Morocco, Spain Strengthen Security Cooperation to Curb Irregular Migration to Ceuta
Rabat– In response to a sharp spike in irregular migration attempts toward Ceuta, Moroccan and Spanish authorities have significantly ramped up their joint security operations in recent days, according to El Mundo. The Spanish outlet reports that Morocco has deployed an unprecedented array of ground and maritime resources along its northern coastline, focusing on intercepting makeshift boats and preventing migrants—many of them unaccompanied minors—from reaching the Spanish enclave. This enhanced cooperation comes amid growing pressure on Ceuta's borders. Over the weekend, despite the tightened security measures, several migrants attempted to cross. Three youths reportedly reached Spanish territory briefly before being apprehended and swiftly returned to Morocco. Spanish Civil Guard sources cited by El Mundo highlighted the effectiveness of coordination with Morocco's Royal Gendarmerie, particularly at the maritime border near the Tarajal crossing point—Ceuta's primary entry zone. Since early Saturday, Moroccan authorities have deployed nine patrol boats to maintain 24/7 surveillance, a move credited with foiling all nighttime crossing attempts that day. In support of the joint effort, Spain's Interior Ministry dispatched a maritime vessel to strengthen the Civil Guard's presence in Ceuta. On Sunday morning, however, several youths exploited heavy fog to launch a new wave of sea crossings. While most were intercepted and turned back by Moroccan forces, approximately 50 minors and 30 adults reached Ceuta. They were immediately attended to by the Civil Guard before being handed back to Moroccan authorities after receiving first aid. This renewed migratory pressure reflects broader instability across the Western Mediterranean. As both nations work to avoid another border crisis, they remain committed to upholding bilateral agreements and enhancing real-time coordination to manage migration flows.

Morocco's Religious Model Under Royal Leadership Gains Grounds in Latin America
The Secretary General of the Latin American League of Religious Scholars, Sadiq Al-Othmani, praised Morocco's religious model of moderation, noting its expanding influence in Latin America as a bulwark against extremist rhetoric. Under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, this model has established itself as a benchmark well beyond Africa, reaching as far as Latin America, he explained. In an interview with MAP-Brasilia on the occasion of the Throne Day celebrations, Al-Othmani, who is also director of religious affairs for the Federation of Islamic Institutions in Brazil, emphasized that the Moroccan model is based on the Commandery of the Faithful, the Maliki rite, the Achaari doctrine, and Sunni Sufism. The Latin American official pointed out that these foundations have proven their resilience and adaptability to societal changes over centuries." In his view, this enables the Kingdom to remain deeply rooted in its heritage while addressing modern-day challenges through dialogue with diverse cultures. He underscored the pivotal role of the Commandery of the Faithful as the guardian of Morocco's religious foundations and the protector of its spiritual security. Notably, the Commandery of the Faithful signifies that the Head of State is entrusted with the stewardship of both the religious and worldly affairs of the nation. This institution, he noted, safeguards the independence of the religious sphere and shields it from exploitation. He also underscored the efforts of institutions such as the Mohammed VI Institute for the Training of Imams Morchidines and Morchidates, and the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulemas, which promote a moderate Islam grounded in scientific approach, both within Morocco and beyond its borders. Trump Calls Situation in Gaza ‘Tragic' Amid US Support for Genocide
Rabat – US President Donald Trump has finally acknowledged the situation in Gaza as tragic amid Washington's ongoing support for Israel and its occupation forces since October 7, 2023. The American president made his remarks during a visit to Scotland, where he is meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. 'I told Israel, I told Bibi [Benjamin Netanyahu] that you're going to now maybe have to do it a different way… It's a tragic situation, frankly,' he said. In response to the starvation war launched by the IOF against civilians in Gaza, Trump stressed that people in the region need food and safety 'right now.' According to the Palestinian news agency, at least 10 more people have died from hunger in the past 24 hours. Over the last three days alone, more than 25 children have also succumbed, bringing the forced starvation death toll to at least 143 people. The news agency said an estimated 900,000 children are suffering from hunger. About 70,000 of them have entered critical stages of malnutrition. In addition to famine, the IOF continues to claim people's lives. Since early morning hours, the IOF has killed at least 41 Palestinians. The number includes nine aid seekers. The death toll of the Israeli genocidal war has reached at least 59,821 since October 2023. Many victims' bodies remain trapped under the rubble, and over 141,851 are injured due to merciless Israeli assaults across Gaza. Tags: Aid looting GazaDonald Trump
