Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office Day 11: Ashwin Kumar's Film Crosses Rs 100 Crore-Mark

Last Updated: Ashwin Kumar's Mahavatar Narsimha has entered the Rs 100 crore club, surpassing Kesari 2 and Jaat. Produced by Hombale Films, it's India's top-grossing animated film. Mahavatar Narsimha Movie Box Office Collections: Ashwin Kumar's Mahavatar Narsimha is on a dream run at the box office and it's not slowing down anytime soon! The mythological animated feature has officially entered the Rs 100 crore club in India, making it one of the biggest surprise blockbusters of the year. On its 11th day, the film has comfortably crossed the Rs 100 crore nett mark, holding its ground despite tough competition and weekday dips. More impressively, Mahavatar Narsimha has left behind some of Bollywood's big-budget releases this year, including Kesari 2 (Rs 94.48 crore) and Jaat (Rs 90.34 crore). The film, which is India's biggest animated release so far, picked up momentum over its first weekend and has only grown stronger with each passing day. By the end of its second Monday, it had collected around Rs 99.25 crore. As Tuesday began, it officially crossed the Rs 100 crore benchmark, making it a certified blockbuster. In its first week alone, Mahavatar Narsimha earned Rs 44.75 crore. The second weekend brought even bigger numbers with Rs 7.7 crore on Friday, Rs 15.4 crore on Saturday, and a massive Rs 23.4 crore on Sunday. Even Monday held steady with Rs 8 crore, bringing the total to just under Rs 100 crore before crossing it on Tuesday morning. This animated film's performance is even more impressive because it has outdone several big-star Bollywood films, all thanks to its strong storytelling, mythological appeal, and visual quality that has connected with both kids and adults alike. The film was also released in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, expanding its reach beyond its original Telugu version. Produced by Hombale Films and Kleem Productions, Mahavatar Narsimha has rewritten the record books, overtaking international hits like Spider-Man, The Incredibles, and Kung Fu Panda to become the highest-grossing animated film in India. The film follows the popular mythological Hindu legend involving Narsimha, the fourth divine avatar of Lord Vishnu, who was part-man, part-lion creature. God is invoked by Bhakt Prahlad, one of His biggest devotees, as the boy's uncle, Hiranyakashyap, tries to kill him. It is believed that Narsimha appeared from inside a pillar to assassinate King Hiranyakashyap. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the screenplay is penned by Jayapurna Das and Rudra Pratap Ghosh. Presented in five Indian languages, Mahavatar Narsimha has been edited by Kleem Productions and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai. The film retells the iconic story of Prahlad Maharaj, a young devotee of Lord Vishnu, whose unwavering faith ultimately led to the manifestation of the powerful Narasimha avatar to defeat tyranny. Then, before I started realising, I started doing print ads and TV commercials.' He added, 'I told them that I know that I am leaping in the dark. But imagine all those people who want to be in my position and see that I have been approached by a production company and I refused, imagine how angry they would feel… That's how I became an actor.
