Newfoundland town evacuated due to ‘extreme wildfire behaviour'
Officials have ordered residents to flee a town along Newfoundland's northeast coast as an out-of-control wildfire burns just two kilometres away. An alert from the provincial Justice Department urges people in Musgrave Harbour, N.L., to leave because of 'extreme wildfire behaviour' in the area. It asks residents of the town of about 950 people to head southwest to Gander, N.L., which is about an hour's drive along a rural two-lane highway. Three water bombers and a helicopter have been dispatched to try to beat back the flames. Meanwhile, residents of two communities roughly 110 km south of Musgrave Harbour, N.L., are still on edge as another wildfire roars nearby. The fire in the Chance Harbour area ignited Monday and encompassed an area of about 16.6 square kilometres as of this morning.

Man, 22, in hospital after shooting in downtown Windsor
The Windsor Police Service is investigating an early-morning downtown shooting that sent one person to hospital. Shortly before 3 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 400 block of Ouellette Avenue, where officers found a 22-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Police said the victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information has been released on the identity of the man. "An initial investigation revealed the victim was shot following an altercation between two groups," police said in a news release. The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit is asking residents and business owners in the immediate area to check their surveillance or dashcam footage between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. for possible evidence. Patio fire at CNE grounds shuts down stretch of Dufferin Street
Toronto police and fire crews have responded to a patio fire at the CNE grounds late Sunday morning. Emergency officials say the fire was reported near Dufferin Street and Saskatchewan Road at around 10:30 a.m. Toronto police say no injuries have been reported at this time.
