'Green Bones' to stream on Netflix starting June 19
On social media Friday, GMA Pictures announced that the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 Best Picture will be available for streaming on Netflix beginning June 19.
"Green Bones," produced by GMA Pictures, is directed by Zig Dulay based on an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs.
The film follows prisoner Domingo Zamora (Dennis Trillo), who is notorious for the murder of his sister and her daughter. Now that Domingo is up for parole, the newly assigned prison guard (Ruru Madrid) takes a personal interest in making sure that he remains behind bars no matter what.
"Green Bones" bagged several awards at the MMFF 2024 last December. Aside from Best Picture, it also won Best Screenplay, (Ricky Lee and MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay winner Angeli Atienza) Best Actor (Dennis), Best Supporting Actor (Ruru), Best Cinematography (Neil Daza) and Best Child Performer (Sienna Stevens).
In January, "Green Bones" won four accolades at the 3rd Gawad Dangal Filipino Awards, namely First Best Picture, Best Actor (Dennis), Best Supporting Actor (Ruru), and Best Director (Direk Zig).

The "KPop Demon Hunters" fever has now reached SB19! On TikTok, the P-pop Kings shared a 13-second clip of themselves dancing to the song "Soda Pop" performed by the fictional boy group Saja Boys featured in the Netflix film "KPop Demon Hunters." Meanwhile, fans and even Netflix Philippines can't help but gush over SB19's mini-dance cover in the comment section. "Does the SB in SB19 stand for Saja Boys? Ginalingan n'yo as always," Netflix wrote. Lea Salonga was also credited as the voice of character Celine, a retired demon hunter who now guides Rumi, Mira, and Zoey in their journey as the next generation of demon hunters.
