'Sweet Life: Los Angeles' re-airing with 'a little tea' from the cast: How to watch
It doesn't get sweeter than this!
Social media was in a frenzy when Issa Rae's reality television series "Sweet Life: Los Angeles" was abruptly canceled at HBO Max in 2022. The show follows the journey of a close-knit group of young Black adults as they navigate life and pursue their passions in South Los Angeles.
Now, the show is set to air old episodes on OWN amid calls for another season from fans.
"It's really refreshing to see that so many people love the show, they still love us, or they're still just interested in our lives," cast member Tylynn Burns told USA TODAY.

Where and when to watch 'Sweet Life: Los Angeles' Season 1
'Sweet Life: Los Angeles' Season 1 debuts on the Oprah Winfrey Network on Fridays, starting on June 13 at 9 p.m. ET.
The network will air back-to-back episodes beginning on June 27, one at 8 p.m. ET and the second at 9 p.m. ET.
The entire series is still available to stream on HBO Max.

'Sweet Life' re-airing adds 'a little tea'
According to OWN, each episode will include 5-7 minutes of confessional-style commentary from the original cast members, Cheryl Des Vignes, Tylynn Burns, and Briana Jones.
'I feel like the viewers should expect little tidbits of behind the scenes and what we were really feeling in the moment,' cast member Cheryl Des Vignes said. 'I feel like we're giving a little tea during the special airings of the episode.'
Burns added, "It's an intimate, exclusive look into the series, and it also humanizes us and the rest of the cast in a really interesting way."
When was 'Sweet Life: Los Angeles' canceled?
The reality television show, featuring a majority Black cast, was canceled in 2022 amid HBO Max's merger with Discovery, Variety and Deadline reported. It ran for two seasons.

Will there be a 'Sweet Life: Los Angeles' Season 3? Cast member hopes so.
OWN announced the re-airing of the show in May. Amanda Scott said that she is excited that the show is back on television and hopes it will resonate with a new audience.
"My hope is also that we get more chatter around the show," she stated. "I would love to have a season three. I think it would be incredible. We've all grown so much. There's so much story that the show has missed since we stopped filming."

Comedian John Early's directorial debut ‘Maddie's Secret' to premiere at TIFF
TORONTO - Comedian John Early will make his directorial debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. TIFF announced Wednesday that the satire 'Maddie's Secret' will open the festival's Discovery program, which spotlights first-time and sophomore directors. Early, who is best known for his starring role on the TBS and HBO Max show 'Search Party,' had not previously announced he was making the movie. Programmer Dorota Lech says the film, which was also written by Early, is about a content creator on a food network who's trying to hide her dark past. She says the movie is both a showcase for some of comedy's brightest stars, including Early's frequent collaborator Kate Berlant, and a 'really sincere portrait of girlhood and trauma.' The Discovery lineup includes Canadian filmmaker Eva Thomas's 'Nika & Madison,' a feature-length adaptation of her short film 'Redlights.' The movie follows two Indigenous women who flee their reserve after a violent encounter with a police officer. 'It's a really relevant social drama,' Lech said in a call last week to preview the lineup. Other films in the program include '100 Sunset' by Canadian director Kunsang Kyirong, a noir about Toronto's Tibetan community, and 'The Man in My Basement' from director Nadia Latif, a thriller starring Willem Dafoe and Corey Hawkins and based on the novel by Walter Mosley. TIFF, which holds its 50th edition this year, runs from Sept. 4 to 14. Billionaire David Geffen Sued By Estranged Husband
David Geffen, the billionaire record executive and co-founder of DreamWorks Pictures, filed for divorce in April from estranged husband Donovan Michaels, who has now sued Geffen for breach of an oral contract between the two, accusing him of reneging on promised financial support and coercing him with drugs and alcohol. After Geffen filed for divorce from Michaels in April, Michaels alleges in the new lawsuit Geffen breached their contract by cutting off financial support and demanding he vacate Geffen's New York home, which effectively left him homeless. In the lawsuit, Michaels alleges Geffen exploited him as a 'vulnerable, marginalized young gay Black man,' stating Geffen was a 'wealthy, powerful white gay billionaire who believed himself untouchable.'
