Nearly 19 tons of drugs destroyed in Yemen
The destruction took place in an open area on Tuesday, with security forces and officials from the Houthi-run Ministry of Interior overseeing the event. According to official statements, the drugs were seized during anti-smuggling operations conducted across several provinces since mid-2024.
Footage from the scene showed large piles of drugs set ablaze, with soldiers standing guard as thick plumes of smoke rose over the area. The operation was intended to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, and to send a message to traffickers operating in war-torn Yemen.
Officials stated that the destruction of the narcotics was part of a broader campaign to combat drug smuggling and protect public health, despite the country's ongoing conflict and fractured law enforcement systems.

Houthi Military Court Sentences Son of Former Yemeni President to Death
Sana'a — A Houthi-run military court in Yemen has issued a death sentence against Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh, the son of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, in a ruling that has sparked widespread political and legal controversy. The verdict, handed down by the Central Military Court in Sana'a, found Ahmed Saleh guilty of charges including treason, espionage, and large-scale corruption. The court also ordered the confiscation of his assets and the recovery of funds allegedly embezzled during his tenure as a senior government official and ambassador. Ahmed Saleh, who currently resides outside Yemen, did not attend the trial and was sentenced in absentia. Houthi media outlets described the ruling as part of broader efforts to 'combat betrayal and restore looted public wealth,' while critics argue the move is politically motivated and lacks due process. The ruling comes amid heightened tensions between the Houthis and factions aligned with the internationally recognized government, as well as lingering divisions within Yemen's fractured political landscape. Ahmed Saleh has long been viewed as a prominent figure within Yemen's former ruling elite and was once considered a potential successor to his father. His sentencing marks a dramatic escalation in the Houthis' campaign against former regime figures.

Yemen's Houthis Announce Drone Strikes on Israeli Targets
Yemen's Houthis announced a series of drone operations targeting sites within Israel. According to a statement from military spokesperson Yahya Saree, three separate operations were carried out: two drones were directed toward Jaffa, two toward a military site in Ashkelon, and one toward a target in the Negev Desert. Saree claimed that all five drones reached their intended destinations and described the attacks as precise and effective. The operations are framed as part of a broader Houthi strategy to pressure Israel to halt its offensive on Gaza and lift the ongoing blockade. These strikes mark what the group calls the 'fourth phase' of its escalation, which includes targeting vessels linked to Israeli ports regardless of their flag or ownership. Since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza, the Houthis have launched numerous drones and missiles in Israel's direction. This development coincides with an intensifying humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where more than 206,000 people have been reported killed since the start of hostilities—many of them women and children.

IDF Intercepts Houthi Drone Launched from Yemen
Israeli military announced it had successfully intercepted a Drone launched by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis. The missile, reportedly aimed at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, triggered air raid sirens across central Israel and Jerusalem, prompting civilians to seek shelter. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it was part of their ongoing campaign in solidarity with Palestinians amid the Gaza conflict. This marks the 66th missile launched by the group since the end of the Gaza ceasefire in March. Israeli defense officials confirmed that the missile was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force before reaching its target, and no casualties or damage were reported. In response, Israel carried out airstrikes on Houthi-controlled infrastructure in Yemen's Hodeidah port, targeting what it described as military assets used to stage attacks. The Houthis have vowed to continue their operations until Israel halts its offensive in Gaza and lifts the blockade. Meanwhile, Israeli officials warned that further provocations would be met with decisive retaliation.
