PNM Book Award 2025/2026 submissions open for publishers

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of National Unity, through the National Library of Malaysia (PNM), is inviting local publishers to participate in the PNM Book Award 2025/2026, with submissions now officially open.
In a post shared on Facebook, Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang announced that interested publishers must submit their entries by June 30.
'A golden opportunity for the publishing world! The PNM Book Award 2025/2026 is now open.
'Organised by the Ministry of National Unity via PNM, this prestigious award recognises high-quality works that contribute to knowledge development and the nation's reading culture,' he wrote.
With the theme Perbukuan Wadah Perpaduan Negara, the award features four main categories, namely Children's Fiction, Children's Non-Fiction, Adult Fiction and Adult Non-Fiction.
'Don't miss the chance to make your mark in Malaysia's publishing history. Join now and be part of the nation's intellectual legacy,' Aaron added.

BATU KAWAN, July 18 (Bernama) -- The second day of the National Unity Week (SMP) 2025 at the Batu Kawan Stadium grounds continues with a vibrant showcase of cultural diversity, heritage and national identity. The highlight this morning was a special children's programme, kicking off with the Little Chef Competition, followed by a lively musical performance by Didi & Friends scheduled for the afternoon Adding to the excitement, today's festivities also include Malay traditional cooking demonstrations, traditional games, and talent shows such as the Unity Idol 2025 competition and the Battle of the Bands, providing a platform for aspiring musicians to shine. Tonight, a Unity Partners Certificate Presentation Ceremony will be held to honour the support and commitment of strategic partners who have worked closely with the Ministry of National Unity to promote and enliven the celebration. The ceremony will be officiated by Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang at 8pm, accompanied by Deputy Minister K. Saraswathy. A total of 35 engaging activities are lined up throughout the week until this Sunday, including the Rumah KAMI ethnic house exhibition, Kadazan Dusun and Orang Asli villages, the Malaysia Tanah Airku exhibition, a national museum timeline showcase, and the Malaysia Library Pavilion Carrying the theme "Harmony in Diversity", SMP 2025 also features the Food Unites programme, MADANI sales, local crafts and SME products, a durian fair, Unity Run, traditional sports, e-sports tournament, Kembara Ilmu, Penang Book Festival, Wayang Pacak (outdoor cinema), Open Boria Competition, traditional costume parade, and primary school ethnic dance contest. Visitors can also access on-the-spot services, including traffic summons discounts by the police (PDRM) and Road Transport Department (JPJ), as well as compound reductions by local authorities such as Penang Island City Council (MBPP) and Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP). To ease travel, seven Rapid Penang shuttle buses are available for public use, while AirAsia Ride is offering special discounts for rides to the event venue.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 (Bernama) -- Radio station ERA, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Unity (KPN), has launched the 'Kelas Perpaduan ERA' campaign to promote messages of racial unity through a relaxed and entertaining approach. In a joint statement today, Astro Radio and KPN said the campaign, with the slogan 'ERA Kini Erat' aims to educate Malaysians on the importance of fostering harmony, mutual respect, and tolerance in ensuring peace and shared unity. National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the campaign aligns with the ministry's aspirations to connect with the people, particularly the younger generation, through a fresher, more relaxed, and relevant approach suited to current preferences. "This campaign strengthens ERA's role not just as an entertainment station but also as a unifying voice and the heart of Malaysians. "It proves that entertainment mediums like radio have great power in shaping perceptions, instilling values, and uniting people of various races and cultures," he said in the same statement. The statement also said that the 'Kelas Perpaduan ERA' segment is set to air every Wednesday at 9 am, highlighting and educating audiences on Malaysia's diverse cultural uniqueness. In addition, the campaign videos will be shown on ERA's YouTube channel featuring the station's presenters, such as Nabil Ahmad, Azad Jasmin, Radin Affendy, Isha Norsham, Fazziq Muqris, Syasya Nadira, Haziq Hussni, Muna Bella, Safee Sali and Syazwan Raza. Billboard advertisements will also be placed in strategic locations to promote the campaign's message and ensure it remains close to the hearts of Malaysians from all walks of life. The 'Kelas Perpaduan ERA' roadshow will also be conducted at selected schools nationwide, involving the station's presenters to engage students through knowledge sharing, personal campaigns, and interactive activities related to unity and harmony values.

The event will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Saturday, July 19, at 10.30 am. In a statement today, the Ministry of National Unity said visitors can look forward to a variety of cultural and community-focused programmes. Highlights include the Rumah KAMI ethnic house exhibition, Kadazan Dusun and Orang Asli cultural villages, the Malaysia Tanah Airku showcase, a historical timeline exhibition by the Department of Museums Malaysia, and the Malaysian Library Pavilion. Other key attractions include the Food Unites programme, MADANI sales, handicraft and local product exhibitions, a durian fest, traditional games, an e-sports tournament, the Knowledge Trail, the Penang Book Fair, open-air film screenings, the Open Boria Competition, a Traditional Costume Showcase, and a Primary School Ethnic Dance Competition.
