A ute rollover on a quiet country road has left a man dead and a woman in hospital after they were pulled from the wreckage.
NSW Police rushed to the scene at about 3.50pm on Friday to reports the silver Ford Ranger had rolled near Elcombe Rd and Royal Oak Rd near Bangheet, about 90km east of Moree in northern NSW.
The 56-year-old male passenger died at the scene despite paramedics giving him extensive CPR.
The 47-year-old female driver was treated by paramedics and flown to John Hunter Hospital and is currently in a stable condition.
Two other female passengers in the vehicle, aged 9 and 25, were uninjured.
A crime scene was established that was later examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to people driving a green, early-model dual cab with a flat tray that was last seen travelling north on Elcombe Rd towards the township of Gravesend.
Police are urging anyone with information about the crash, or who may have been in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage to contact Moree Police.

Man arrested after nine-year-old girl suffers life-changing injuries in dirt bike hit-run in Sydney park

An 18-year-old man has been charged after a nine-year-old girl was mowed down by a dirt bike. Emergency services were called to Haydon Park on Copperfield Drive in Rosemeadow, Sydney, about 5.45pm on Thursday, following reports the girl had been hit while playing with friends. Police allege a man was riding an unregistered dirt bike across the sporting field when he hit the child and failed to stop, leaving her with serious facial injuries. She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition. The Year 4 student underwent emergency surgery on Thursday night and again on Friday morning. Plastic surgeons have been called in to assess the extent of any permanent damage. Following inquiries by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit, an 18-year-old man was arrested at a home in Ambarvale about 7.15pm on Friday. He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with dangerous driving, causing serious injuries, and failing to stop and help after the crash. Police also confirmed a dirt bike was seized from the home for forensic examination. Earlier in the week, police said CCTV captured several trail bikes tearing through the park before the crash. The rider involved was reportedly seen wearing a white helmet. Deputy Superintendent Grant Healey said the rider stopped briefly after the crash but then rode off without helping. 'The rider would know that he hit the little girl,' Healey said. 'He did stop briefly, had a really brief conversation and rode off without helping the young child.' Elisabeth's family said she was supposed to be at Disney on Ice that evening. 'Now she's having surgery, not knowing the outcome … what's going to happen,' her aunt Brittany Rousell said. The man was refused bail and is set to face Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.

Police still investigating if Bali shooting of Australian man was a botched hit

Singapore/Bali: Bali police say they are still investigating whether an Australian man gunned down inside a luxury villa was the intended target or the victim of a botched hit. Zivan Radmanovic was shot dead by masked intruders in the early hours of June 14 as his terrified wife, Jazmyn Gourdeas, hid under the covers. The couple was in Bali for both a belated honeymoon and to celebrate Gourdeas' 30th birthday, according to her lawyers. Another Melbourne man, 34-year-old Sanar Ghanim, the former partner of Danielle Stephens, who is the stepdaughter of slain underworld figure Carl Williams, was shot in the leg and beaten during the same attack inside the villa and survived. Dudut Rustyadi, a forensic doctor at Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar, said Radmanovic was shot in the chest, stomach, buttock and palm. As is customary in Bali, the three Australians who were detained within days of the killing, and then charged with pre-meditated murder, were paraded before the media on Tuesday in handcuffs, masks and prison-orange T-shirts. Police revealed they would allege Sydney plumber, Darcy Francesco Jenson, 27, organised the rental vehicles and waited in a Ford Ranger outside the villa while Paea I Middlemore Tupou and Mevlut Coskun carried out the killing. Investigators alleged that after the shooting, the two executioners fled on rented motorbikes and later joined Jenson in the car, which was found dumped in the Tabanan area.
