The rock legend passed away this week at the age of 76, surrounded by his family after bravely battling against Parkinson's disease.
After learning of his death through a phone call, the sisters said they stayed up all night reminiscing about the "loving and funny" Black Sabbath star.
Speaking to the Mirror, Jean explained how they had last seen their brother at his final concert at Villa Park.
She said they got texts from him as he drove down Lodge Road - a street where they used to live close to the stadium.
Jean said Ozzy "couldn't believe" the sheer volume of crowds who were walking down their old road to watch him perform.
She said: "He was blown away. We had an executive box in the stadium, and when I saw the sea of people waiting to see our John I just broke down.
"We didn't really get a chance to chat much because it was such a chaotic visit. But in his last text to me he said he would be coming to Birmingham again.
"He said 'I can't wait to come back'. We were hoping to see him this week."
Jean said that although Ozzy was ill, the news of his death " still came as a shock".
She added: "He still had plans and things he wanted to do. We don't know the details of his death, it's still too early.
Watch touching moment Ozzy Osbourne says his final words to adoring fans just weeks before rock legend died
"It's just so sad. I'm just thankful he died in England."
Over the years the sisters have travelled to see Ozzy in Los Angeles, Malibu and Las Vegas.
In 2019, Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, going public with his diagnosis the following year.
As well as mobility issues, the condition caused him to suffer nerve pain, depression and blood clots.
Jean continued: "We saw him in Birmingham the other week when he and the rest of the band were given the freedom of the city.
"It was upsetting because he could not stand up straight, but he was still our John, still cracking the jokes.
Ozzy Osbourne's career
The singer first pursued his love of music after hearing The Beatles hit She Loves You in 1963, aged 15.
After appearing in a handful of school plays, Ozzy joined Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler in their first group Rare Breed in 1967.
When that band split, the pair reunited in Polka Tulk Blues alongside Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward.
The group later became known as Black Sabbath and went onto shatter the music world with their whining guitar solos, Occult-based lyrics and Ozzy's screeching vocals.
In 1970, the group gained a cult following in both the US and UK after releasing their eponymous first album.
Black Sabbath saw incredible success with hit tracks such as Paranoid but discord in the group saw most of the original line-up leave.
Ozzy himself quit the band in 1978, with a spiral into drug abuse leading to a divorce from first wife Thelma Mayfair, who he had two children with.
It was then he first met a young Sharon Arden, who Ozzy at first wrote off as he believed she would think he was a "lunatic".
But the singer could not be more wrong and the pair married in Hawaii in July 1982 before going on to have three children together, Aimee, Kelly and Jack.
With Sharon's encouragement and help from her music manager dad Don, he began to carve out a successful solo career.
His seminal first album Blizzard of Ozz in 1980 became a multi-platinum success thanks to Ozzy's howling vocals and macabre laugh on hit Crazy Train.
Coupled with the Prince of Darkness' insane tour that saw him bite the head off a live bat, a string of successful tracks followed - cementing Ozzy as a rock legend around the world.
In 1992, the singer announced his retirement but four years later created the beloved annual music festival Ozzfest with Sharon.
Ozzy returned to Black Sabbath in 1999, with the band winning a Grammy for best metal performance for the song Iron Man.
They later earned the same award in 2013 after releasing single God Is Dead? from album 13.
"To us he was our brother, not a celebrity, so it's crazy to see the outpouring of love since his death was announced.
"He had an amazing life and wonderful family in Sharon and the lovely kids."
Ozzy went public with his diagnosis in an emotional joint interview with wife Sharon back in 2020.
The singer told Good Morning America that he couldn't hide his health struggles any longer.
As his health struggles limited his ability to perform, the music legend committed to one last gig in Birmingham to celebrate his career.
His final performance at Villa Park saw him on stage alongside his old bandmates Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward on July 5.
The reunited Black Sabbath lineup played a touching five-song set in a farewell to Ozzy, with the rock icon seated on a giant black throne - as he was unable to stand.
The gig was touted as "the greatest heavy metal show ever," with Ozzy grinning to chanting fans as he thanked them for all they had done for him.

Beloved children's author Allan Ahlberg dies at 87
British writer Allan Ahlberg, author of more than 150 children's books including classics like 'Eat Peach Pear Plum' and 'The Jolly Postman,' has died, his publisher said Friday. He was 87. Penguin Random House said Ahlberg died on Tuesday. It did not give a cause of death. Ahlberg's books introduced generations of young children to reading through simple rhymes, sharp observation and gentle humor. Many were co-created with his illustrator wife Janet Ahlberg, who died in 1994. 'Peepo!' (1981) gave a baby's-eye-view of the world and was interactive in a delightfully analogue way, with peep-holes in the pages to spy the next scenes. 'The Jolly Postman' (1986) was even more inventive, incorporating postcards and letters in envelopes for children to engage with while they followed a letter-carrier delivering mail to fairy tale characters. Penguin Random House said it 'pushed at the boundaries of what it is possible for a book to be.' Ahlberg also wrote books of jokes, including 'The Ha Ha Bonk Book,' and poetry for primary school-age children, including 'Please Mrs. Butler' and 'Heard it in the Playground.' Born in 1938 and raised by adoptive parents in a working-class home in OIdbury, central England, Ahlberg worked as a 'postman, plumber's mate and grave digger,' according to his publisher, before becoming a teacher. He met Janet at teacher training college and the couple's first book, 'Here are the Brick Street Boys,' was published in 1975. Then came ''Burglar Bill' in 1977, about a burglar who steals a baby, and 'Eat Peach Pear Plum' in 1978, with its pages of intricately drawn nursery-rhyme characters. It won Janet the Kate Greenaway Medal for illustration, one of the most prestigious awards in children's publishing. 'The Jolly Christmas Postman' won the same prize in 1991. After Janet died of cancer aged just 50, Ahlberg worked with illustrators including Raymond Briggs and his daughter, Jessica Ahlberg. For adults, he wrote a tribute to his wife, 'Janet's Last Book,' and two autobiographies: 'The Boyhood of Burglar Bill' and 'The Bucket.' Francesca Dow, head of children's literature at Penguin Random House, said Ahlberg's books have been described as 'mini masterpieces.' 'He knew that making it perfect for children matters, and above all that the very best stories for children last forever,' Dow said. 'Allan's are some of the very best – true classics, which will be loved by children and families for years to come.' Ahlberg is survived by his second wife, Vanessa Clarke, his daughter and two stepdaughters.

As a fashion director I was unsure about this season's biggest trend - but now I've nailed the secrets to wearing it well
Daily Mail journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission - learn more I've always been skeptical when 'nightie dressing' starts trending. The underwear-as-outerwear look might be fine for a 20-year-old model strutting the catwalk, but how can lacy, silky, wispy clothes translate to real life? As a fashion director, I've tried it out, and personally, I've found the look unflattering, poorly cut, too bum-skimming and wildly revealing, especially as someone with a 34DD bust. However, when I spotted my favourite influencer of all time, Vivian Horn, wafting around Europe in the Zara asymmetric brown lace dress I finally felt tempted to try again. Nightie dressing is a huge trend for 2025, with celebrities and fashion types alike jumping on the bandwagon, and some of the high street takes look gorgeous – but would they work on my curvy size 14 body? Zara asymmetric slip dress £49.99 Shop I ordered the dress and unpacked it with slight dread, anticipating the deep disappointment I'd feel once I wriggled into it. Except once the dress was on, I didn't feel like that at all. I felt fantastic. This dress is cut to perfection. The asymmetric split hem hangs beautifully, the colour is rich and is hugely flattering on nearly all skin tones. The feel of the fabric completely exceeds its £49.99 price point and the lace trim is thick and well placed. I sized up for movement and length (as a 5ft 10 woman I find Zara mini dresses usually skim the wrong side of my bottom otherwise). I have never felt sexier in a slip dress and I finally understood the hype around 'lingerie dressing' that has been spamming my inbox for the last five years. This elation was short lived as my rather jolly husband came in and was like 'I LOVE THAT, oh wait, is that indoor or outdoor clothes?!'. I explained (very firmly) that it was fashion and that I felt fabulous in it and would wear it in another heatwave or on holiday. Little did I know I wouldn't have to wait that long as I decided it was the perfect thing to wear to my Auntie's surprise 60th birthday party last weekend. However as I came downstairs my mother-in-law had very similar questions to her son including 'Are you wearing actual lingerie?' Both my husband and mother-in-law largely support my fashion choices, but they both pointed out I looked a touch too nude for the UK. Clearly I needed to tone the look down a tad. I decided to try the dress over a pair of brown wide leg trousers that I also recently bought from Zara and immediately loved the full look. The dress hangs beautifully over them and although you could see the tailored waist band it looked nonchalant and stylish. I should also flag another trend I have rolled my big old millennial eyes at is a dress over trousers, so for this look I am really breaking all of my own style rules. But as I came down to leave both my husband and his mother agreed I looked much more ready for the 'outdoors'. How to style the underwear-as-outerwear trend 1. Pick your trousers carefully If you're going to layer a nightie-style dress over trousers, I would advise sticking to a wider cut trouser, or even a tailored straight pair. Not skinny though; anything too slim fitting will throw off your silhouette. If opting for a wide leg a soft flowing material is preferable but have fun with colours, either keep it fully tonal like I did or clash completely. Pale blue slip dress? Try a red pair! 2. Layer over a knit Another top tip if this trend feels daunting is to get a knit in either a contrasting colour or a neutral tone and tie round your shoulders. It gives you a bit more coverage and also makes the slip top or dress feel more casual. I prefer this to wearing a white T-shirt under these items as I feel juvenile and bulky with my breasts rammed under that many layers. Others will love that look though! 3. Keep your footwear subtle (no stilettos!) In order to avoid feeling too dolled up I paired the look with a simple pair of flip flops in the same dark brown. It felt modern and easy and I really loved the look. If you want to wear it for an evening I love the current leather flip flop style heel and this will have the same affect of feeling dressy but not too flash. 4. Go anti-girly with jewellery I also think accessories are key to nailing this trend. It is already a very feminine trend with the soft silks, lace and pretty pastel colours so I would go for a contrast when choosing my jewellery. Chunky gold or even mixed metal pieces stop the look feeling too vintage or girly. 5. Invest in the right underwear These dresses and tops can be particularly hard to navigate with a larger bust so here are my top 3 buys for managing intricate necklines and straps. These stick on bras work amazingly, I have worn them to Summer (read hot and sweaty) weddings where I have danced the night away and my bosom has not dropped. You can also cut them to fit your neckline. Club L Lift and shape bra 4-pack £49 Shop This Skims strapless bra feels as if you are wearing nothing and is so comfortable! Not ideal for cut outs due to its block shape but for flimsy lace straps it's perfect. And finally – the M&S multi-way bra. Adjust the straps into almost any formation and use the clear back strap to avoid anything sticking out at the back. As for the best piece of lingerie-inspired outerwear available right now, here are my top picks... DOEN Kira corded lace-trimmed camisole £278 Shop Nobody's Child Blue Camille Cami Top £49 Shop I love this one and had so many compliments when I wore it. You can even go braless due to the cut of the lace being very supportive! Marks & Spencer Lace V-Neck Midi Slip Dress This amazing dress is fabulous for tickling the trend but entirely wearable, even with a bra. £50 Shop Mint Velvet Cream Lace Trim Camisole Top £79 Shop H&M Asymmetrical satin slip dress £139 Shop ASOS DESIGN lace inserts slip chiffon midi dress in lemon £42 Shop Free People Countryside Maxi Slip £108 Shop Never Fully Dress Petite Mimi Dress £59 Shop By Anthropologie Lace-Trim Bias-Cut Midi Slip Skirt £82 Shop Intimissimi Silk Shorts with Lace £47 Shop
