SCR GM reviews progress of work at Railway Manufacturing Unit, Kazipet
Hyderabad, July 17 (UNI) South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, conducted a detailed inspection of the on-going construction works at the upcoming Railway Manufacturing Unit, Kazipet of Secunderabad Division, today.
He was accompanied by Bhartesh Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and other senior officials throughout the inspection.
The concerned officials presented a comprehensive report on the progress and status of the project.
The General Manager advised the division to further expedite the works so as to complete the project at the earliest.
The General Manager also inspected the safety aspects at the construction site and informed the supervisors and officials to ensure all safety guidelines and procedures without fail.
He also interacted with media personnel at the site and briefed them on the developmental plans being undertaken by SCR.
Earlier, Srivastava carried out a rear window inspection from
Secunderabad to Kazipet section, wherein he inspected the safety aspects of tracks and signaling systems.
Further, he conducted detailed inspection of Yadadri & Jangaon Railway stations and reviewed the progress of redevelopment works undertaken at the stations as part of Amrit Bharat Station scheme.
Later, the General Manager inspected the Kakatiya running room at Kazipet and interacted with the loco pilots about the facilities provided.
He planted saplings towards the protection of the environment.
The General Manager conducted a detailed inspection of Kazipet Railway station, wherein he reviewed the passenger amenities and inspected the circulating area.
He also inspected the crew lobby and relay room at Kazipet.
Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy met the General Manager at Kazipet and submitted representation regarding Rail developmental plans pertaining to his region.
During the course of the inspection, the General Manager also received representations from various other public representatives.

General coach of Shalimar-Sambalpur Exp derails
Bhubaneswar, July 24 (UNI) A minor derailment occurred today when the rear trolley of a general coach, located next to the guard van of the Shalimar-Sambalpur Express, derailed near Sambalpur City Station, East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources said. The incident took place in the Sambalpur City–Sambalpur section shortly after the train departed from Sambalpur City at 09:18 hrs, moving at a very slow speed. ECoR officials confirmed that there was no loss of life or damage to property. Except for the affected coach, the rest of the train resumed its journey to Sambalpur with all passengers safe. UP CM Yogi Adityanath performs Rudrabhishek at Mansarovar Temple on Sawan Shivratri
Gorakhpur, July 23 (UNI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed Rudrabhishek at the Mansarovar temple in Adhiyari Bagh on the occasion of Shravan Shivratri. Observed on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha during the holy month of Shravan, Shravan Shivratri is a significant day when devotees seek the blessings of Lord Shiva for health, happiness, and prosperity. At the revered temple, the chief minister, , who is also the Goraksha Peethadishwar (chief of cow protection) performed Rudrabhishek with water, cow milk, and sugarcane juice following an offering of sacred items, including Bilva Patra, lotus flowers, Durva grass, and other traditional materials. A priest from the Gorakhnath Temple conducted the ceremony, reciting Mahamantras from the Rudrashtadhyayi of the Shukla Yajurveda Samhita. Vande Bharat: Tissues used to plug leaks, but what about the issues?
HYDERABAD: Passengers travelling on the Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20704) from Yeshwantpur to Kacheguda on Friday evening reported water leakage from the air-conditioning units. Complaints were raised with the concerned staff, but no action was taken until now. According to a service provider on board, the leakage occurs when the temperature is set too low, with the problem reportedly affecting even the pilot's cabin. Speaking to TNIE, Vijayaraghavan, a retired government employee travelling from Anantapur to Kacheguda in the C13 AC Chair Car, said, 'It is pathetic to see Vande Bharat facing such issues. We have paid more than `1,000 for this journey. The service providers keep moving from one side to the other, but no one is addressing the issue.' When another drop of water fell on his head, he added, 'It is abhishekam'. When TNIE visited the nearby coaches C12, C11, C10, and C9, it observed tissue papers placed at certain leakage points to control dripping water. However, this measure proved ineffective, leaving passengers to travel in discomfort. 'The leakage from AC units happens when the temperature is set too low. This issue has been persisting for a very long time, but no measures have been taken so far, despite repeated complaints to our higher officials. They just fix tissues, not the issue,' said a service provider on board. He explained that the same condition exists in the pilot's cabin, while executive chair car coaches remain unaffected, with zero issues, on Friday evening. Another passenger, speaking to this newspaper, complained about the water dripping issue using the 'At Your Service' complaint number. The officials who answered the call said that an onboard service provider would check the problem, but it was not resolved. 'The train was already delayed by more than an hour, and now water is dripping from above. At first, it happened once every 15 minutes, but as time passed, it began dripping very frequently. Is this what we are paying for?' asked the passenger. When SCR officials were contacted regarding the issue, they responded that it is because of excessive cooling of the condenser, which also depends on the outside temperature. They stated that the issue has been brought to notice, the concerned officials have been sensitised in this regard, and the coach is under observation.
