Pakistan clinch T20 series win over Windies 2-1
Pakistan posted 4-189 and then bowled tightly enough to restrict West Indies to 6-176 in Sunday's match.
Pakistan's opening partnership ended when Farhan was out for 74 runs in the 17th over, his 53-ball innings finishing when he hit a low full-toss from Shamar Joseph (1-57) directly to Shai Hope at long-off.
Ayub continued until the last ball of the penultimate over of Pakistan's innings, when he hit a full delivery from Jason Holder (1-34) to Sherfane Rutherford in the covers and was out for 66 from 49 deliveries.
West Indies raced to 33-0 after two overs in reply, taking 16 off the first over from Hasan Ali and 17 in the second from Mohammad Nawaz.
Haris Rauf slowed the run-rate in the third over, which only went for five runs, and then snared the first West Indies wicket when he had Jewel Andrew (24 from 15 deliveries) caught by Hasan Ali in the fifth over with the total at 44.
Alick Athanaze scored 60 from 40 deliveries, sharing further partnerships of 30 with Hope (7) and 36 with Rutherford until he mis-timed a fuller, faster delivery from Ayub and was caught at short thirdman. At that point, West Indies slipped to 3-110 in the 13th over.
Rutherford kept West Indies in the contest with 51 from 35 balls but his dismissal in the last over ended any chance of a comeback win.
Pakistan won the series-opener by 14 runs.
The series was tied 1-1 going into the decider after Jason Holder took four wickets and then smashed a boundary off the final ball of the second game to lift West Indies to a thrilling two-wicket victory on Saturday.
That was the first T20 victory for West Indies in seven matches, a span that included a heavy 5-0 series defeat to Australia, on top of a Test series sweep last month.
Both teams now travel to the Caribbean for a series of three one-day internationals.

Hadouken proves too good again in thrilling Darwin Cup
Trainer Peter Robl summed it up succinctly after tenacious stayer Hadouken made it back-to-back Darwin Cup wins. 'What a race, what a ride, what a horse.' Hadouken ($3.30 favourite) needed every ounce of his toughness to defend his Darwin Cup crown, holding off a spirited challenge from grey Prince Jofra ($19) to prevail by a half-length. In a repeat of last year's race, Hadouken went toe-to-toe with leader Wolfburn but this time was able to shake off his rival much earlier when he hit the front turning into the home straight. Prince Jofra made a late charge out wide but Hadouken rallied under the urgings of jockey Blake Shinn. Robl said the race worked out perfectly for Hadouken. 'He's just gritty, he's tough and that's what we've been saying all week, it will come down to that grind from the 500m,' Robl said. 'Mind you, Hadouken had to keep putting his head out but you get a horse like him and B. Shinn on top, it makes things a hell of a lot easier. 'He's a tradesman-like horse, he'll get there, he'll just grinding, he won't really quicken. 'He's one tough horse to get past.' Shinn said it was a 'very special' moment to win the Darwin Cup for his best mate Robl. 'He had the horse spot on,' Shinn said. 'This is a really big race up here, it feels like a Group 1 race, I'm just proud to be able to do it for him. 'He fought like a caged lion, he presented so well in the yard he cantered to the gates perfectly. 'But that's his best asset, he's really tough. He can absorb pressure and keep fighting in to the end. 'This is a testament to Peter and his training ability and I'm just really delighted for him.' Hadouken has won five times in the Top End and took his prizemoney earnings to more than $530,000. Robl said he was keen to return next year to attempt a three-peat. 'Twelve months is a long time in horse racing but if the horse is good and well he'll certainly be back.

Cricket 2025: Mitch Owen won't change aggressive approach against South Africa
New Australian white-ball weapon Mitch Owen is unsure where he'll bat in the upcoming series against South Africa but is adamant he won't change his aggressive approach after his sensational form in the West Indies earnt him a maiden call-up into the ODI squad for matches in Cairns and Mackay. Owen wowed crowds in Australia with two centuries to help Hobart win the BBL title last summer and was duly rewarded with contracts in T20 leagues around the world before he was given a shot in the Caribbean. The 23-year-old made the most of his opportunity and became just the third Australian man to score a half-century on his international T20 debut, with Owen finishing the five-game series with 125 runs at a strike rate of 192.3. 'I felt like my game was in a very good spot for a while now and I'm filled with confidence when I go out to bat. 'T20 cricket can be fickle. You can get unlucky and hit one up the chute and get caught pretty early on, but the way I bat, I'm pretty happy to take those risks. 'Some days it comes off and some days it doesn't. Luckily, it came off in a few of those games.' While he plundered runs for fun at the top of the order for the Hurricanes, Owen was used in the middle order during the West Indies tour and could be forced to bat there again in the first T20 against South Africa in Darwin on Sunday night. Owen is the only uncapped player in the ODI squad and declared his batting style wouldn't change if he was pushed down the order, with the international rookie simply looking to 'try to swing hard and don't complicate things'. 'If I'm opening the batting or if I'm batting down the order, not much will change. Not much really changes in any form of my cricket. 'I just like to hit the ball. If I think to defend then I go into my shell a little bit and it doesn't work. I'll be keeping that same mindset.' The all-rounder has spent the past few months being exposed to new conditions and challenges in franchise cricket around the world, but nothing compared to the thrill of playing for the national team in front of his parents and partner. 'I definitely felt a lot more nervous than I have the last few months playing franchise cricket,' he said. 'I feel like there's a bit more weight having the Australian badge on. 'I feel super proud to represent Australia, so once those nerves disappear a little bit, I can get to work on trying to hit a few sixes.'
