Filmmaker Omung Kumar, known for films such as Mary Kom and Sarbjit, announced the cast of his upcoming romantic-action film last month. The film stars Harshvardhan Rane, Bigg Boss 18 winner Karan Veer Mehra, The Diplomat fame Sadia Khateeb and actor-singer Ipsitaa, who marks her acting debut with the project. Now, the makers have finally revealed that the title of the highly anticipated film is 'Silaa', along with a striking first-look poster featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Sadia Khateeb. The film will go on floors tomorrow, on July 1. Meanwhile, it has now been revealed that Karan Veer Mehra is set to play the antagonist in Silaa.
On Monday, Harshvardhan Rane took to Instagram to share an intriguing first-look poster of Silaa. The poster features him holding co-star Sadia Khateeb close, both with bloodied faces and visible wounds on their arms, as flames rage in the background. Sharing the poster, and revealing the title of the film, he wrote, 'The wait ends here…Dive into the hauntingly beautiful world of #SILAA where love meets redemption. Lead actor #HarshvardhanRane & #SadiaKhateeb come together for the first time in this romantic-action drama about a love-story gone wrong, directed by #OmungKumar. Shoot begins Tomorrow."
Meanwhile, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared mor details on X (formerly Twitter), sharing that Karan Veer Mehra will play the antagonist in the film. 'HARSHVARDHAN RANE – SADIA KHATEEB STARRER TITLED 'SILAA' – FILMING BEGINS TOMORROW… #Silaa is the title of the upcoming romantic-action drama starring #HarshvardhanRane and #SadiaKhateeb, with #KaranveerMehra playing the antagonist," he wrote. So far, the makers have not unveiled Karan's first look from the film.
Meanwhile, today, on Karan Veer Mehra's mother's birthday, the Bigg Boss 18 winner shared that he is set to begin shooting for Silaa. 'It's her 70th birthday and also my 1st day on my film set which starts shoot tomorrow, so couldn't be with her to celebrate lavishly, but I promise to make it up to you mommy love," he wrote. This film marks his first one after winning Bigg Boss 18.
Presented by Zee Studios, the film is a joint venture involving Blue Lotus Pictures, Stark Entertainment, and Innovations India, promising a big-screen spectacle for the audience.
Strengthening the production team is an impressive lineup. Omung Kumar is joined by producers Umesh KR Bansal, Pragati Deshmukh, Himanshu Tiwari, Ajay Singh, Dhananjay Singh, Abhishek Ankur, and Captain Rahul Bali, with Rahhat Shah Kazmi as co-producer.
