Gwyneth Paltrow has been hired as Astronomer's 'temporary spokesperson' to answer the many questions received following her ex-husband Chris Martin's involvement in the company's kiss cam scandal.
The Hollywood star, 52, and the software company alike were praised for the 'brilliant' move and having a 'savage' sense of humour in the wake of the world's unexpected scrutiny over two former employees.
In case you've been living under a rock, Astronomer's CEO Andy Byron was caught in an embrace on a jumbotron at a Coldplay concert in Boston earlier this month with his HR chief Kristin Cabot before they both abruptly tried to hide.
This led frontman Chris to joke: 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy!'
Both have since quit their roles at the company after the clip went viral and sparked countless memes and jokes at their expense.
But Astronomer has had the last laugh in hiring actress and Goop founder Gwyneth for a parody video in an expert crisis management move.

The Shakespeare in Love star – who famously 'consciously uncoupled' from rock star Chris, 48, in 2014 – revealed in the surprise video on Friday night that she had been 'hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer'.
'Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days, and they wanted me to answer the most common ones,' she explained, brightly, before the video cut to on-screen text typing out the question, 'OMG! What the actual f—'.
The actress then leapt in to, um, definitely not answer that question, instead enthusing: 'Yes, Astronomer is the best place to run Apace Airflow.'
She added: 'We've been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation.'
'As for the other questions we've received,' the Oscar-winner continued, before on-screen text again popped up to wite out, 'How is your social media team holding—'.
The Sliding Doors actress again responded on an obviously unrelated note to advertise that yes, there was indeed still space at an upcoming conference Astronomer is holding in September.
She then signed off the video on Astronomer's social pages by thanking people for their interest in Astronomer and adding: 'We will now be returning to what we do best.'
'You got Chris Martin's ex-wife???!!! Savage,' commented Molly O'Shea on X, while Dan Go praised the video as 'marketing jiu jitsu' and another fan laughingly called Gwyneth's hire 'diabolical'.
'Whenever [sic.] was behind this idea should be the first to enter heavens pearly gates,' commented @empressatlantis as @tednotlasso added: 'CMO should be new CEO.'
'I want to hate on it but I cannot. Masterclass,' added Josh Pate.
'The Entertainment from now until the end of time,' tweeted @nearcyan while Sam Kampner suggested: 'Just another proof [sic.] that there's no such thing as 'bad publicity'.'
The kiss cam moment also resulted in a surge of interest in Coldplay's chart-topping music, with streaming up 25% on the band's tunes.
According to data from Luminate sourced by Billboard, in the five days before the Boston concert on July 16, Coldplay had 28,700,000 streams. This soared up to 35,700,000 in the five days after the scandal.
The clip was filmed by Grace Springer, 28, from New Jersey, who stood by her decision to share it online in the wake of the media frenzy, saying she had 'no idea' who the couple was and just thought she had 'caught an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and decided to post it.
She told The US Sun: 'A part of me feels bad for turning these people's live's upside down, but, play stupid games… win stupid prizes.
'I hope their partners can heal from this and get a second chance at the happiness they deserve with their future still in front of them.'

Roman Kemp banned from speaking to Hollywood star after interview prank backfired

Roman Kemp got off on the wrong foot with the A-lister with security being called in to remove hm. Roman Kemp has admitted that he's banned from talking to one huge A-lister after a car crash interview with the star that went very wrong. The 32-year-old confessed he was escorted out by security during a 2015 press junket with Jennifer Lawrence, 34 after a prank failed to land. ‌ He had been interviewing the Oscar winner as a part of her promo tour for her film Joy but explained he had not seen the list of pre-approved questions from his Capital FM producers before the cameras started rolling. Their discussion quickly became awkward when the actress provided short, clipped answers and said that the experience "sucked", barely engaging with the conversation. ‌ However, it was a prank gone wrong that appears to have sealed Roman's fate. The I'm A Celeb star had pretended to be a superfan and unveiled a fake tattoo of Jennifer Lawrence's face on his chest which reportedly caused the actress to call in security and have him removed from the room. ‌ Reflecting on the uncomfortable incident in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Roman wrote: 'Found this old picture of when I interviewed Jennifer Lawrence and for fun pretended to be a mega fan complete with a tattoo… She did NOT find it funny. I was escorted out by security and told I would never interview her again.' Roman, whose parents are Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp and singer Shirlie Holliman, wrote in follow-up post: 'Tbf still haven't had the chance to redeem myself or explain the situation to her…' ‌ During the exchange over a decade ago, Jennifer was visibly unimpressed by Roman's questions, which included asking her what her favourite type of cheese was. One moment saw him read her a poem supposedly written in her honour, prompting her to sarcastically reply: 'Wow, that was incredibly touching.' ‌ Things went from bad to worse when Ronan claimed to have a tattoo dedicated to her and began unbuttoning his shirt to reveal the fake inking. Jennifer responded, deadpan: 'Oh my god. Oh man, wow right over your heart. I would expect nothing less. I'm flattered and honoured, it looks so permanent. How did they get it so glossy?' Roman then explained how his dad is Martin Kemp and hinted that he would like to take her on a date to one of his dad's concerts. ‌ She replied, stone-faced: 'To meet your dad? Coolest date ever.' Despite the awkward exchange, Roman clearly took it all in good humour. ‌ Speaking about the experience on The Chris Ramsey Show in 2018, he called it his 'trickiest interview' to date. He revealed: 'She's not having the best day clearly. She hasn't said hello to me, she hasn't acknowledged me, she's just sat there on the phone like this… 'I've already sat down and said 'hi how are you?' and all this type of stuff, [she] just said nothing. ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! I was like, 'yeah I'm already in the questioning her'.' Recalling the hilarious moment when he unveiled the fake tattoo, he said: 'She said nothing after that and then the security guard got up and asked me to leave. 'I am now banned from interviewing Jennifer Lawrence.'

ITV drops all episodes of gripping crime thriller that fans hailed 'phenomenal'

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Another week, another true crime thriller for fans to dig their teeth into – this time with an acclaimed cast. The tense eight-episode drama, Under the Bridge, has finally landed on ITV for viewers to watch for free in the UK, and you are in for an emotional rollercoaster. The 2024 series stars Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone opposite Daisy Jones and the Six actor Riley Keough. Described as a 'haunting drama inspired by a tragic true story', we follow 'A writer and a cop investigate a brutal murder tied to a group of troubled teens.' Partially based on the book of the same name by Rebecca Godfrey (portrayed by Riley in the show), the story delves into the 1997 case of 14-year-old Reena Virk, the child of Indian immigrants, who attends an island party but never returns home. The Killers of the Flower Moon star portrays cop Cam Bentland. Securing a neat 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, the show has been widely praised by fans for its impactful storyline. 'I thought it was phenomenal and one of the only TV shows I have given a 10/10. I have trouble focusing [while] watching new shows, and I sat through this like a hawk,' Google reviewer Nevada Sassin said, calling Gladstone's acting 'raw and completely real'. User kg dubbed it an 'incredible show' they 'binged all at once' and Nelson agreed it was a 'great series about a horrible crime. All the depictions of the main protagonists are very well done.' 'Transfixed from the first episode! Heartbreaking true story and the characters and actors portraying them were all spellbinding, some you loved, some you detested which is a compliment to all the actors involved!' Gary Marsland shared. Yes, Under the Bridge is based on a real-life case of Reena Virk, a 14-year-old Girl from British Columbia in Canada who was beaten and drowned in 1997. It ultimately resulted in the sentencing of six teenagers, who would become known as 'the shoreline six'. The show, which also draws inspiration from Virk's father Manjit's 2008 memoir, has fictionalised aspects of the tale for the small screen, including the invention of Gladstone's character within the narrative. Over on X, user Hassan wrote: 'Just binge-watched Under The Bridge and it was great! Riley Keough, Lily Gladstone, and the supporting cast are phenomenal in this true-crime series… 'But it's the criminally underrated ARCHIE PANJABI who completely blew me away with her heartbreaking performance. What a talent!' 'This goes straight to my top 2024 TV shows. This binge-watching was a hell of an emotional roller coaster: from sadness, to anger, to frustration to the even the final acceptance and understanding,' Sandra echoed. More Trending In an interview with Variety, Gladstone opened up about the importance of portraying this story sensitively and with Reena at the heart of it. The indigenous actor, 38, said: 'You get a chance to love her. She's not just a young brown woman's body experiencing violence. This is a human being attached to a generations-long legacy in history. 'You feel the immensity of the loss when you see who she is in the landscape of her whole family and get to know her as a girl you could be friends with.' Haunting Netflix true-crime series about 'Satanic cult' killer races up chart

Mixing present-day interviews with previously unheard recordings, Conversations with a Killer: The Son of Sam Tapes examines David Berkowitz's mark on 1970s New York. Now 72, Berkowitz carried out a murderous 13-month rampage in the American city between 1976 and 1977, during which he killed six women and wounded eleven others. Armed with a .44 Special calliber revolver for most of his crimes, eventually he was arrested in August 1977 for eight shootings. He confessed to them all and was sentenced to six consecutive life sentences in 1978. Now, Netflix's new three-part series features audio of past interviews the killer did with Rochester Democrat and Chronicle journalist Jack Jones. It also contains a new interview with Berkowitz, who is serving a life sentence in upstate New York. As well as this, victims' loved ones and researchers shed light on this period in New York history. Reacting to the series on X, many fans have highlighted the new information it provides. @maoshisa1981 described it as a 'fascinating listen', adding: 'The unreleased Berkowitz recordings sound like a chilling deep dive into the case.' Meanwhile, @CriticSusan added: 'Conversations with a Killer: The Son of Sam Tapes may be one of their best true crime docu-series. @Netflix.' Towards the beginning of the series, viewers are shown how the Bronx native was adopted in 1953 before he became the '.44 Caliber Killer' and 'Son of Sam' due to the signature he left on letters at crime scenes and sent to media outlets. When Berkowitz was finally arrested and put on trial, he claimed his neighbor's dog, Sam, was possessed by a demon and commanded him to kill. But, in an interview from 1980 we hear how Berkowitz fabricated this story to create confusion and manipulate the media and law enforcement. A character playing Berkowitz also featured in another Netflix series by David Fincher called Mindhunter, which ran for two seasons. In June it was teased that the rudely axed series could be getting a Hollywood makeover for a film revival. There is a potential to bring back the show as not only one movie but an entire trilogy, with creator Fincher carefully vetting the scripts. More Trending Holt McCallany, who starred as FBI special agent Bill Tench, recently spoke to the Fight Club director. 'I had a meeting with David Fincher in his office a few months ago, and he said to me that there is a chance that it may come back as three two-hour movies, but I think it's just a chance,' he told CBR. 'I know there are writers that are working, but you know, David has to be happy with scripts.' View More » Conversations with a Killer: The Son of Sam Tapes is available to watch on Netflix.
