Dunlop ready to step up in class with Skukuza
His victories have come over a mile, but Dunlop would have no qualms stepping him up in trip, with his liking for a bit of ease in the ground meaning he could be doing more travelling.
'We always thought he was a decent horse, he obviously ran very well in the Britannia last year (second) but then had a hiccup and didn't run again,' said Dunlop.
'He's a horse that we need to protect from fast ground after that, which is why he's been to Ireland twice. He's improving and he's becoming exciting.
'It was quick ground again at Ascot so we missed the Hunt Cup. It didn't do him any good the year before, so we thought it wouldn't do him any good this year.
'Obviously the Bunbury Cup will come too quick and he will have penalties for the others (International at Ascot and Golden Mile at Goodwood), so I'd have though handicaps are out now. I hope we'll be looking at Group races now.
'There are various options but it's too early to decide where next, we wouldn't be scared of going up in trip. Ryan (Moore) was keen to go forward from his draw and that is the first time he's made the running which was encouraging. He will go further in time, whether we need to yet, we'll see. He'll have options in France and England but we'll be dictated by ground.
'He's still a colt, he's a homebred for Mrs (Gaynor) Rupert so it's very exciting for her. It was a fantastic day.'

'Strong Link has won a bumper and maiden hurdle, he goes for the novice hurdle that Donnie Devito won last year. 'The young pretender is Strong Link, he hasn't put a foot wrong and has good winter form in bumpers. 'He's transferred that to winning in the summer and because he's up and coming he'd be the one that we're really looking forward to. 'Last year Chally Chute was second in the good Flat handicap over a mile and a half, the Guinness Handicap. He goes back for the same race again having won a Listed race.'

Mickey Moniak homers as Rockies double up Cardinals
July 23 - Mickey Moniak homered and singled, Ryan McMahon also went deep, and the Colorado Rockies beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-4 in Denver on Tuesday night. Bradley Blalock (1-2) pitched into the sixth inning, Brenton Doyle had three hits and Adael Amador doubled twice for Colorado. The Rockies have won three of four out of the All-Star break. Willson Contreras, Jordan Walker, Brendan Donovan and Alec Burleson had two hits each for St. Louis, which has lost 12 of its last 17. Colorado jumped on Cardinals starter Erick Fedde early. Moniak hit a solo homer in the first inning, his 15th of the season, and the Rockies added two more in the second. McMahon walked, Doyle singled and Amador hit a two-out double to right field to drive in both runners and make it 3-0. Colorado extended the lead in the third when Moniak and Jordan Beck singled and McMahon hit his 16th home run to make it 6-0. Fedde (3-10) allowed six runs on seven hits in three innings. St. Louis got a couple back in the fourth. Burleson singled, went to third on a double by Contreras and scored on Nolan Arenado's groundout. Contreras came home on Masyn Winn's single off the glove of first baseman Michael Toglia. The Rockies tacked on another run in the fifth on Ezequiel Tovar's double and Doyle's RBI single. The Cardinals threatened in the sixth when they had runners at the corners with no outs but Blalock retired Arenado and reliever Jake Bird came on to get the next two batters to strand the runners. Blalock (1-2) allowed two runs on eight hits, walked one and didn't have a strikeout in 5 1/3 innings. St. Louis got a run in the seventh on Donovan's run-scoring double but didn't cash in for any more runs despite having two on with one out, but did score in the eighth when Walker and Yohel Pozo hit two-out doubles.
