Oman oil price reaches $70.52 per barrel

MUSCAT: The official price of Oman oil for September delivery on Wednesday reached $70.52. The price of Oman oil decreased by 18 cents compared to Tuesday's price of $70.70. The monthly average price of Omani crude oil for July delivery reached $63.62 per barrel, a decrease of $4.25 compared to the price for June delivery. Meanwhile, international oil prices fell for the fourth consecutive session on Wednesday, as investors assessed trade developments including a US tariff deal with Japan ahead of a US stocks data announcement. Brent crude futures were down 50 cents, or 0.7%, at $68.05 a barrel as of 11:19 GMT. US West Texas Intermediate crude futures were down 47 cents, or 0.7%, at $64.78 per barrel. Both benchmarks lost about 1% in the previous session after the EU said it was considering countermeasures against US tariffs. US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the US and Japan had struck a trade deal that included a 15% tariff on US imports from Japan. 'The slide (in prices) of the past three sessions appears to have abated but I don't expect much of an upward impetus from news of the US-Japan trade deal as the hurdles and delays being reported in talks with the EU and China will remain a drag on sentiment', said an analyst. — Agencies MUSCAT: The official price of Oman oil for September delivery on Wednesday reached $70.52. "Osara" project: A coastal tourist, entertainment destination for Khareef Dhofar's season

Salalah: The "Osara" tourism project, situated on Raysut Beach in Salalah, stands out as a prominent tourist and entertainment destination accompanying Khareef Dhofar's (monsoon) season 2025. This Omani youth-led initiative launched in 2022. This year, "Osara" has undergone new developmental works across several of its facilities, including a redesigned waterfront to enhance the visitor experience. This involved expanding sea-view areas, creating open seating arrangements, and adding restaurants and cafes that offer direct beach views. Majid Samhan Al Mashali, one of the project's founders, told Oman News Agency: "Since the project's inception, we have been keen to introduce innovative ideas that align with visitors' aspirations. We continuously strive to develop various 'Osara' facilities to enhance the quality of the tourism experience." He noted the addition of a new area for electric games this year within the adventure zone, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for children and their families. In addition to the waterfront and games area, the site features a traditional market showcasing Omani handicrafts and traditional products for which Dhofar Governorate is renowned. Various retail outlets are also distributed throughout the venue, contributing to the support of productive families and local brands. "Osara" also includes a theater that hosts cultural and entertainment events targeting various age groups, alongside tranquil beachside seating areas that combine recreation and relaxation. It is worth mentioning that the "Osara" project boasts an eco-friendly character, having been constructed using recycled wood, making it a model for sustainable tourism. "Osara" receives support from Dhofar Municipality, the SMEs Development Authority 'Riyada', and Salalah Port, as part of efforts to back youth initiatives and empower local entrepreneurs to contribute to boosting tourism activity during the Khareef season.
