Actor Soubin Shahir was arrested in Kochi, allegedly in a financial fraud case related to the film Manjummel Boys. The court has granted anticipatory bail, and he will be released after recording his arrest, the Kochi police said. The police had registered a case against actor-producer Shahir and Shawn Antony, a producer, on a complaint by Siraj Valiathara Hameed that they had not paid him the share of the profit made from the movie, despite his contribution of Rs 7 crore towards its production. Hameed, in his complaint, had mentioned that the producer duo did not even pay him his share of investment for making the movie and that they transferred the profits to their own accounts. This was a violation of the investment agreement he had executed with the producing company, as per the Kochi police. Earlier in 2024, after the success of Manjummel Boys, the Enforcement Directorate launched an investigation into alleged financial irregularities by Soubin's Parava Films. On the work front, Soubin started his film career as an assistant director in the industry with Siddique's Chronic Bachelor (2003). He is known for his works in Charlie (2015), Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016), Kali (2016), Darvinte Parinamam (2016), Kammatipaadam (2016), Anuraga Karikkin Vellam (2016), Mayanadhi (2017), and Kumbalangi Nights. His first full lead role was in the film Sudani from Nigeria (2018) for which he won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor. In 2024, he played the role of Siju David in Manjummel Boys. He also produced the movie.

The actor wrote a heartwarming note and shared it on his Instagram Stories. The Telugu superstar informed his fans that he had wrapped the shoot and praised Hrithik Roshan. He wrote, "And It's a wrap for #War2! So much to take back from this one... It's always a blast being on set with @hrithikroshan Sir. His energy is something I have always admired. There is so much I have learned from him on this journey of War 2." The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and stars NT Rama Rao Jr and Hrithik Roshan in the lead roles. Recently, the makers of the movie shared posters featuring Jr. NTR, Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani. The poster showed Advani in all black, pairing an open long trench coat with leather pants. When the teaser of War 2 was released, Advani's fans were enthralled after they witnessed a never-before-seen bold look of their favourite star. Meanwhile, Yash Raj Films' War 2, will debut in IMAX theatres across major international markets, alongside its India release, on August 14. A special teaser for the IMAX release of War 2 has already begun playing in theatres globally.

The trailer shows Ahaan as Krish Kapoor, an aspiring singer, while Aneet Padda is a writer who pens lyrics for Ahaan's character. They gradually fall in love with each other; however, things take a bitter turn when Aneet's character threatens Krish with a knife and asks him to leave an event. Later, he's shown achieving stardom with his live performances. "I was honestly thinking about making something else before my path crossed with Yash Raj Films (the producers), which was looking for a young love story and was grooming Ahaan and Aneet to star in such a film." "I was blown away that here are two absolutely fresh new actors who have it in them to act, to surrender to a vision," he said. Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, said, "We were looking to tell a real love story that connects to today's youth by showing how deep and true their feelings, emotions and commitments are, and we are thrilled to have found Saiyaara." Saiyaara is set to release in theatres worldwide on July 18, 2025.
