What a night! Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton - King of the Ring The first match of the night started with the King of the Ring match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. The Viper was once a mentor to Rhodes, showing him the ropes in WWE. A back problem became the center point of the match, and student overcame master, as at the end, the American Nightmare won the match against Orton to win King of the Ring by pinfall. Both powerhouse performers kept one-upping the other, but an injury to the referee proved to be the turning point of the match. Seth Rollins and his newly formed stable entered the stage alongside Paul Heyman and everyone thought he would cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. It was an all out chaos where no one was anyone's friend, and fans seemed bewildered. Penta shows up out of the blue, but Bron Breakker grabs him on the way to the ring. Sami Zayn came back in, but Breakker is not deterred even after a couple punches. John Cena took advantage of this chaos, throwing Rollins out of the ring and then covered Punk to win the match by pinfall. The Night of Champions comes to an end with Rollins storming off with his MITB briefcase and John Cena once again being declared the Undisputed WWE Champion.
