Beyoncé earns two Emmy nominations for ‘Beyoncé Bowl,' inching closer to first-ever win
The Television Academy announced the nominees for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, set for September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. This year, the Grammy-award winning singer is up for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) as an executive producer and performer of the special. She's also nominated for directing in a variety special.
The special also received nods for choreography in variety or reality programming and production design for a variety special.
Produced by Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment, her record-breaking Christmas Day live halftime performance became a standalone special on the streaming site.
During the special, "Cowboy Carter" creator hit the stage at NRG Stadium, putting on a spectacular 12-minute halftime performance as the Baltimore Ravens took down her home team, the Houston Texans, on Christmas Day 2024. It marked the first live performance of songs from her eighth studio album "Cowboy Carter."
She's weeks away from wrapping her Cowboy Carter and Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour for her album. The nine-city tour has spanned the U.S. and Europe with the grand finale set for July 26 in Las Vegas.
Although she hasn't won an Emmy, Beyoncé received two nominations for her visual album "Lemonade" in 2016. Three years later, she received four Emmy nods for her "Homecoming" documentary. She also scored nominations for her 2013 Super Bowl halftime show; an "On The Run Tour" HBO special with husband Jay-Z in 2015 and the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show.
Chosen by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, this year's Emmy Awards will recognize the best in primetime TV that aired or streamed between June 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025.

‘Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story' Star Cooper Koch On First Emmy Nom & Having An Effect On Events In 'Real-Time Before Our Eyes'
It's shaping up to be quite a good week for Cooper Koch, who just received his first Emmy nomination this morning for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series. Not only is he ecstatic about the news, the nomination came as a bit of an early present for him. 'Today's the greatest day and it's my birthday tomorrow,' says Koch. 'That's the best birthday present in the entire world.' Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story is the second season of Ryan Murphy's Monster anthology series for Netflix, centering on the 1989 murders of José (Javier Bardem) and Kitty Menendez (Chloë Sevigny), who were killed by their sons Lyle (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Erik (Koch). The season was nominated for 11 Emmys, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. More from Deadline New Emmy Nominee Shawn Hatosy Reflects On His Biggest Career Roles, Says His 'The Pitt' Character "Was Easy To Fall In Love With" Jenny Slate On Emotional Journey To First Emmy Nomination For 'Dying For Sex': "I Knew Enough About Myself To Let It All Go" Emmy On-Screen Diversity Takes A Hit With Acting & Hosting Nominations Down 18% From 2024 The role was a 'dream come true' for Koch, as someone who was invested in the ongoing case. 'I found out about the story when I was auditioning for the Law & Order series and the Lifetime movie back in 2017,' he says. 'Since then, I've always had this deep care and passion for the brothers and sort of believing their side of the story.' A chance to show that care and passion came about with the fifth episode of the season, 'The Hurt Man' – a one-shot episode where Erik speaks about the abuse he suffered from his parents as a child. 'It's such a testament to Ian Brennan's work on writing the script,' says Koch. 'He really captured the way that both Erik and Leslie (Ari Graynor) sound and behave, and just the entire circumference of what it means to have experienced a form of sexual abuse… I don't know if I will ever get a script that is better than that, and I don't know if I'll ever do work that I feel as passionate about or proud of.' Something that makes the recognition even more meaningful for Koch is that the actual Menendez brothers are still in the midst of trials. 'For the past year, this is still something that's happening live, and in real-time before our eyes,' he says. 'If I, or the show and everybody who worked on the show, has had anything to do to sort of move the needle and impact the real-life events that are happening in front of our eyes, then that just means the world… If I had the ability to change the outcome of someone's life for the better, there's nothing better than that.' Of course, there's no rest for Koch who is already gearing up for Luca Guadagnino's AI-themed film Artificial. 'I'm going to be shooting that in August, and I have a couple of plays that I've been circulating that are still sort of in early development,' he says. 'But the thing I'm going to do next is Artificial.' Chargers will be looking 🔥— or maybe like Minions — in 2025 alternate uniforms
The Chargers are going for the gold this season. Or are they going for the mustard bottle? Or the banana? Fans will be able to figure that out for themselves this fall when the team debuts its 'Charger Power' uniforms, one of two alternate looks revealed by the team Tuesday that will be worn during the 2025 season. The Chargers also announced that they now have the option to wear powder blue pants with their regular jerseys, which are powder blue at home and white on the road. The Charger Power look features yellowish gold jerseys with matching pants, to be worn with the regular white helmet. 'If you're going to do gold, the way we did it with all gold, it looks amazing,' Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. said in a team news release. 'It's a great alternate!' When the Bolts don the uniforms Oct. 19 against the Indianapolis Colts at SoFi Stadium, it will be the first time Chargers players have worn gold jerseys in a game. Fans, however, have had the opportunity to wear them in the past. 'Nike had previously done a retail version of the 2020 jerseys in gold,' A.G. Spanos, the Chargers' president of business operations, said in a statement. 'It sold quite well and had really good word of mouth. In fact, in my own household, it was my kids' favorite uniform. It definitely appeals to the younger demographic.' The look has already garnered plenty of online reactions. One longtime fan, who appreciated the nod to the yellow 'Charger Power' T-shirts worn by Bolts faithful in the late 1970s and early 1980s, wrote on X that the uniforms are 'simply beautiful.' Retired NFL offensive lineman and current Amazon football analyst Andrew Whitworth spoke from experience after wearing similarly colored alternative uniforms on occasion during his time with the Rams. 'Been there done this,' Whitworth wrote on X. 'Had me out there looking like Big Bird!' The Minions, the cartoon characters from the 'Despicable Me' film franchise, seemed to like the uniforms ... though perhaps not for how they'll look on an NFL field. 'the new recruits look so cool,' the fictional creatures wrote on X in response to a team post highlighting the Charger Power look. Cam Jordan, a defensive end for the New Orleans Saints, had a more critical take, posting on X: 'Gold!???? Nah that's ... French's! That is mustard yellow…' One X user compared the look to that of a popular novelty baseball team. 'We look like damn Savannah Bananas,' the fan wrote. 'At least the Navy's are [fire emoji].' The latter part of that post referred to the team's second set of alternate duds: the Super Chargers uniforms. They feature navy blue jerseys, pants and helmets and are meant as a 'modern throwback' to the San Diego Chargers' look from 1992 to 2006 — a span that included the organization's only Super Bowl appearance, following the 1994 season. 'When you saw that jersey, more than likely you were in Qualcomm Stadium,' retired running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who played for the Chargers from 2001 to 2009, said in the team's news release. 'And, more than likely, if you were on the other team in that era you were leaving with a loss.' The Super Chargers uniforms will debut during the team's 'Thursday Night Football' game against the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 23, the same night the Chargers will be inducting former safety Rodney Harrison into the team's Hall of Fame. The uniforms will be worn again Nov. 30 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

‘The Pitt' Star Katherine LaNasa Confirmed for Season 2 While Celebrating Emmy Noms From Set With Noah Wyle
Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa celebrated their Emmy nominations together from 'The Pitt' set in a behind-the-scenes video posted Tuesday – and incidentally confirmed the return of the latter's character for Season 2 in the process. Wyle was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and LaNasa got her nod in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category. In the video, shared on Instagram by a crew member and seen below via X, the two hug while soaking up applause from their colleagues in the emergency room of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Apparently taking a break from filming Season 2, the excitement is palpable from everyone on set. The Max series was also nominated for Best Drama Series. 'A heartfelt congrats to all my fellow nominees. 'I am so very proud of 'The Pitt' and especially grateful to Noah, John and Scott for entrusting me with Dana. I am beyond humbled to be included in this group of beautifully talented actresses.' LaNasa being on set and in costume should quell any concerns fans of the first season had about LaNasa's return. Her character Dana Evans seemed set to quit the hospital after the harrowing events of Season 1 – including a mass shooting that filled the hospital with critical patients. She even played coy when asked whether she would be back for Season 2 in May. 'I think she would probably just spend it at home with her family,' LaNasa told Gold Derby. 'I think she needs a big decompression. I think she just really needs a lot of time to probably process and decompress. Probably needs some therapy.' HBO Max did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment on LaNasa's return. 'The Pitt' takes place over a single shift at PTMC. It was announced following Season 1 that the second season of the show would take place on the Fourth of July. If the first season revolving around the annual PittFest ended explosively as it did, things will likely get even more intense for the residence and interns of The Pitt in it's sophomore outing.
