Air India plane forced to divert as concerning change detected in cabin

The latest diversion to Kolkata is one of several Air India has been forced to make in recent days as the embattled airline continues investigating the horror crash of June 12 Airline crews were forced to divert an Air India plane mid-flight after a temperature anomaly was detected in the cabin, landing passengers thousands of miles short of their destination. Passengers aboard Air India flight AI357 landed in Kolkata after their plane, which was en route to Delhi at the time, after lifting off from Tokyo on Sunday. A spokesperson for the airline confirmed they were dropped off more than 1,500 miles from their final destination after a "persistent warm temperature" was detected in the cabin. They added the plane is now "undergoing checks" just two weeks following the devastating Air India Flight 171 disaster. ‌ ‌ Crews onboard the Boeing 787 aircraft took what the spokesperson said was a "precautionary diversion" before landing safely in Kolkata earlier today. The spokesperson said: "Air India flight AI357 operating from Haneda to Delhi on 29 June 2025 made a precautionary diversion to Kolkata due to persistent warm temperature experienced in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely into Kolkata and is currently undergoing checks." Air India added that ground staff were assisting passengers and would make alternative arrangements for the passengers to continue onwards to the northern Indian region. They continued: 'Our ground colleagues in Kolkata are providing all necessary support to passengers to minimise the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen diversion. Alternative arrangements are being made to fly our passengers to Delhi at the earliest. We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers." The diversion comes just two weeks after the devastating June 12 Air India Flight 171 crash. The doomed flight crashed in a towering fireball, killing all but one of the passengers just 40 seconds after taking off for Gatwick from Ahmedabad Airport. ‌ As investigations into the cause of one of India's most devastating air disasters in recent memory continue, several other incidents have plagued the airline. Chennai-bound Air India Flight AI639 was forced to return to Mumbai after the airline said a burning smell was detected in the cabin on Friday, with the plane landing safely after taking precautions. On June 22, an Air India flight from Birmingham was diverted to Saudi Arabia following a bomb threat, where it underwent urgent security checks. A spokesperson for the airline said: "Flight AI114 from Birmingham to New Delhi on June 21 received a bomb threat and was consequently diverted to Riyadh, where it landed safely and completed security checks. "The inconvenience caused to our passengers due to this unforeseen disruption is sincerely regretted. Alternative arrangements are being made to fly the passengers to their destinations."

This includes Noto and Tipo, which both hold Michelin Bib Gourmands, as well as Lyla, which was awarded a Michelin star earlier this year. These will all be unaffected by the closure. The closure comes after Stuart began incorporating local and seasonal goods into his dishes and menus. According to Aizle's website, some meals were available for several weeks, and "others just a few". The most recent 'harvest' included items like guinea fowl, black garlic, quince and salted milk, which came together in a blind tasting menu. A description in the Michelin Guide read: "The constantly evolving menu takes on a surprise tasting format and is presented to diners as 'The Harvest', a list of produce to be featured in the meal rather than exact dish names."

Tourist leaves hilarious Snowdon review on Tripadvisor

More than 600,000 people travel to Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park every year for the chance to climb arguably the most famous mountain in Wales - Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). It gets so busy during the summer months, and during the holidays, there are queues to get to the summit. Yr Wyddfa - which is the tallest mountain in England and Wales at 1,085 metres (3,560 feet) - is a much-loved tourist attraction boasting a 4.8 (out of 5) rating on Tripadvisor from 2,803 reviews (at the time of writing). The largest national parks in the UK One person, describing their experience climbing Snowdon, said: "Just a beautiful place, challenging and yet peaceful. Amazing experience." While another added: "Absolutely amazing experience, amazing once in a lifetime views with awesome company!" The Llanberis Path up Yr Wydffa was also named the second most popular walk in the UK earlier in the year by AllTrails - the world's most popular and trusted platform for outdoor exploration. But not everyone seems to agree with the high praise for Snowdon. "Would be much better in Cornwall" - visitor requests Yr Wyddfa be relocated in hilarious review Just over 25 people, out of the 2,803 reviews on Tripadvisor, described their experience of Yr Wyddfa as "terrible", giving it a one out of five rating. One person described the climb as "rough and steep" before suggesting the mountain should be relocated. The review reads: "Its way too rough and steep. The weather is atrocious and whatever possessed them to put it in Wales? It would be much better in Cornwall." Another person, saying they were "lied to", was disappointed by the lack of a Welsh greeting upon reaching the summit. They said: "Awful experience. On reaching the peak there wasn't a leek or daffodil garden, nor a choir of Welsh miners. It was also raining and it wasn't warm." While a third person, describing the walk to the summit as "exhausting", suggested handrails should be added on Yr Wyddfa to help make the climb a little easier. The visitor commented: "The views at the top did not compensate for walk that is very difficult. I wished there were handrails. "A health person will struggle to get to the top. Athletes only walk."
