A soon-to-be bride's extreme list of bridesmaid demands has gone viral, with one friend stepping down from the role after being handed the 47-point requirement list. The list included strict and costly conditions such as mandatory spray tans. (Representational image). (Pexel)
A Reddit post, shared under the popular thread r/weddingshaming, reveals how the bride, referred to as 'Sarah', blindsided her bridal party with a document titled 'Bridesmaid Expectations & Requirements.'
'I thought it would be like… wear this color, here's the dress I like, maybe some basic timeline stuff,' the bridesmaid wrote. 'Nope. 47 numbered items. FORTY-SEVEN.'
The list included strict and costly conditions such as mandatory spray tans, $400 non-negotiable hair and makeup appointments, and even a ban on posting any event photos without the bride's approval.
But one requirement in particular left the bridesmaid stunned, contributing $200 toward the bachelorette party on top of planning and paying for it.
The final point on the list reportedly read: 'Remember this is my day and your job is to make me shine!'
Feeling overwhelmed, the bridesmaid texted Sarah to say she couldn't commit to such expectations and needed to step down. However, the bride's reaction was emotional.
'She called me crying saying, 'real friends would do anything even if it takes some sacrifice,'' the post revealed.
The incident has since sparked debate online about unreasonable bridal party expectations and the financial burden weddings often place on friends. Take a look at the post:
Many took to the comments section to react.
A user wrote, 'That is gonna live rent-free in my head now.'
Another added, 'Wait... forty-seven items? That's not just demanding, it's downright perplexing!'

'Churuli' controversy: Lijo Jose Pellissery withdraws FB post against Joju George

KOCHI: Two days after filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery and actor Joju George entered into a spat over the release of 2021 movie 'Churuli,' Lijo on Saturday, withdrew his Facebook post that claimed that the actor received Rs 5,90,000 as remuneration for the role. The controversy was triggered by Joju's statement in TNIE's 'Express Dialogues' programme aired on Sunday. In the interview, Joju said he hadn't received any remuneration for the film and had conveyed his displeasure to the producers. Responding to this, the director wrote on Facebook that Joju had received an amount of Rs 5,90,000 for acting for three days. 'Dear Joju, this clarification is in light of the emotional distress caused to the producers, who are our friends. The film, certified 'A', has not yet been released in theatres. The language used was examined by a committee, and a High Court verdict exists. None of us recall misleading Joju during the shoot,' Lijo wrote on Facebook. Actor Joju, on Thursday, had demanded that the agreement signed before taking up the role in 'Churuli' be made public.

BJP backs Diljit Dosanjh amid Sardaar Ji 3 row, says Punjabi actor-singer a 'national asset'

The ongoing row over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Amir in 'Sardaar Ji 3' has led to backlash for actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh, with people calling for boycott of the movie. Some have also demanded for Diljit's Indian citizenship to be revoked. In a post on social media platform X, BJP national spokesperson R P Singh said that Dosanjh was a 'celebrated artist'. However, amid the online flak, the Bharatiya Janata Party has extended its support to Dosanjh, calling him a 'national asset' and a 'global ambassador of Indian culture'. In a post on social media platform X, BJP national spokesperson R P Singh said that Dosanjh was a 'celebrated artist'. He said that the call by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), asking for the singer's Indian citizenship to be revoked, was 'unfair' and 'shockingly disproportionate'. Defending Dosanjh's movie, Singh said it was shot before the Pahalgam terror attack. 'If there is anguish, it can be expressed through a boycott or by urging that the film not be screened in India,' the BJP spokesperson said, adding that 'attacking' Dosanjh's patriotism was 'simply irrational'. 'Just days before the Pahalgam incident, the Indian cricket team played a match against Pakistan. Did FWICE or others object then? TV news channels routinely invite Pakistani guests to boost TRPs. Should those anchors now relinquish their citizenship too?' Singh questioned in the post. He urged the FWICE to reconsider its stance and not to 'weaponise patriotism', while saying that it weakens our moral standing. 'Have they forgotten Uri, Pulwama?': FWICE on Sardaar Ji 3 row While Diljit Dosanjh addressed the backlash for the movie's casting of Hania Amir, saying that these decisions are not in his control, FWICE objected to his working with a Pakistani artiste. The federation has also written to the Government of India, seeking strong action against the film and its makers. 'How have they forgotten Uri, Pulwama, or Mumbai attack or so many other attacks that Pakistan did on our country?' FWICE Chief Advisor and President, Indian Film and Television Directors' Association, Ashoke Pandit, questioned. He further said that Dosanjh was being 'careless about emotions of this country', adding that the singer had not condemned Hania Amir's remarks on Operation Sindoor and India. The movie 'Sardaar Ji 3' was released overseas on Friday (June 27), but will not be available for the public in India.
