Man Utd stars to make Soccer Aid history as record number of Old Trafford legends sign up for huge celebrity match
This year, Soccer Aid is being hosted at Old Trafford, where reigning champions England will take on the Soccer Aid World XI in the globe's biggest charity match.

But it will feel like a homecoming for many of the top stars on the billing following their careers, which saw them playing at the Red Devils' home for many years.
As many as NINE former Man Utd players have signed up for the event across both teams, not to mention the fans of the club also gearing up to play.
The ex-pros include many stars who have tried their hand at coaching and management, such as Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick, and others who are now household names in punditry, like Gary Neville or Paul Scholes.
That quartet will be lining up for team England, with Rooney also in the managerial dugout.

Meanwhile, the World XI will have their own share of Man Utd greats in their ranks.
Edwin van der Sar, Nemanja Vidic, John O'Shea, and Carlos Tevez will all be taking to the pitch, while legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel will be barking orders from the sideline as the team manager.
The ex-stars will also be joined by a sizeable contingent of celebrity Man Utd fans.
Among them will be businessman Steven Bartlett, content creators AngryGinge and TBJZL, boxer Tyson Fury, musicians Nick Byrne and Dermot Kennedy, ex-rugby star Bryan Habana and actor Noah Beck.

Despite this large contingent of Man Utd support, there will be a notable absence of super fan Usain Bolt.
While appearing in Soccer Aid last year, the legendary Olympic sprinter ruptured his Achilles and was stretchered off the field.

Soccer Aid 2024 broke records as it raised over £15million for Unicef, while it has raised more than £100m since it was founded by Robbie Williams in 2006.
The match will be available to watch for free on ITV1, ITVX and STV on June 15, kicking off at 7.30pm BST.

Memories of Cirencester's Old Station sought for history festival
A history festival is calling for memories of a former railway station, which will be temporarily reopened during the History Festival takes place from 25 October to 1 November, offering talks and activities on local and global will be able to tour the town's Grade-II listed Old Station, which was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and closed in free event on both Saturdays of the festival will celebrate the "golden age of rail," said festival producer Jess Yarrow. Ms Yarrow said most people know the Old Station as "a slightly sad, empty-looking building" but she hopes some will remember using it, on their commute, or even watching it welcome evacuees and soldiers during World War Two."We know that there are lots of people out there who can remember the station in its heyday," said Ms Yarrow. "We'd love to hear stories, we'd love to see photographs, we'd love to have any memorabilia that people have got tucked away because we'll be dressing the station as if it were a station with prams and benches and cases, so anything like that people have, we'd love to know about it." Architect Jonathan Rixon is refurbishing the station to use as his offices, and he will lead the will also be an audio listening project sharing stories of the station, and Cirencester College students have worked with Mr Rixon to create a virtual reality experience of the station during the Victoria Rixon said: "The building holds many hidden treasures, including a boardroom where Brunel sought a meeting space outside London. "It's important to protect our industrial heritage. Darwin Nunez paid tribute to his Liverpool team-mate Diogo Jota by performing his celebration after scoring in a pre-season friendly against Preston. Liverpool were taking to the field for the first time since the tragic passing of Jota, 28, and his brother Andre Silva, 25, in a car crash in Spain on July 3. Tributes were paid to Jota and Silva on an emotional afternoon at Deepdale. Conor Bradley put Liverpool in front in the 33rd minute, with Nunez making it 2-0 in the 53rd minute with a good finish. After finding the net, Nunez performed Jota's PlayStation celebration. He also pointed to the sky in memory of his team-mate. Raul Jimenez, who played with Jota at Wolves, previously paid tribute with the celebration after scoring for Mexico against the USA in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final. Merchandise stalls sold scarves and flags bearing Jota's name. Liverpool confirmed this week that the club's No20 shirt will be retired in memory of Jota. Jota joined Liverpool from Wolves in 2020 and made 182 appearances for the Reds, while he scored 65 goals and provided 26 assists.
