Mehra, AI partner at Elevation Capital, the transformation of IT and IT-enabled services is already underway and will accelerate in the next few years. 'We expect action across BPO, KPO, knowledge work, and customer support. Winners and losers will significantly change,' Mehra, who is based in the US, said, adding that even legacy IT firms may be targets for buyouts and AI-led investors taking early bets on startups looking to disrupt the nearly $300-billion IT services industry in India, they said the behemoths are not watching this from the had earlier reported that Japanese investor SoftBank is also eyeing buyout deals in India to push AI-led IT, BPO transformation.'Incumbent ITeS majors are hardly sitting out of the AI transition. Most companies are not only helping clients implement AI, they are also using it extensively themselves to improve productivity and speed of delivery,' Banglani investors are looking at backing teams that not only comprise AI talent but also bring domain expertise from IT services companies of dealing with large enterprise customers.A telling sign of the growing adoption of AI at large IT services companies is the widening gap between revenue and headcount growth. According to Nasscom, the industry grew by 5.1% in FY25 from the previous year, while its workforce expanded by just 2.2% – indicating a shift towards more tech-driven, less people-intensive operations.'The entry of AI in this sector would be very disruptive to jobs. There might be a lot of global rebalancing of the workforce but it's not all gloom and doom from a jobs perspective,' Elevation Capital's Mehra said.

AI infra firm RackBank gets land in Indore, Raipur for data centres

AI infrastructure startup RackBank is looking to expand data centres in tier-2 cities like Indore and Raipur to reduce its operational cost by 2–3x as compared to data centre hotspots like Mumbai, Chennai and Noida. The firm, which recently launched an AI cloud business unit called NeevCloud, has acquired six acres of land in Indore for an 18 megawatt facility and 13 acres in Raipur for a 100 megawatt facility, Narendra Sen, founder and CEO of RackBank and NeevCloud, told ET. These investments are supported by state governments of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh respectively in form of power subsidies and other benefits. To maintain competitive pricing for on-demand GPUs (graphics processing units), neocloud firms need to cut fixed costs and operational costs, especially because GPUs guzzle immense power and water. For instance, land costs in Raipur are Rs 30 lakh per acre, less than a tenth of Mumbai's rates, and operational costs are equally compelling, Sen explained.'In tier-1 cities, it costs Rs 50 crore per megawatt to build. We do it for Rs 25 crore in tier-2. State governments like Madhya Pradesh are also supporting data centre companies with single window clearances and dedicated power supply. Our delivery timeline is nine months, as compared to metro cities where it can be 24 months,' he added that RackBank's in-house immersion cooling system Varuna allows it to cut capital costs by up to company is aiming to raise Rs 700 crore debt to fund this expansion. This comes after it raised a $16.5 million (nearly Rs 138 crore) equity seed round in March 2025 from D-Street investors like Ashish Kacholia and Madhulika Agarwal.'We want to become the CoreWeave of Asia Pacific,' he said, referencing the US-based AI cloud startup that recently went public after a meteoric in 2023, NeevCloud currently operates a cluster of over 700 GPUs, including Nvidia H100, H200, MI300 and plans to add the latest Blackwell GPUs in Raipur soon. NeevCloud's model focuses on enterprise AI workloads, medical diagnostics and government partnerships. 'Hyperscalers like AWS and Azure dominate the general cloud, but they don't have enough GPU capacity in India. Startups are hungry for training and inference compute, and they're willing to switch providers,' said Sen. 'We're already seeing strong traction from AI startups and healthcare firms.' On the global front, NeevCloud is also setting up presence in Europe (Finland, Norway) and the US, partnering with local data centre operators to ensure compliance and reach.'Customers expect availability. If your site shows zero GPUs, they bounce,' said Sen. 'So we're launching regions in key markets to stay competitive.'
