Shila Amzah Defends Nabila Huda Following Assault Allegations
Recently, singer Shila Amzah alleged that she was assaulted by a veteran artist. After identifying the individual involved, she urged fans not to drag a particular actress into the issue, clarifying that the actress had no connection to the incident. Here's the full story:
Shila Amzah revealed that she was recently assaulted by a veteran singer during a rehearsal session for a concert. Following the incident, she lodged a police report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters on 10th July. The investigation is currently ongoing, with several witnesses having been called in to provide statements.
The songstress claimed that the attack stemmed from something she had posted on social media. Since then, speculation has swirled over the identity of the perpetrator, with some accusing Datuk Awie, who was part of the concert lineup. However, the mother-of-two later clarified that it was Datuk Amy Search, who also happens to be actress Nabila Huda's father.
Fans have since flooded the actress's social media accounts, urging her to speak out about the situation involving her father. Upon learning of this, Shila Amzah once again stepped forward to defend the 40-year-old star, stressing that she had nothing to do with the incident.
'I've said my piece. Please do not associate [Nabila] with this matter. Another thing — please find the cause of this issue. He was not alone. In the 17 years I've known his name, he's never acted this way,' she wrote on her Instagram Stories. Meanwhile, Nabila Huda has not directly addressed the incident but posted a cryptic monologue on her Instagram.
In the video, the actress appeared to defend her father, saying that he had always been kind, calm and humble, but everything changed when a woman with the title of 'Datin' came into the picture. 'Look at what you've done. Now he has to bear the consequences of your actions,' she said in the clip. According to the captions, Nabila was apparently rehearsing lines for her next project, but the timing of the post could say otherwise. Was it really scripted, or was she indirectly addressing those words to a certain individual?

He thanked his parents for their quiet sacrifices and for being his anchor. He also thanked his sister, actress Chen Yixin, 25, for helping out with the wedding. Actress Lisdawati still keeping telekung sewn by her mother
Lisdawati (right) with her mum. Photo: Lisdawati/Instagram The success of local telekung (Muslim women's prayer garment) brand Siti Khadijah reminds versatile actress Lisdawati of her mother Risda Chalidi, who supported the family by sewing and selling prayer garments. Lisdawati, 47, whose real name is Nisdawati Nazaruddin, 47, said her mother was hardworking and that she and her siblings grew up on the income their mother received from selling telekung sewn by her. "That's why I feel proud of Siti Khadijah's success and feel compelled to support the brand,' she said when met at the recent launch of the brand's latest face design Maharani. The Mitos Cinta Akira drama actress shared that her mother had been sewing prayer garments since she was young, only slowing down after Lisdawati became an actress. "My (69-year-old) mother hasn't been sewing for a long time now. These days, she spends more time resting and studying religion. But I'm still keeping one of the telekung she sewed. I take good care of it and occasionally use it because it's deeply meaningful to me,' she said. Lisdawati, meanwhile, also revealed that her life took a major turn after performing the Haj in 2023, leading her to reflect more deeply on life and spirituality. "When you realise that our future is death, you start to think about this temporary life. So, I need to fill it with things that please God, do good and keep striving to be a better human,' she said. She added that her modest dressing style reflects a continuous effort to draw closer to God, without neglecting her responsibilities as an actress, wife and mother. Lisdawati, who is married to actor and director Fauzi Nawawi, said she remains open to accepting acting offers as long as they do not go against her personal principles. "I'm not limiting the type of roles I want to do, but there are certain conditions, especially when it comes to dressing and physical contact. Thankfully, the production teams have been understanding and cooperative so far. "I'm still working because I feel it's my responsibility to support my mother. This income isn't just mine, it's the family's,' she said, adding she will soon appear in the film Munajat Kekasih , directed by Osman Ali, alongside Mira Filzah and Remy Ishak. – Bernama

Sheila Majid celebrates 40 years in music with mega concert in November
Sheila Majid is celebrating 40 years in the music industry with a mega concert. Photo: Sheila Majid/Instagram Datuk Sheila Majid is celebrating her 40 years in the music industry with a mega concert. The Queen of Jazz is set to perform at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur on Nov 8. 'For three hours, it's going to be a solid Sheila Majid repertoire,' the 60-year-old singer said at a press conference earlier today (July 15) to announce the show. Although she says she and her team are still finalising the setlist – possibly trimming it to two-and-a-half hours instead of three – one thing is certain: it will feature most of her beloved hits, starting with the crowd-pleaser Sinaran. 'Forty years is a long career. I never imagined being blessed with the love and support of fans who have stood by me all this time,' added Sheila. For the concert, she is teaming up once again with her long-time collaborators who are legendary for their work in the music industry including Mac Chew, Jenny Chin and Jennifer Thompson. Also joining in is Steve Ho, an acclaimed stage and lighting designer who has worked with Cantopop stars like Jacky Cheung and Eason Chan. While there is no significance to the date of the concert, Sheila said there's a significance to the venue picked. Admitting she is feeling a little nervous performing on such a big stage, she adds it is more because she always wants to give her absolute best to her fans. "But having said that, when I started performing 40 years ago, Axiata Arena didn't even exist. We had Stadium Negara, Stadium Merdeka and PWTC. "Now, I thought, why not? It's a major milestone, and this feels like the right time and place to do it," she explained, continuing that she only does big concerts when there's a real reason for it. "The last one I did was Big Band in 2023 at PWTC. But I'd already told fans that I'd be marking my 40th anniversary with something special in 2025. So here we are. "Also, I've realised that I now have Gen Z fans too ... and they're excited to attend as well. "So it made sense to pick a bigger venue (that could accommodate everyone)." Tickets to Sheila Majid 40 Years In Music will go on sale July 17, 10am via Tickets are priced between RM268 and RM768. There's also a "Party Zone" ticket priced at RM3,400, which admits four people. Accessible tickets for persons with disabilities can be purchased via WhatsApp hotline 019-595 1931.
