, has definitely come into her own with films like Archies, Loveyapa and Nadaaniyan to her credit. Khushi's films may not have made as much of a buzz, but her presence on and off screen is enough to make up for it.

In Lucknow sometime back, the actress shared her candid experiences in an exclusive chat with us, opening up about her visits to Lucknow, her debut film Archies, and her take on industry debates. She revealed why she finds the City of Nawabs so appealing, how she faced her first camera jitters, and why she believes honesty about personal choices matters.
Khushi said she first visited Lucknow with her sister
, who filmed here earlier.
The young actress admitted she did not see much of the city at that time. 'I was here for a couple of days, just spending time on her sets, but Janhvi always has great things to say about Lucknow. She specifically told me that Lucknow's food is amazing, especially the kebabs.'

Comparing her personality with Janhvi, Khushi highlighted her reserved nature. 'Oh yes! I am more of a quiet person and not much of a talker,' she confessed.
She then recalled her nerves during her first on-set experience for Archies, acknowledging that she felt frightened while shooting. 'During the time of Archies, I was really very nervous and scared. But after that movie got over, immediately the nerves went away.
Zoya (Akhtar) was an amazing team captain and taught me and the whole team everything, even the basics like catching the light, hitting the mark, etc. But I would admit that there was a lot of fear while shooting that film.

Even though I have been a part of this industry, but I have always been behind the scenes. As a kid, when I used to be on the sets with my mom and dad, I didn't bother to take any notes of the process as I never thought ki kabhi yeh mere kaam aayega though I wanted to always be an actress,' said Khushi.
Addressing her openness about undergoing cosmetic procedures, Khushi, who is rumoured to have gone under the knife, stated, 'Yes, I have changed my looks.
But everyone thinks I have done some 10-20 things on myself. It is obviously not the case. I don't think going under the knife for your looks is such a big deal. For me, it is not okay to be dishonest with people around me about my looks. There are a lot of impressionable youngsters who follow us on the internet.
Plus, if we don't do something about our looks, then it is a problem and people will judge you for your looks, and if we do something for ourselves, feeding your insecurities, then also people have a problem.
People will say that why did she change herself and did not stick to her original looks? So, you are not going to win either way. I am going to live my life the way I want to. Also, I was not born like this and all actor's groom themselves, and of course vanity is a large part of our life! I care about my looks, but haven't changed every single thing about my face. I don't want to set unrealistic standards of beauty and so I became open about the procedures I had done to look like this,' stated Khushi.

On the subject of nepotism, Khushi acknowledged her privileged background. 'It is important to recognize when you come from a space of privilege and understand that you have an upper hand over other people. And the issue that people have is when we don't acknowledge this fact. People think that because we come from this family, we take things for granted but that is not the case,' she emphasised, adding, 'Of course, things are easier for us, and you can't debate about that.
It is important to acknowledge that and make the most of the opportunities coming our way and prove ourselves. Once we have proven ourselves, no one is ever going to question us. There are so many people who have come from this privileged space and were able to stay for so long because they have proven themselves as good actors. I don't blame people for having an opinion about me right now, thinking I am not good or worthy enough to get these opportunities.
I have had an unfair advantage, but I want to make the most of it now.'
Commenting on her personal life, Khushi stayed tight-lipped about rumoured boyfriend
. 'I am very new to the industry and want my work to be the focus. Of course, I'm not going to sneak around and hide from the paps but it is important to keep your work the main conversation,' she said.

Khushi Mukherjee Says ‘I Feel Lonely', Blames Social Media Trolls For ‘Depression'

Last Updated: Khushi Mukherjee opened up about feeling lonely and depressed due to social media trolling over her bold looks, saying she's judged no matter what she does. Khushi Mukherjee recently became a social media sensation with several sightings and bold outfit choices. While the social media content garners massive views, she often finds herself at the receiving end, as her choices don't sit well with many. Today, she reacted to the massive trolling and how it is causing her depression. Taking to her Instagram story on Saturday, Khushi wrote, 'Feeling depressed by all the social media trolls. I know many of you might still say that if I am depressed, why am I uploading it on Instagram… must be surely for drama. Many might say that why am I explaining to people. But whatever I do, I am being judged… why????" 'I don't have any friends. I feel lonely, and that's the reason I am uploading it here, because I am kinda breaking from within," she further added. While Khushi often faced backlash for her outfits, she was massively trolled when she wore a golden halter-neck outfit that featured a backless cut, a plunging neckline, and a thigh-high slit. While her paparazzi photos instantly went viral, they also ignited a new wave of criticism on social media. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bollywood Street Snap (@bollywoodstreetsnap) However, Khushi responded with unflinching candour in an interview with Viral Bollywood. Dismissing concerns that she looked uncomfortable in her outfit, Khushi said, 'Hawa chal rahi thi — kya main poora udaake show karti? Main usko sambhal rahi thi, main uncomfortable feel nahi kar rahi thi. Phir bhi mera 'oops moment' click ho jata hai." She went on to say that she's always conscious of what parts of her body she is showing and maintains control of her image. But it was her emotionally charged statement that perhaps struck the loudest chord: 'Logon ke andar itna poison bhar gaya hai… kya chahte hain? Main suicide kar loon? Main nahi karungi. Shayad log meri wajah se kar lein, par main nahi karungi. Main yeh sab isliye karti hoon, kyunki mujhe farak hi nahi padta." Meanwhile, her appearances have triggered reactions beyond just trolls. Sasural Simar Ka actress Falaq Naaz indirectly criticised Khushi in a recent video, questioning why the government remains silent on such bold public appearances when it penalises acts like feeding stray animals. Without naming Khushi directly, she asked, 'Aise logon pe penalty kyun nahi hai?" — drawing a controversial comparison that only fuelled the already heated conversation online. Rasha Thadani turns cheerleader for Ibrahim Ali Khan at Sarzameen premiere: Fans ship it!

The Sarzameen premiere held earlier this week in Mumbai was a starry affair as much of the industry turned out in support of the gritty drama. While the film is yet another feather in the caps of leads Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran, it's Ibrahim Ali Khan who has a lot to prove with this production. Rasha Thadani and Ibrahim Ali Khan's moment at the Sarzameen premiere has the internet swooning(Photos: X) The actor made his debut with Shauna Gautam's Nadaaniyan opposite Khushi Kapoor and while the film did blow up, it was for all the wrong reasons. The memes were insurmountable and the critique on the acting chops of the leads, or lack thereof, unending, so much so that producer Karan Johar had to step in, in defense of the duo. Sarzameen however, appears to be a much more honest attempt on Ibrahim's part to establish his credibility as an actor. And his fellow class of debutants are actually all-applause for him! Among the many that showed up for the screening, was Rasha Thadani who made waves with her debut earlier this year in Abhishek Kapoor's Azaad. Item track Uyi Amma and Rasha's pitch perfect performance may have stolen the rest of the film's thunder but it went far enough to establish her as one of the up and coming names to watch out for. Coming back to the screening, a video of her and Ibrahim embracing each other in a warm hug and some animated conversation (presumably of her congratulating him for his work on Sarzameen) have been doing the rounds of the internet and boy are fans shipping this new (on-screen) jodi on the block! The two have reportedly been brought on board for a young romance film for which they have religiously been prepping for. While more details on the film are awaited, one thing's for sure, the chemistry between the leads already appears to be banger. Sarzameen is now available for streaming on OTT.

Sarzameen Review: Prithviraj and Kajol shine, but weak writing and Ibrahim Ali Khan hold this thriller back

In 'Sarzameen', director Kayoze Irani's debut venture into feature films, there lies the seed of an emotionally resonant tale—a story that attempts to blend the complexities of national duty with the fragile intricacies of familial validation. Unfortunately, the execution rarely matches the ambition. The result is a film that looks rich, boasts a powerful cast, and yet struggles to leave any meaningful impact. The plot revolves around Colonel Vijay Menon (Prithviraj Sukumaran), a decorated Indian Army officer stationed in Kashmir, and his son Harman (Ibrahim Ali Khan), a young man burdened by his childhood speech defect and his father's lingering shame. The story takes a tragic turn when Harman is kidnapped by a militant group—an act meant to leverage the release of two high-profile terrorists captured by Vijay. What unfolds over the next eight years aims to be a tense, emotional journey. Sadly, it ends up as a muddled affair. The narrative's heart lies in the theme of parental validation—how its absence can fracture identities. Yet, while the intent is commendable, the screenplay falters in translating this into a compelling arc. The pacing is uneven, and the climactic moments feel more convoluted than climactic, robbing the story of emotional clarity. The final scenes, though open to interpretation, come across as indecisive rather than nuanced. That said, 'Sarzameen' is not without merit. Prithviraj Sukumaran turns in a stoic, commanding performance, convincingly portraying the inner turmoil of a man torn between national pride and personal failure. Kajol, as Meher Menon, matches his gravitas with a restrained but emotionally rich portrayal of a mother stuck between love and loss. Her expressions speak volumes, and the chemistry between the two veterans lends credibility to an otherwise faltering narrative. On the other end of the spectrum is Ibrahim Ali Khan. Though there is noticeable improvement from his debut in 'Nadaaniyan', he still appears more as a stylised figure than a fully formed character. His dialogue delivery feels flat, and when juxtaposed against the heavyweight performances of Prithviraj and Kajol, his inexperience becomes all the more evident. One is left wondering if his role served more as visual filler than narrative necessity. Visually, the film is often breathtaking. Kamaljeet Negi's cinematography captures the haunting beauty of Kashmir in all its glory. However, aesthetic splendour can only carry a film so far. The background score and music by Vishal Mishra and Vishal Khurana is largely forgettable, with no standout moments musically, further flattening the film's emotional peaks. In conclusion, 'Sarzameen' had the ingredients of a gripping action-drama with emotional depth. But its inconsistent tone, underwhelming execution, and miscast supporting lead pull it down significantly. A commendable attempt, yes—but ultimately, one that fails to land with the impact it promises.
