About the IB Programme
The International Baccalaureate (IB) programme is an internationally recognized school curriculum designed to promote academic excellence and foster personal development.
The programme aims to nurture open-minded, well-rounded students who are equipped with critical thinking skills and a global perspective.
Originally proposed in the 1960s, the IB programme has grown to become a comprehensive educational system, offering four programs for students aged 3 to 19. Of these, the IB Diploma Programme (DP) is the most popular, offering a two-year pre-university course that students begin in their second-to-last year of high school.
Successfully completing the IB Diploma opens doors to some of the world's most prestigious universities.
Since its establishment in 1968 in Switzerland, the IB curriculum has been one of the longest-running and most globally recognized international educational systems. It is currently taught in more than 5,700 schools across 159 countries. The IB's student-centered approach emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, and accountability, with expert guidance from educators.
The programme's transferability is one of its key strengths. Because it is accepted by schools and universities around the world, the IB offers students a unique opportunity to pursue education on a global scale, with credentials that are recognized internationally.
