
Angolan President Visits Grand Egyptian Museum
The Grand Egyptian Museum welcomed Angolan President João Lourenço, who currently serves as the Chair of the African Union, during his official visit to Egypt.
Accompanied by his wife and the Egyptian Ambassador to Angola, President Lourenço toured the museum, which continues to attract global dignitaries ahead of its anticipated grand opening.
The visit was led by Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities, who guided the delegation through key highlights of the museum.
The tour included the main hall, the grand staircase, and the principal exhibition galleries, showcasing the museum's rich cultural heritage and architectural grandeur.
Dr. Khaled also shared updates on the final preparations for the museum's official inauguration, scheduled for July 3.
The opening is expected to mark a major milestone for cultural tourism in Egypt and reinforce the museum's status as one of the most important archaeological institutions in the world.
President Lourenço expressed his admiration for the museum's scale, design, and significance, commending Egypt's efforts in creating a world-class cultural landmark.

FM Visits Burkina Faso to Deepen Bilateral Ties
Nada Mustafa As part of his African tour covering several West African countries, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, will head to Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. This marks the second stop in his tour aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation with African sister nations. During his visit, FM is scheduled to hold a series of high-level meetings with senior officials in Burkina Faso to discuss ways to boost cooperation across various sectors. The discussions will focus on sharing Egypt's expertise in development, capacity building, infrastructure, and energy. Dr. Abdelatty will also meet with members of the Egyptian business community and the Egyptian diaspora in Burkina Faso. The talks will address pressing regional challenges in the Sahel region, especially issues related to security and counterterrorism. Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson Reunite for Film Trilogy "Happy Hours"
Yara Sameh Katie Holmes is set to write, direct and star in "Happy Hours," a new feature film trilogy where she'll reunited with her Dawson's Creek co-star Joshua Jackson. Others in the cast include Mary-Louise Parker, Constance Wu, Joe Tippett, John McGinty, Donald Webber Jr., Nathan Darrow, Johnna Dias-Watson and Jack Martin. Production on the first film kicks off in New York City this summer, with the second and third installments scheduled to follow closely after. "Happy Hours" is described as a story about two people (Jackson and Holmes) navigating their relationship within the challenges of careers and family responsibilities and the pursuit of love, despite life's inevitable obstacles. The pic is a character-driven dramedy that explores the emotional journey of young loves who reconnect as adults, with the connective thread of shared joys, loss, and hope. The movie will be produced by Maven Screen Media and Bond Street Station, in association with Crown Productions and STX Films. Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler are producing for Maven Screen Media, alongside Peter Coleman and Paula P. Manzanedo for Bond Street Station. Annie Herndon will oversee for STX Films, with Jenny Halper, Sophia Pedlow and Jackie Donohoe overseeing for Maven. Known for her work in features ranging from Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" to such acclaimed art house pictures as Ang Lee's "The Ice Storm" and Peter Hedges' "Pieces of April," Holmes has previously gotten behind the camera on indies including "Rare Objects," "Alone Together," and "All We Had," where she also starred. Both she and Jackson were part of The WB's beloved teen drama "Dawson's Creek" for all six seasons. Most recently seen guest starring alongside Natasha Lyonne in "Poker Face" Season 2.
