Fan zones for Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 unveiled across England
Set against one of London's most iconic backdrops, the riverside location will host a flagship fan experience from 13-27 September, featuring live match screenings, DJs, T1 Rugby open coaching sessions and community rugby initiatives, food and drink stalls, official tournament partner activations and more. Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 Managing Director, Sarah Massey, said: 'We're incredibly excited to confirm the Fan Zones that will bring the tournament to life across England.
'Whether you are a lifelong rugby fan or discovering the sport for the first time, the Fan Zones will offer something for everyone. We want everyone to feel the energy of this tournament and to give fans, local communities and visitors the chance to engage, celebrate and be a part of this unmissable moment for women's rugby.'
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: 'London is proud to stage the Women's Rugby World Cup, which will be one of the highlights of the year. The Official Tournament Fan Zone at Battersea Power Station will be a spectacular festival of sport and culture that will give fans, Londoners and visitors the chance to be part of this incredible moment for women's rugby.
'I have declared London the undisputed global capital for women's sport in 2025 and the Women's Rugby World Cup will be one of the premier major sporting events this year, creating a huge celebration of women's sport across our city. We look forward to welcoming the world's best women's rugby teams to our capital as we work together to build a better London for everyone.'
Sam Cotton, Interim CEO at Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: 'We are delighted Battersea Power Station has been chosen as the Official Tournament Fan Zone in London for the upcoming Women's Rugby World Cup. There is already so much excitement surrounding the tournament and with the iconic Power Station as the backdrop, the fan zone will offer the perfect setting for fans to cheer on their favourite teams. We are looking forward to welcoming members of the local community, Londoners and visitors from further afield to enjoy the great mix of family-friendly activations that will be available at the fan zone, as well as the shops, bars, restaurants and leisure venues open across the riverside neighbourhood.'

Meanwhile, six of the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025's official host locations have started unveiling their Fan Zone plans. Spanning iconic city squares and scenic parks, each host location will add its own unique stamp to the fan experience. Sunderland will come alive 21-23 August at Keel Square, with a fusion of local music, a match day fan march to the stadium as well as interactive digital activations and food and beverage options, coinciding with the city's Music City event and Food Festival.
Manchester's Piccadilly Gardens Fan Zone will celebrate their match weekends with a showcase of local rugby clubs, street food, and family fun, as part of MCR Live 25. Northampton will feature themed weekends at the Market Square starting 24 August, with live music, family zones, and interactive sport activities.
In Bristol, the city's iconic Amphitheatre will host community-focused entertainment such as a craft area, conversion corner and rugby 'have-a-go' zones on the quarter-final and semi-final weekends. Exeter's Princesshay Shopping Centre will transform into a vibrant fan hub for the entire tournament, with branded screenings and daily activations from 22 August to 27 September, kicking off with live music ahead of the tournament's Opening Ceremony.
Brighton & Hove will open its Victoria Gardens Fan Zone from 4 to 7 September, showcasing sport and cultural activations including DJs, Face Painting, Bracelet Making and Sports demos and games ahead of weekend match screenings. While York will not host a city-centre fan zone, matchday activations and a fan plaza will be available at the stadium to enhance the in-venue experience.
More details and full schedules for each fan zone will be available on the official tournament website. Running from 22 August to 27 September, Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 will take place across eight venues throughout England, making it the biggest celebration of women's rugby ever staged.

Arsenal transfer news: Crystal Palace's Eze plea made as Reds beat Gunners to teen star
Arsenal have made Eberechi Eze their main target with the Premier League season less than three weeks away as Crystal Palace hope to retain their leading light Arsenal's summer business is far from done with Mikel Arteta still wanting to add more firepower to his side ahead of their latest crack at the Premier League. The Gunners boss has finally got the striker he was looking to for with Viktor Gyokeres recently arriving at the Emirates. He joins more than £100million worth of talent in Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke as the north Londoners continue to bolster their ranks. Arteta was keen on Nico Williams earlier in the summer and Rodrygo was also heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, but both those moves now look unlikely. Arsenal's major target has now emerged to be Eberechi Eze, whose stock continued to rise with Crystal Palace. He was instrumental in them winning the FA Cup but is thought to be keen on making a move to north London. The Eagles though would be loathed to lose another leading light. Here's the latest from the Emirates. Palace plea made Oliver Glasner has pleaded with the Palace board not to sell any of their star players such as Eze, warning that it could derail their season. The 27-year-old is wanted by Arsenal, who've made him their priority as we approach the final month of the summer. Marc Guehi is also being linked with a move to Liverpool after the Palace captain entered the final 12 months of his contract. Eze, meanwhile, is tied down until 2027 but has a £68m release clause. Arsenal, who've spent £194m so far, are hoping to do a deal for less than that, reportedly around £60m but one which has incentives for Palace. Liverpool win race for teen Arsenal are set to miss out on Salford City's teenage star Will Wright, who instead looks poised to head to Liverpool. The Reds have agreed a deal worth £200,000 with the League Two side for the 17-year-old striker, who scored more than 50 goals across age groups last season. Wright underwent a medical on Tuesday and a deal to take him to Anfield is now in its final stages. The Gunners were previously favourites to sign the young star, but appear to have missed out with those in the north west winning out. Liverpool's head of academy recruitment Chris Dowling is understood to have played a major role in Wright's decision. He opted for a move to Liverpool and was sold on their long-term development plan, while geographical reasons were also a factor. Xhaka's reasons for returning Granit Xhaka felt the opportunity to establish Sunderland in the Premier League made returning to England too good an opportunity to turn down following his move from Bayer Leverkusen. The former Arsenal star left the English top-flight two years ago for the Bundesliga and claimed the German title at the first attempt, but has now chosen to return. The Swiss midfielder said: 'When I spoke to the Club, I was excited and I felt the energy, and the mentality that all the people and players have. It's exactly what I wanted, and I have a very good feeling. We are back to where this Club needs to be, and we want to stay here to write our own history." 'I feel that I'm ready to help the team with my experience but with quality as well. We need to find ourselves on the pitch, but I don't think this will be a big problem. It's been a long time to wait, but I'm here now and I'm looking forward to it.'
