After marrying in a $50 million wedding in Venice, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez have jetted off on their dream honeymoon. The newlyweds are reportedly unwinding at one of Europe's most iconic hotels, which TV fans will recognize from The White Lotus.Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are on their honeymoon at the famous San Domenico Palace in Taormina, Sicily. The luxurious hotel, steeped in history and celebrity visits, boasts breathtaking views and five-star elegance. Their post-wedding vacation follows a star-studded, contentious celebration in Venice. The popular HBO series The White Lotus, which parodies the lives of the ultra-wealthy as they reside in a new opulent hotel each season, focused on the hotel in its second season, as per a report by the Daily Beast. The newlyweds will board Bezos' $500 million superyacht Koru and travel to Taormina, a source told the Daily Mail. While sailing the Aeolian Islands with the couple last year, Bezos reportedly fell in love with the town. Elizabeth Taylor, Greta Garbo, Audrey Hepburn, and Oscar Wilde have all visited the opulent hotel. In 2017, it also hosted the G7 summit, which brought together world leaders. The hotel's most well-known role to date is from 2022's The White Lotus. The final episode of that season attracted 4.1 million viewers in the United States, a record that was quickly broken this year by the season 3 finale, which drew 6.2 million viewers. The cost of the couple's extravagant wedding is far higher than the $8,000 per night rooms at the San Domenico Palace can fetch. According to People, the estimated cost of Sánchez's ring alone ranges from $3 million to $5 million.About 200 celebrities and billionaires attended the wedding, occupying the Marco Polo airport as they arrived in private yachts and jets in Venice. Oprah Winfrey, the Kardashians, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman were among the prominent figures. The fact that the billionaire's wedding was happening in their city did not sit well with the locals, who feared it would interfere with their daily routines and exacerbate the city's overtourism issue. After local protests, the festivities were finally rescheduled from central Venice to the Arsenale, a former medieval shipyard on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. They're staying at the San Domenico Palace in Taormina, Sicily, which was featured in The White Lotus Season 2.Locals protested due to traffic disruptions and overtourism concerns, prompting the couple to relocate the festivities to a more private island location.

Why anti-terrorism squad arrived after Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding in Venice — no, it's not due to protests
It wasn't just the star-studded guest list or opulent venues that made headlines during Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's €40 million wedding in Venice, it was also the unexpected arrival of Italy's anti-terrorism unit. But contrary to what many might assume, their involvement had nothing to do with the widespread protests that shadowed the billionaire's celebration. The unit was there since a dress was missing. As per a report by The Guardian, Sánchez packed 27 designer dresses for her wedding with Bezos — but reportedly left with only 26. Her main ceremony gown is safe. According to Corriere della Sera, the missing garment may have been stolen by someone who gatecrashed Friday night's party. The situation reportedly became so chaotic that Italy's anti-terrorism unit, Digos, was called in to the island. The couple, now honeymooning in Taormina, Sicily, tied the knot during a three-day celebration on the exclusive island of San Giorgio. As per The Guardian, sources familiar with the matter confirmed that a dress had indeed vanished, but denied it was stolen. They also denied reports of a dress catching fire, allegedly involving a vintage Dolce & Gabbana piece, or that gatecrashers infiltrated the event. The couple believes the dress would 'turn up' at some point, so they did not file any formal complaints. The wedding, said to cost between €40 million and €48 million, featured themed parties and a guest list that included Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom, and Kim Kardashian. Yet, across Venice, anti-Bezos protests intensified, forcing a last-minute change in the location of Saturday's reception. As per a report, the protest saw activists project the slogan 'No Kings, No Bezos' in green laser across the bell tower at St Mark's Square. Another involved a Bezos mannequin floating along the Grand Canal on an Amazon box holding fake dollars. Despite the backlash, Venice's mayor defended the event, saying it brought money to the city. Now in Sicily, the couple are staying at the San Domenico Palace hotel in Taormina, made famous by 'The White Lotus', a television series. Unlike Venice, their arrival has been met with enthusiasm from local leaders. 'Jeff and Lauren, we welcome you with open arms,' said Matteo Francilia, mayor of Furci Siculo, a small town near Messina, The Guardian reported. 'Leave behind the beautiful lagoon with its absurd complaints! Here in Furci Siculo you'll find sun, sea and genuine people, who would welcome you with open arms.'

'Border 2': Bhushan Kumar accused of using influence to lift Diljit Dosanjh's ban for the film
Diljit Dosanjh 's ban from FWICE has been lifted, permitting him to work on the movie "Border-2." The federation added that Diljit has been given permission to work exclusively on "Border 2" and that the limitations will not be lifted for other projects. FWICE president B. N. Tiwari disclosed in an exclusive interview with IANS that the "Border 2" makers, T-Series, put pressure on them to remove the Diljit ban. "If considering a request is pressure, then it can be called that," Tiwari told IANS. "We have good relations with T-Series. We visited them four times and warned them that they could not continue with the shoot, but they kept on asking us for a chance. They were unable to find a different combination of artists for their film. When they showed their incapability, it was our duty to come up with a solution, as it was our country's money at stake. " The "Border 2" producer had sent a letter asking them to allow Diljit to appear in the film, the FWICE president added. He added that since most of the filming had already been finished and it would have been challenging to find a different cast for the war drama, the filmmakers urged them to allow Diljit to appear in the film. The filmmakers also told them that it would be very challenging to replace Diljit because they had already filmed the majority of the action scenes. In response to criticism of Diljit for collaborating with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir on "Sardaar Ji 3," FWICE wrote a letter to Anurag Singh , Bhushan Kumar , JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta requesting that Diljit be taken out of the film. The letter stated, "The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), representing the core workforce of the Indian film and television industry, is deeply disappointed and concerned by the casting of actor-singer Mr. Diljit Dosanjh in your upcoming film Border 2, produced under the banner of JP Films in collaboration with T-Series and directed by Mr. Anurag Singh. By choosing to collaborate with an artist who has so brazenly ignored the ongoing tensions and national sentiment, your production has directly undermined the stand taken by the Indian film industry in solidarity with the nation.
