Norman Reedus would "for sure" star in A24's Death Stranding movie: "I don't know what's happening with it"
Norman Reedus says he would absolutely play Sam in the upcoming Death Stranding movie if it "was an option."
"If it was an option, yeah, for sure," Reedus told IGN. "I don't know what's happening with it, right? It's so pre...pre-pre [production] right now. But yeah, yeah, of course!" You can watch the clip below.
Death Stranding, created by none other than Hideo Kojima, was released in 2019 and featured voice and motion capture from the likes of Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Guillermo del Toro, and Margaret Qualley. Taking place in an apocalyptic America, the player controls Sam Porter Bridges (Reedus), a courier who must deliver supplies to remote colonies known as Knot Cities - which make up what is known as the United Cities of America - and reconnect them via a wireless communications network. Death Stranding 2 is set to release in June, with Reedus reprising his role as Sam.
Michael Sarnoski, who directed the critically acclaimed and commercially successful A Quiet Place: Day One, is set to write and direct - with some help from Kojima, of course (who won't let Sarnoski play Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 for some reason).
Kojima also clarified last year that this is just one of many Death Stranding projects in the works (one being a movie that he wrote himself, but doesn't "have time" to direct). He also reportedly said that the upcoming film will be both "strange" and "unbelievable."

Stranded Again, but Unable to Escape an Auteur's Themes
The first moments of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach offer us glimpses of a very different sort of game. Sam Porter Bridges, the grumpiest delivery man in the postapocalypse, is awakened from his nap by a cooing baby's small pudgy fist. This is Lou, the child Sam saved at the end of Death Stranding by freeing her from an embryonic pod. Lou is a toddler now, at the mercy of Sam's clumsy single-dad shenanigans. You spend the first few hours of Death Stranding 2 toting Lou around in a custom harness, taking extra care not to trip while navigating pitched inclines. You watch as Sam cooks her breakfast, sings her lullabies and distracts her with toys. This touching sequence is cut short, unfortunately, so that the real game can begin. When Lou is taken away from Sam (Norman Reedus), he is thrust back into the deeply familiar role of a porter designated with reconnecting a bunch of estranged cities and bunkers. Like in the first game, most of the action of Death Stranding 2 involves making solitary, perilous deliveries — across mountains, through forests, over rivers — in order to rebuild a world torn apart by its returning dead. Though Death Stranding 2 has Sam connecting the forts and outposts of a ravaged Australia rather than the United States, its format remains the same. The game is less a sequel than a reiteration. Many of these story beats overlap with those of the game's 2019 predecessor. There's still Sam's ambivalent relationship to power and his reluctant, if inevitable, obedience to shadowy figures and organizations who wind up revealing their true nature in the third act (a staple plot device of the series' auteur director, Hideo Kojima). The dastardly Higgs Monaghan, playfully embodied by a returning Troy Baker, appears intermittently to foil Sam's steady advancement. There are even occasional visits to an alternate dimension where Sam must do battle against a mysterious man with sad, beautiful eyes; Neil Vana (Luca Marinelli) takes over the position that Cliff Unger (Mads Mikkelsen) ably filled the last time around. Disbelief as Bride Shares Years-Old Voice Memo From Day She Met Husband
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A bride has gained traction online after sharing the voice note she sent to her best friend after her very first date with her now-husband—the internet has applauded the power of manifestation. Germaine Harney (@germainemurraymusic), 28, a wedding and events singer from Kent, U.K., posted a clip of herself and her husband, Sam Harney, 30, flashing their wedding bands on their big day, alongside a four-year-old voice note she sent to her best friend shortly after meeting him. The video has since racked up over 34,000 views. "Like, obviously I'm buzzing. I can't actually believe it. I'm honestly obsessed with him. He's gonna be my mother f****** husband," she told her best friend Sam in the message. Looking back on how it all began, Germaine said she and Sam met on the dating app Hinge. They had been chatting for three days when they arranged to meet for a coffee in a shopping center. A split image of Germaine and Sam on their wedding day showing off their rings. After grabbing coffee, it took just 20 minutes of conversation for her to feel certain he was the one she'd marry. They connected over shared interests in music, politics, and family. "I even had a ring on that was the same as his nan's engagement ring and he took a picture and sent it to his mom," she said. "He's just so smart, kind, loving and caring, supportive, charming and a little bit crazy. Literally the perfect man in my eyes." Germaine said she remembered feeling "so excited" when sending the voice note. She had been heading to dinner with her best friend and sent it to explain why she'd be late—caught up after what turned out to be a life-changing date. The early days of their relationship were a whirlwind. "Six days after we met he told me he loved me and asked me to be his girlfriend," she said. "He met all my family and I met his within the first week." The two spent nearly every day together for the first seven weeks, but then Sam got cold feet and ended things. A few weeks later, he called Germaine to explain what had happened, and the couple got back together. Within a year, they had bought a house and were expecting their first child. The pair got engaged in December 2023 at Sam's parents' house in London. He had planned to propose at a restaurant, but decided against it, thinking it wouldn't be private enough for Germaine, who preferred something low-key. "It was lovely! And the ring was exactly what I'd dreamed of," she said. Germaine also revealed that, while single, she had written a list of all the qualities she wanted in a future partner—including specifics like his appearance and favorite sports. "I showed him the list not too long ago and it's just a list about him before I even met him," she said. "I think I 'manifested' him in a way but I knew what I wanted and deserved in a partner so that's what I was looking for when he came along!" The video struck a chord with TikTok viewers, many of whom resonated with the idea of manifesting love. "Full circle moment right here," said Bailey. "Wait I say this and then this doesn't happen," added Amelia. "Manifestation at its finest! Congratulations," wrote Janay. "LOVE this. Wishing you a wonderful life together," shared another user. Latest 'Enola Holmes 3' News Includes Malta Filming Updates
Millie Bobby Brown is back in action solving cases as Enola Holmes. After two successful Netflix movies about the younger sleuth sis of Sherlock Holmes, Millie is picking back up her magnifying glass for another adventure in Enola Holmes 3. The movie series also stars Henry Cavill as Sherlock and Helena Bonham Carter as Sherlock and Enola's mother, Eudoria—and two out of these three main actors were just spotted filming the new movie together. This is everything you need to know about Enola Holmes 3. Yes! Netflix confirmed the news in an April 2025 release, saying: Besides Millie and Louis Partridge, Helena Bonham Carter has been spotted filming the series in Malta, so we can expect the return of Enola's mom in the third movie. Notably, Sam Claflin was missing from Enola Holmes 2 in the role of Enola's brother Mycroft Holmes due to scheduling conflicts, so hopefully he would be able to return for a third movie. Enola Holmes 2 director, Harry Bradbeer, said Sam is welcome back. "Well, it was Sam's schedule that became very clear, so Sam was not going to be in it. We were very sorry that Sam couldn't be in this one. If there was a future one we would love to have him back," he told Collider. And as revealed in the credits scene of Enola Holmes 2, Himesh Patel has joined the cast as Sherlock's sidekick, Dr. John Watson, meaning he will ideally return for Enola Holmes 3 as well. Enola Holmes 3 takes place and has filmed in Malta! Millie and Helena have been spotted filming around Malta, which has hosted many other productions such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Jurassic World. The island is a fan-favorite among Hollywood stars, including Russell Crowe, who filmed Gladiator there and has returned often with his family ever since. 'You want to know what I love about Malta? Everything,' Russell Crowe said during the Golden Bee Awards at the 2025 Mediterrane Film Festival. 'I love coming to Malta and I'm grateful for your welcome every time I'm here.' Millie herself donned a "Malta" cap with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, when she posted this Instagram dump celebrating filming wrap. Enola Holmes 2 ends with the main mystery solved but contained plenty of hints of what could happen next. Moriarty is seen escaping prison, so she'll likely be returning to cause the Holmes family problems. There's also the introduction of Dr. John Watson, who could feature heavily in a third film. Though the Enola Holmes films are inspired by the novel series of the same name by Nancy Springer, they don't tend to follow the plots laid out in the novels exactly, so the books don't necessarily provide a roadmap on what's to come. Unfortunately, there is no public release date just yet. But given that filming in Malta has wrapped as of July 2025, odds are that fans won't have to wait too long!
