Adolescence star Ashley Walters, 43, becomes a first-time Emmy Nominee for outstanding supporting actor in a limited series following success of Netflix's most watched series

Ashley Walters has received his first Emmy nomination for his supporting role as DI Luke Bascombe in the hit Netflix series Adolescence.
The Emmy nominations were announced on Tuesday with the four part series sweeping the board with 13 nominations.
And Ashley is nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Anthology Series or Movie category alongside his co-star Owen Cooper.
At just 15-years-old the Warrington school will be the youngest-ever male winner in the 76-year history of the 'TV Oscars ' if he scoops the accolade.
Speaking about his nomination, Ashley gushed: 'This is such an honour. This nomination means the world to me — not just as recognition, but as a reminder of how far I've come.
'It's for everyone who stood by me through the highs and the lows, who believed in me when I needed it most.
'It's a testament to the power of perseverance. Dreams are important — but it's the hard work, the setbacks, the growth, and the consistency that make them real.
'Five years ago, this felt out of reach. Today, I'm incredibly proud — not just for myself, but to stand alongside a group of artists I admire deeply.
'What we made together is something I'll carry with me forever, and to see it acknowledged on this level is truly special.
'Thank you to the Emmys for this nomination. To my wife and kids — thank you for grounding me and giving me purpose. To my family and friends, for being my foundation.
'To my team, who've worked tirelessly behind the scenes. And to the entire cast and crew — thank you for your brilliance and your heart. This moment is for all of us.'
The show is also nominated in the Best Limited or Anthology Series alongside Black Mirror, Dying for Sex, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story and The Penguin.
In the show, viewers saw how teen Jamie Miller's perception of girls had been radicalised through content he was viewing online, and also showed the vast amount of social media consumed by teenagers at school.
Ashley previously shared that realisations while filming the show have led him to curtail his youngest son's screen time.
He added: '[As parents] we're really about uplifting and pushing the things that they love. He's an animator, so he has a lot of animation software on his iPad and spends his time doing that.
'But sometimes, he's not animating when we think he is. We've been very conscious about that and drawing back on his screen time.
'Half the week, he can't even touch his device. And then actually, it's about me stepping in as a dad and saying, ''Let's go fishing, let's do more stuff,'' so he doesn't want to be on there as much as he is.'
'No one wants to be the ogre parent that comes in and goes, 'All right, that's it, everything off.'
'I don't want them to feel like they're not the same as their friends. You get caught up in all of that stuff as a parent, but I feel like around the world this show has allowed parents, to go, ''Fu*k that s**t.
'Adolescence says this could happen. Now we're going to start having this conversation.'' I think that's a good thing.'

Kylie Jenner shares lesson she taught daughter Stormi about natural beauty while filming makeup tutorial

Kylie Jenner showed off her bare face in a sweet makeup tutorial with daughter Stormi, as she revealed the lesson she taught her little one about natural beauty. The lipkit mogul, 27, shared an adorable video with the seven-year-old on Tuesday as they filmed a 'get ready with me' while vacationing in Greece. During the clip, Kylie — who was using Kylie Cosmetics products in the video — revealed the crucial natural beauty lesson she imparted to her daughter. 'Mommy always tells you, though, you're the most beautiful without...' she said, trailing off, as Stormi completed the sentence, stating, 'Makeup.' 'Yes,' Kylie — who recently stunned fans with a 'nasty looking' plastic surgery scar from a breast augmentation — responded. 'Our first GRWM together we always make vids together for fun and i never post them but this was just tooooo cute, ' Kylie — who shares Stormi and son Aire, three, with ex Travis Scott, 34 — captioned the clip. Timothée Chalamet's girlfriend started out the clip showing off her natural features while wearing a plush cream robe. 'It's Stormi,' Kylie playfully started out the clip, jokingly switching out their names, after Stormi introduced herself as Kylie. 'We're gonna do our first-ever makeup tutorial together,' Kylie went on, revealing that they were going to start with the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Butter. 'Really glossy,' Stormi remarked, after smacking her lips. Stormi then moved on to the blush as Kylie put on her foundation. The proud mom then explained how her little one enjoys makeup. 'Stormi likes to play with my makeup sometimes, but obviously, she doesn't wear makeup yet,' the mom-of-two said. The duo then went on to apply mascara before adding concealer. Stormi then spoke about having fun on the luxury vacation. 'We are in Greece. I love the boat that we were on. I love the food. I love the water. The water's so warm,' she sweetly shared. 'Our first GRWM together we always make vids together for fun and i never post them but this was just tooooo cute, ' Kylie — who shares Stormi and son Aire, three, with ex Travis Scott , 34 — captioned the clip Kylie then asked if Stormi liked 'having sleepovers with Mommy every night' to which she replied 'yes.' Stormi then showed off how she applied 'Mommy's dewy balm' as Kylie laughed and said 'You're so cute.' The two went on to apply blush, with Kylie choosing a mix of Summer Sorbet and Ladybug, and Stormi opting for Cheeky Mood. Kylie then applied her lip liner, as Stormi declared, 'Now, we're just waiting for Mommy to finish!' Earlier this week Kylie shared a video of her and Stormi dancing around in circles on a yacht while wearing robes with towels on their heads. She called her daughter her 'built-in-bestie for life.' She also shared the video to TikTok where she captioned it, 'can't see our haters from here.' She also shared videos of Stormi arriving in Greece. Kylie cheekily captioned that video, 'I want to be her.' Later she posted a video of Stormi going down the huge slide off the yacht into the sea. Kylie's girls' trip included four friends, among them her bestie, 28-year-old Stassie Karanikolaou. She shared a carousel of images earlier on Sunday of her time with the adults on the yacht. 'Greeeece,' the mom of two captioned that update. In the first image, The Kardashians star wore a tiny yellow and black Chanel string bikini as she sat on her knees on the yacht. In another snap, the reality TV star showered off as she climbed back onto the boat after a swim in the sea. Khloé Kardashian commented on her sister's post: 'Are you ever coming home?' Many of Jenner's fans think her A Complete Unknown actor beau Timothee is secretly with her on the yacht vacation. That is because a man in black briefs was spotted resting on a seashore in one of her latest Instagram posts shared on Tuesday. 'That guy on the shore is Timothee,' said one fan on X while another piped up: 'He is secretly with her in Greece, I feel it in my bones.' The couple were last photographed together in St Tropez in the south of France on July 5.

X Factor winner Leona Lewis to be made an OBE at Windsor Castle

Pop singer Leona Lewis and the former health secretary who oversaw the 2007 indoor smoking ban are to be honoured in an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. X Factor winner Lewis will be made an OBE for services to music and charity. Ex-Labour politician Dame Patricia Hewitt, who as health secretary pushed forward the ban on smoking in enclosed public spaces, will be made a Dame Commander of the British Empire (DCB). Former Conservative schools minister Sir Nick Gibb will receive a knighthood. Presenter and singer Myleene Klass, a former member of the group Hear'Say and runner-up in the 2006 series of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, will be made an MBE for services to women's health, miscarriage awareness and charity. Lewis, 40, won the third series of The X Factor in 2006 and went on to achieve success with singles including Bleeding Love, Run and Better In Time. The British singer-songwriter from Islington, north London, became a seven-time Brit award nominee and was nominated three times for a Grammy award. She has also carried out charity work with a number of organisations including the Prince's Trust, the Teenage Cancer Trust and WWF. Dame Patricia, previously the chairwoman of NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board, is being honoured for services to healthcare transformation. The former MP for Leicester West served as health secretary, trade and industry secretary and minister for women during Tony Blair's government. The Australian-born politician stepped down from cabinet in June 2007 when Gordon Brown took over as prime minister. Sir Nick was first elected as Conservative MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton in 1997 and was first appointed as school standards minister in 2010, before being removed from the post two years later. He was brought back as minister for school standards in 2014 and remained in the role until the reshuffle in September 2021 when he was sacked by then prime minister Boris Johnson. The veteran schools minister, who is being honoured for services to education, returned to the Department for Education (DfE) in October 2022 and stepped down from Government in 2023. During his tenure he oversaw curriculum and exam reforms and was an advocate of phonics as a method of teaching children to read. Klass, 47, has campaigned for paid bereavement leave to be extended to those who experience a miscarriage. The mother of three suffered four miscarriages and has spoken openly about the psychological effects of baby loss on women. She is an ambassador for the pregnancy and baby charity Tommy's and fronted the Bafta-nominated documentary Myleene Klass: Miscarriage And Me in 2021, in which she met women around the UK to hear their experiences.

Huge steel fences erected to stop ticketless fans from watching Oasis concert

Huge steel fences have been erected to prevent ticketless fans from watching the Oasis reunion tour in Manchester. Liam and Noel Gallagher will resume their sold-out run of shows - their first since 2009 - with a performance at Heaton Park tonight, and two more on Saturday and Sunday. While tens of thousands bought tickets for Oasis's first two shows last weekend, crowds gathered to glimpse the large screens above the stage in the distance - in an area dubbed "Gallagher Hill" by some on social media. Manchester City Council has now said more steel fences have been erected around parts of the park to prevent ticketless fans from watching the gigs, and to protect nature in the park. "After taking stock of how the first two nights went, additional measures have now been deemed necessary and will be in place for the next three concerts," it said. "The erection of the fencing has a dual purpose - both to protect the environment from further damage and to dissuade people from gathering there. 1:23 The fences will cover a large area of the hill within the park's cattle field, which is being developed as a new woodland area with around 300 young trees planted. The council added that there would be no facilities for people without a ticket, and said the event area is "double-walled with solid high security fencing all the way round". More than 2,000 event security staff and police officers will also be on duty around the site "to ensure both the safety and wellbeing of ticket-holders and that only those who have tickets access the concert", it said. John Hacking, the council's executive member for employment, skills and leisure, also said in a statement that "unfortunately our hand has been forced in having to put these additional measures in place". He added: "Our advice to music fans who don't have tickets for the concerts is to head into the city centre instead. "The whole city is going all out to celebrate and help everyone have a good time. "We've got some fantastic things going on with a real party atmosphere for everyone to enjoy, whether they've got tickets for the Oasis gigs or not."
