Naomi Girma's return headlines USWNT roster for friendlies vs. China, Jamaica
USWNT coach Emma Hayes announced a 24-player roster for two upcoming matches — vs. China on May 31 at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota and vs. Jamaica on June 3 at Energizer Park in St. Louis — and Girma is on it.
The star center back has not been part of any USWNT squads in 2025 due to injuries, but is back to fitness after helping Chelsea win the Women's Super League title and FA Cup over the weekend. Other players making their return after a layoff include forward Lynn Biyendolo, who missed the April matches, and Olivia Moultrie, who has not played for the USWNT since the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup.
Hayes has also called in three uncapped players, including first-time senior team call-ups for Orlando Pride left-footed defender Kerry Abello and Kansas City Current captain and midfielder Lo'eau LaBonta. According to U.S. Soccer, the 32-year-old LaBonta would become the oldest player to debut for the USWNT in program history.
Seattle Reign goalkeeper Claudia Dickey is also uncapped, but has been to previous camps under Hayes. She makes up a group of three goalkeepers, which includes Utah Royals' Mandy McGlynn and Manchester United's Phallon Tullis-Joyce, who recently claimed a share of the 2024/25 WSL Golden Glove with a league-high 13 clean sheets. Jane Campbell, who has not played in the last two Houston Dash matches, was not called into this camp.
"Everyone always earns their call-ups but there are some much-deserved call-ups in this camp for players who have shown consistency in league play," Hayes said in a statement. "We have two different types of opponents ahead of us, so we'll have to be creative in breaking down those teams in different ways. Now that everyone has settled into a rhythm with their clubs, or is coming right off their European seasons, our players are at a good level. As has been one of our focuses this year, this camp and the following camp are going to be two amazing opportunities to develop squad depth."
Other roster notes include the fact that four of the seven forwards on the roster — Michelle Cooper and Ally Sentnor as well as Alyssa and Gisele Thompson — are 22 years old or younger. And Gisele Thompson, who had previously been called up at outside back, will feature on the forward line this camp.

Barcelona Reject Chelsea Offer That Includes €45M-Rated Man Utd, PSG-Linked Attacker
Manchester United and PSG have been linked with Christopher Nkunku this year, as questions continue to grow over his future at Chelsea. Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023 in a £52 million move, but injuries and strong competition have limited his impact. With doubts surrounding his role, transfer speculation is starting to build. Journalist Ben Jacobs previously reported that PSG explored a potential reunion with Nkunku earlier this year but chose not to move forward. Meanwhile, TEAMtalk reported Saturday that Chelsea are open to selling and could drop their asking price to around €45 million as they look to trim their wage bill. The report also notes that Nkunku, who scored 15 goals in 48 appearances last season, is believed to be the club's fourth-highest-paid player. Inter are also said to be keeping an eye on the situation and could explore a loan or other flexible options. Man Utd, PSG target won't be going to BarcelonaAccording to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have rejected Chelsea's proposal to include Nkunku as part of a deal for Spain midfielder Fermin Lopez. In July, L'Équipe reported that Nkunku is expected to cost between €35 million and €40 million this summer. Bayern Munich are among the few clubs Nkunku would be open to joining, but there haven't been any concrete talks yet. Manchester United and Inter Milan have recently made inquiries, while Bayern Munich remain interested. However, they are currently focused on other priorities.

Predicted Man United XI vs Everton: Bryan Mbeumo debut, Matheus Cunha return
Bryan Mbeumo will make his Manchester United debut today as the Red Devils complete their tour of the USA with an all-Premier League clash against Everton in Atlanta. This was confirmed by head coach Ruben Amorim, who admitted he is 'excited' to finally see the Cameroonian in action for his side. With just one more warm-up game after this at home to Fiorentina, it's likely Amorim will pick a side close to that he expects to start against Arsenal in two weeks' time, with just the odd tweak here and there. Defence Andre Onana is back in light training after missing the whole of pre-season so far with a hamstring injury, but he is not ready to play. Tom Heaton got the gloves in the last match against Bournemouth but it seems likely that Altay Bayindir will take back over. As things stand, the Turk is in the box seat to start against the Gunners. Leny Yoro is another likely to start but he has played a lot on the tour and so could be rested, especially if Noussair Mazraoui has recovered from a knock. The Moroccan will need minutes. Matthijs de Ligt just played 20 minutes against the Cherries so will probably return in the central position. On the left, Ayden Heaven could get another start with Luke Shaw being rested. Harry Maguire will also almost certainly get some minutes at some point but he is being managed carefully, suggesting there is an ongoing issue to do with an injury. Lisandro Martinez is also back on the grass but is not yet ready to return to action. Wing Backs and Midfield At right wing back,we expect Amad to start even though he, too, has played a lot of football already this pre-season. He looks to be Amorim's choice for the role over Diogo Dalot, so the boss will want to give him time to get to know Mbeumo's game and vice-versa as they aim to nail down the right flank. Patrick Dorgu will almost certainly be the starting left wing back on the 17th August but he could be given the day off today, with new signing Diego Leon given another chance to show what he can do. Bruno Fernandes will probably play in central midfield as he forges an understanding with the new boys Cunha and Mbeumo. Casemiro played last time out so Manu Ugarte might get the nod today. Kobbie Mainoo also has a shout. Attack Amorim said Matheus Cunha would be back for this game having missed the Bournemouth victory due to fatigue. So he is likely to play on the left side of the attack with Mbeumo on the right. Rasmus Hojlund had a decent game last time out so he should spearhead the attack. Amorim will be desperate for him to build on his goal and show what he is capable of. It would be win-win if he were to find his shooting boots; either he will stay at United full of confidence or he will put himself in the shop window for a transfer. Josh Zirkzee is also back in light training but also not yet ready to play. Mason Mount and Chido Obi will also expect to get some minutes.
