He urged MNC and its 77 affiliated ethnic associations to actively participate in strengthening the community's economic foundation, including micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives. Ewon said the ministry's key focus under the 13th Malaysia Plan (2026–2030) is to scale up high-impact MSMEs, while also supporting informal and micro entrepreneurs within the community. He highlighted initiatives already in place, such as the BEEP Plus grant for Bumiputera entrepreneurs in Sabah and Sarawak, financing schemes by Tekun Nasional, and the Tamu Desa project by KUSKOP. During the MNC leadership oath-taking ceremony at Wisma Kinsabina, Ewon also pledged a RM100,000 special allocation to support the celebration of the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news? Published on: Sunday, July 13, 2025 Published on: Sun, Jul 13, 2025 Text Size: Jahid assured that the State Government, through KPLB, remains committed to supporting the development of rural entrepreneurship. TAMPARULI: The Mini Entrepreneur Carnival serves as an important platform to promote and market products and services by rural entrepreneurs, youth and the local community. Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Jahid Jahim said the programme offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to build networking ties, receive direct customer feedback and enhance their marketing strategies and market reach. Jahid, who is also Tamparuli Assemblyman, said the carnival drew participation from over 20 entrepreneurs under the guidance of the Rural Development Ministry (KPLB), including young entrepreneurs supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. 'Each entrepreneur brought a variety of products, including local delicacies, handicrafts, health and beauty goods, as well as agricultural and community innovation products. 'The level of participation shows that our local entrepreneurs have immense talent and potential, and they deserve continued support,' he said after officiating the closing ceremony of the Mini Entrepreneur Carnival, organised by KPLB Sabah, at Dewan Tun Hamdan here. Jahid also expressed appreciation to the various government agencies that took part in the event by offering exhibitions, briefings and advisory services throughout the programme. 'The presence of these agencies not only enlivened the event but also provided entrepreneurs with valuable information on financing opportunities, skills training, and technical support,' he said. 'Entrepreneurs are a vital pillar in driving the nation's economy, especially in stimulating rural economic development,' he stressed. He said such efforts must be strengthened and expanded to produce more self-reliant entrepreneurs who can create job opportunities and contribute to the growth of the local economy. 'I hope the mini carnival provides entrepreneurs with meaningful experiences, whether in terms of sales, knowledge or networking,' he added. Jahid assured that the State Government, through KPLB, remains committed to supporting the development of rural entrepreneurship. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news? In fact, he said he was thankful to the State government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor, for approving various development initiatives that have transformed Limbahau. 'Since I was entrusted with the people's mandate to represent Limbahau, much development has been brought into the area – the needs of the people continue to be improved, roads upgraded, basic amenities strengthened and the problems and hardships of the people addressed.
