'TikTok Cult' pastor's home raided by cops in sex trafficking probe
A home connected to a " TikTok cult" pastor was raided by police as part of a probe into sex trafficking and other criminal activities.
The property partially owned by Pastor Robert Shinn was stormed by federal agents from the FBI, the US Postal Service, Department of Labor and IRS and several people were detained. The pastor was the subject of a 2024 Netflix documentary series called "Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult" but the identities of the people arrested are not clear. Officials reportedly raided the California home over allegations of sex trafficking, tax evasion, money laundering, mail fraud, and COVID-19 -related fraud.
The raided home was the same property featured on the Netflix show and the warrant is connected with the alleged cult in the docuseries, according to the Los Angeles Times. Helicopter footage from local station KTLA showed at least six people handcuffed, including an older woman and a woman holding a child.
Officials entered the home at 6am on Friday morning as a neighbour, in the Tujunga area, said he heard loud bangs, according to the LA Times.
The local said: "I was getting ready for work when I heard the flash-bangs go off. Then a loud speaker ... 'You need to come out, hands up.' All the neighbors came out to find FBI, Sheriff's Department and police taking up the whole area."
Shinn founded the Shekinah Church in 1994 and helped to create an LA-based talent management agency called 7M Films. This company has been accused of allegedly luring in dancers by telling them they will become famous on TikTok. Some of these dancers allegedly also worked for the church and recruited for the talent management company.
Four people who worked for 7M and were part of the Shekinah Church claimed Shinn manipulated and abused them. Some of these people also accused the pastor of sexual assault.
Shinn reportedly would call himself "the Man of God" and told followers in the alleged cult that his teachings would grant them salvation.
The Netflix docuseries follows former members of the Shekinah Church and how they escaped the alleged cult and rebuilt their lives afterwards.
A former member, Dancer Aubrey Fisher, claimed Shinn forced her to give the church 70% of her income - which allegedly included a 10% "man of God fee" for Shinn himself.
Another ex-member, Melanie Wilking, went viral in 2022 when she said she was trying to reach her sister Miranda and said she was "no longer in control" of her life. The sisters had a TikTok page that was made when they joined the 7M management company.
Shinn has denied claims the Shekinah Church and 7M are affiliated with one another. The alleged cult leader did not personally respond to the Netflix series but 7M released an Instagram post, at the time, which claimed the show referring to the group as a cult were "false statements", according to the LA Times.

Molly-Mae Hague 'can't understand what she's done wrong' amid 'fall from grace'
EXCLUSIVE: Molly Mae has had a tough few weeks after being trolled for being 'out of touch' and now a PR expert has claimed that the Love Island star could be losing her 'golden girl' status Molly-Mae Hague broke down in tears last week after being slammed, yet again, for being 'out of touch' by fans. Now, a pr expert tells OK! that they believe the golden girl's popularity is on the wane and her star power could 'all be over'. The 26-year-old, one of Love Island 's biggest success stories with an estimated net worth of £6m, had claimed on of her vlogs that she's done 'nothing fun this summer, despite taking several lavish holidays posted on social media. Most recently, she headed off on a family trip in her £86K motorhome, after which she confessed she felt 'overwhelmed' and had a 'breakdown', when her daughter Bambi, 2, who she shares with partner Tommy Fury, was overtired and screaming for hours. While some sympathised with the challenges of travelling with a little one, others were quick to criticise Molly-Mae for complaining, pointing out her affluent lifestyle and frequent luxury vacations, labelling the influencer and entrepreneur 'tone deaf'. Our mole claims that such posts really upset the mum-of-one, and the negativity can bring her down. 'She does get upset that she's constantly in the firing line from the public, but she also doesn't understand why because she doesn't feel like she's done anything wrong. She works hard and is proud of what she's achieved.' The mum-of-one hit headlines recently when she complained in a YouTube video that she hadn't done anything fun over the summer months. 'I said to a friend the other day, that I'm going to make it to the end of summer having not done one fun thing,' she said to camera. 'I haven't a life. That's not good is it. Summer will end and I've not done one fun social thing.' Some fans, however, were quick to point out several of Molly's outings this year; including trips to Dubai, a holiday to Disneyland, a city break to Budapest, their recent motorhome holiday to the Isle Of Man and attendance at high profile events such as Wimbledon, before which she spent thousands of pounds at Christian Dior to wear to the tennis tournament. Hitting back at the trolling she has received in a recent video, Molly claimed that she 'doesn't' care' about the backlash, but said it does make her 'nervous' to talk openly with fans. 'I don't care who tells me I am out of touch with reality or all this stuff that's going on on TikTok at the minute, I don't care I'm not going to not talk about it. 'I feel like I don't want to talk about anything controversial anymore because in the last video I said some things I probably could have worded better and even with all the motherhood things I'm talking about at the minute, it's just a lot.' Never one to shy away from her struggles, Molly has admitted to having a tough time with Bambi in recent months. She said in one YouTube video, 'I'm having one of those toddler mum days, where I question, 'am I actually cut out for this?' 'Every single thing I try and ask her to do, she will not listen to me... She hasn't eaten in like three days because she is refusing to eat. I'm finding it really hard.' Adding that Tommy seems to take parenting more in his stride, Molly admitted that it's 'tough'. Speaking of the recent backlash, PR expert Lynn Carratt believes Molly Mae is definitely at risk losing her 'golden girl' status. She tells new: 'Some of the things that she's saying are coming across as out of touch with reality. "Molly was the sweet, girl next door on love island, and she had a true love story with Tommy which people really bought into and was very likeable. Men fancied her, girls wanted to be her. She came across as an inspiration. Now, she's flying all over the world on private jets and sadly, it's just not relatable anymore." Lynn continues: "In the last year or so, it seems like s he's been falling from grace - her days at the top of the showbiz pile could be over." "She shouldn't have to hide her lifestyle or money because she's earned it, but at the same time, we're in a cost of living crisis. People don't always want to see influencers flying across the world in private jets." 'It is really hard for Molly being a working mum, as it is for all working parents. And it is good that she's being open about her struggles. But she needs to really think about a PR strategy to bring fans back on side." Molly rose to prominence on Love Island in 2019, where she met Tommy Fury, also 26, and came second place with the boxer, whose brother is boxing star Tyson. After the show, she signed a major deal with e-retailer PrettyLittleThing, eventually becoming their creative director while working with brands like Beauty Works and creating her own fake tan business, Filter By Molly Mae. She then parted ways with PrettyLittleThing to build her own fashion brand, Maebe, launched last year. Now, she has a hit Amazon Prime docuseries currently filming for season two and resides in a multi-million pound home in Cheshire with her and Tommy's two-year-old daughter Bambi. The couple, who got engaged in July 2023, announced their shock split last summer, before getting back together earlier this year.

American buys first Tesco meal deal and people have same comment about his choices
American, Kalani Smith, who regularly shares his experiences of British culture on social media, took a younger relative to Tesco for the first time where one thing left him confused An American teenager has expressed his shock at one particular aspect of British supermarket shopping after visiting Tesco for the first time. Kalani Smith, who hails from Tennessee, USA, regularly shares his experiences of life this side of the Atlantic on social media like a lot of Americans in the UK do these days. The TikTok user with more than three million followers regularly showcases his trips to restaurants and shops - offering his take on all things British from an American perspective. In a new video, however, he took along family member, Devon for the ride to pick up a meal deal and pick out any differences between shopping at home and abroad. "You get a main, a snack and a drink," Kalani informed Devon, who proceeded pick a sandwich. Intrigued by the unfamiliar Coronation chicken filling, the youngster added it to his basket before heading to the drinks. Taking up Kalani on his orange-flavoured Tango suggestion, the teen completed his meal deal with roast beef Monster Munch. Heading up the escalator in the superstore, Devon grabbed a can of Lynx Africa body spray - known back home under the Axe branding. Next, the pair visited the fresh produce section where they picked up strawberries, whilst over in dairy, the wedge-shaped packing of Edam left Devon a little bewildered. Still, the duo weren't done there, and it was the next item that caused the biggest stir. "Why aren't the eggs in the fridge?" a baffled Devon asked. To which Kalani told him: "They don't have to be. They just put them on the shelves, which I will say that when I first came here threw me for a loop. Now it's just normal for me, but it is still weird saying it." After taking their shopping home to their accommodation, it was time for Devon to tuck in. "It tastes like curry," he declared, after biting into his sandwich. "It's a weird mixture, it's not bad - it's just different." The lad appeared to be more impressed with the Tango, however, gulping it down and exclaiming: "Oh yeah! It's got a lot of carbonation, but it's perfect flavour." He concluded with the Monster Munch, meanwhile, describing the famous corn snack as "10 out of 10". Writing in response, one TikTok user joked: "That kid was destined for a British secondary school! I mean, straight up picking lynx Africa off the shelves? Come on now!" A second person added: "He chose exceptionally well. Good job that man." A third suggested: "Now you can get an ice cream or Pot Noodle with your meal deal. I think Pot Noodle would replace your sandwich or pasta or wrap and ice cream replaces the snack." Whilst a fourth praised: "Young legend having an open mind and just trying things."
