Chiwetel Ejiofor & Cristin Milioti Eyed To Star In ‘The Backrooms' At A24
Reps for the studio declined to comment. No word on the roles to be played by the duo, and their deals may not make in the end, as it's still early days here. We were first to report on the project back in 2023, and while its plot remains a mystery, the '90s-set original short watches as a young filmmaker's fall into another dimension leaves him wandering through an unsettlingly yellow, empty and labyrinthine office space, which may or may not be home to otherworldly beings. The film's title and setting draw inspiration from the imagery of a creepypasta (or internet urban legend) published to the website 4chan in 2019.

‘E! News' Nightly Show Axed As Versant Eyes Digital Future For Brand
EXCLUSIVE: E! News, the long-running celebrity news show, is coming to an end. Versant, the nascent company that oversees E! as well as a number of former NBCUniversal cable networks, is axing the show, which first launched in 1991, in September. More from Deadline Comcast's Versant Sets Board With Mark Lazarus, Former Disney Executive Rebecca Campbell Netflix Still Not Interested In Owning Legacy Media Networks Even As M&A Options Multiply - CFO CNBC Hires David Cho As Editor In Chief The half-hour, which airs at 11:30pm, will have new episodes through to September 25. Deadline understands that employees on the show were informed this morning with around 20 people working on it. Some of these may be offered other roles and some are expected to leave. It marks the first major programming decision since Versant was formed earlier this year. The move is not unexpected; given the way that people consume pop culture news these days, largely on their phone and across social media, means that operating a nightly news operation is more challenging. E! News digital brand will continue with a focus on social platforms. As Deadline revealed earlier this year, the brand saw some impressive growth, particularly on Instagram, where video views were up 49% and TikTok views up 52%. E! currently has around 87M social media followers and digital shows including E! News' The Rundown on Snapchat, Hot Goss on Instagram, RE!CAP on YouTube. The nightly show is hosted by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester. The show was previously canceled in 2020 but returned after a two-year break. Access Hollywood and Access Daily will continue to operate as normal. E! currently also airs shows such as Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind and Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour with upcoming titles including Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane and E!'s Dirty Rotten Scandals. Eternally Yours is an eternal love story about two vampires who have been married for five hundred years, and their struggles to accept the human who is dating their daughter. Port and Wiseman are writing and are exec producing alongside Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang. It comes as Ghosts is heading into its fifth season in October. The cast, including Utkarsh Ambudkar, Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman and Devan Chandler Long, are joining Port and Wiseman at Comic-Con on Saturday to tease the new season. It marks the latest pilot order for the broadcaster, which has endured a tough week after the cancelation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, as President of Entertainment Amy Reisenbach refreshes the way it handles development. 'We're not just being beholden to a certain calendar,' she told Deadline last year. Last year, it ordered a pilot of DMV, from the 9JKL team of co-creator/showrunner Dana Klein, Kapital Entertainment and TrillTV, which was handed a series order earlier this year. Gwyneth Paltrow Plays F, Marry, Kill With Her Costars
Gwyneth Paltrow just played "Fuck, Marry, Kill" with three of the hottest leading men in Hollywood, and her answers were absolute perfection. On a July 22 episode of The Goop Podcast, the 52-year-old actor sat down for a special "Ask Me Anything" where she shared whether or not she should have sex, marry, or get rid of three famous costars. The three actors in question were Robert Downey Jr., Timothée Chalamet, and Jude Law. Gwyneth starred in Marvel Cinematic Universe's Iron Man and Avengers franchises as Pepper Potts, the employee turned wife of Tony Stark (Robert). Gwyneth played Dickie Greenleaf's (Jude) girlfriend, Marge Sherwood, in 1999's The Talented Mr. Ripley. As for Timothée, Gwyneth is starring with him in the A24 film Marty Surpreme, slated for release on December 25, 2025. "This is impossible... there's no way I can answer this," Gwyneth said, before responding with the most logical answer. "I would marry Robert because we would just laugh so much and have such a fun, weird life and travel," she said. "And, anyway, I'm already, basically, I am married to him in movies, so what's the difference?" At first, she landed on Jude for "fuck" sharing it's "only because it's like robbing the cradle, really, if I do it with Timothée. I think my children would kill me if I did that." That left Gwyneth with only one person to kill, but then the Goop founder flipped the switch on the problematic game with an answer that had me snapping my fingers and saying, "yes, queen." "I'm gonna marry and fuck all three, how's that?" she added. "I'm a modern woman, I'm not killing anymore. Peace out." How about that, indeed? To be honest, this type of game shouldn't exist in the first place because what do you mean you have to "kill" somebody? But I appreciate Gwyneth's answer, because why should you be forced to choose one or the other? Everybody can get it. Funnily enough, this isn't the first time she's been presented with this wacky ultimatum. On a 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper, Gwyneth played the game with her real-life exes: Brad Pitt, whom she dated from 1994 to 1997, after meeting on the set of the movie Se7en. They were engaged in 1996 before breaking it off a year later. Ben Affleck, whom she dated from 1999 to 2000. They starred in a couple of films together, like Shakespeare in Love (1998) and Bounce (2000). And her ex-husband Chris Martin, whom she married from 2003 before they consciously uncoupled in 2014, and split in 2016. They share two children, Apple and Moses. Long story short, Gwyneth, who described Brad as "the sort of major chemistry, love of your life, kind of, at the time," chose to F him. As for who to marry, she picked the easy answer and said she would marry Chris and "Do that all again" since "he gave me my two children, who are the loves of my life." Unfortunately, that left Ben with the less desirable option from the game. "Ben, yeah, bless him," she said, noting that he was "technically excellent" in bed, so it wasn't all bad for The Accountant star. Watch to the full episode The Goop Podcast to see Gwyneth talk about less salacious topics like about hormone therapy, menopause, and her favorite foods.
