From Taeyang To Taemin: All The K-pop Acts ALLDAY PROJECT's Bailey Sok Has Choreographed For

Hype Malaysia5 days ago
No chart-topping K-pop hit is complete without its accompanying dance moves, but did you know that some of the genre's biggest songs feature choreography by a 21-year-old K-pop rookie? Even before her debut with ALLDAY PROJECT (올데이프로젝트), Korean-American idol Bailey Sok (베일리 석) had already made a name for herself as a skilled dancer and accomplished choreographer.
Bailey started dancing at the age of two and was already performing on stage and in competitions by ten. Her growth as a dancer led to collaborations with renowned artists, including Janet Jackson and Jason Derulo. In celebration of her long-awaited debut, let's take a look at all the K-pop tracks that Bailey had a hand in choreographing.
Taeyang (BIGBANG)- 'Vibe' & 'Shoong'
Two of Bailey's most renowned choreographies were for BIGBANG member Taeyang – 'Vibe' and 'Shoong'. She even got to dance with the K-pop legend when they did the dance challenges for the two tracks.
aespa – 'Savage', 'Illusion' & 'Spicy'
When it comes to iconic and memorable K-pop choreographies, girl group aespa comes to mind. Bailey had a hand in creating the dance for three of the group's tracks, including the viral hits 'Savage' and 'Spicy'.
Taemin (SHINee) – 'Idea'
Creating a dance routine for K-pop's 'dancing king' Taemin is seen as an honour for any dancer. Bailey got to work with the SHINee member on his track 'Idea', which was the title track from his album 'Never Gonna Dance Again Act 2'.
SHINee – 'Don't Call Me'
Speaking of SHINee, Bailey also worked with the group on their highly anticipated comeback track 'Don't Call Me'. The song was also nominated for 'Best Dance Performance – Male Group' at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
Red Velvet – 'Psycho'
'Psycho' remains one of Red Velvet's best-selling and recognisable tracks, and Bailey had the opportunity to choreograph for the chart-topping track. More impressively, she did so when she was only 15 years old!
Kai (EXO) – 'Peaches'
Bailey also had a hand in creating the choreography for Kai's hit song, 'Peaches', which was highly praised for its dance. Fun fact: the choreography also featured the work of Bailey's fellow KINJAZ crew member, Anthony Lee
Lisa (BLACKPINK) – 'Money'
While Bailey never created the original choreography for 'Money', she did work with Lisa for a new dance break for the track. The Thai singer debuted the new dance break during BLACKPINK's set at BST Hyde Park 2023 in London.
Jeon Somi – 'Gold Gold Gold'
Besides Taeyang, Bailey also got to choreograph for another THEBLACKLABEL artist, Jeon Somi. The 21-year-old did the choreography for her track, 'Gold Gold Gold', which was a B-side track from her album 'Game Plan'.
MEOVV – 'Meow' & 'Body'
Before making her debut in ALLDAY PROJECT, Bailey was part of the trainee lineup for her THEBLACKLABEL labelmates, MEOVV. While the dancer never got to debut in the girl group, she choreographed two tracks for them, including their debut track, 'Meow'.
ALLDAY PROJECT – 'Famous'
Given her extensive history in choreographing for K-pop acts, it's no surprise that Bailey also choreographed for her group's debut track, 'Famous'. The hand gestures during the chorus, in particular, went viral for their intricacy.
Bonus:
While Bailey never choreographed for Jackson Wang, she famously made an appearance in his 'Cruel' music video.

Perry: The YG Entertainment Producer Who Has Been Missing For More Than 10 Years

When K-pop fans think of composers and producers from YG Entertainment, names like Teddy and Choice37 come to mind. However, another prominent name in the composing game was Perry (페리). The rapper played a key role in shaping the label's iconic hip-hop sound, paving the way for YG Entertainment's now recognisable image. Perry, whose full name is Perry Thomas Borja, was known for writing and producing songs for many of the earlier YG Entertainment stars. He worked with Jinusean, 1TYM, Se7en, Lexy and Wheesung. He even helped produce several tracks from BIGBANG's debut album, including 'La La La', 'Always' and 'Good Bye Baby'. Unfortunately, he hasn't been active in the music scene because he's reportedly gone missing since 2010. According to reports, the producer's last known appearance was in South Korea in 2010. He was working with YG Entertainment when his activities abruptly stopped in 2009. He allegedly returned to the United States sometime in 2011 but completely cut off contact with colleagues and family members. There have been no contracts, activities or confirmed sightings of the rapper since 2013. The last known information about Perry's disappearance was from 2021, when a post from an anonymous person went viral. The post was from someone believed to be close to the composer. According to the individual, Perry's family had filed a missing persons report after his disappearance. However, there had been no progress on the case for years. There are also many speculations about Perry's current whereabouts. Some argued that he's living anonymously or off-grid in a completely different environment. Unfortunately, no concrete leads have surfaced, and not even his closest friends have information about his disappearance. Sadly, his US citizenship also complicates things, as South Korean authorities can't intervene in the case due to legal privacy protections. It's almost 15 years since Perry's disappearance, but his loved ones have not yet given up on locating him. However, with a lack of clues and evidence indicating foul play, this case remains a mystery. What are your thoughts on this? Sources: Koreaboo, Pannchoa
