"I am a big believer in dealing with the cards that are dealt in your hand, while taking control of this situation and making a change," Livers wrote in an Oct. 23, 2024, Instagram post. "Being able to start the rehab process, just yesterday, to get back to 100% is going to be a grind that I'm up for 24/7."
Detroit Pistons forward Isaiah Livers (12) before the game against the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena in Denver on Jan. 7, 2024.
Livers later posted videos on IG of him going through different workouts during the rehab process. He now looks to restart his NBA career with the Suns.
The 6-6 forward spent three seasons with the Detroit Pistons, but was traded to the Washington Wizards on Jan. 14, 2024.
Livers played his last game Jan. 12 against the Houston Rockets. He never played a game for the Wizards.

A second-round draft pick out of Michigan in the 2021 draft, Livers averaged 6.2 points in his three seasons with the Pistons. He averaged a career-high 6.7 points in his second NBA season.
Phoenix has two players on two-way deals in CJ Huntley and Livers. The Suns had three two-way players last season in Collin Gillespie, TyTy Washington Jr. and Jalen Bridges.
Gillespie recently signed a one-year deal with the Suns.

UFC vet Ben Askren breaks silence in emotional first video after double lung transplant, says he 'died 4 times'

UFC veteran Ben Askren spoke publicly for the first time Wednesday since being hospitalized in early June with a life-threatening case of pneumonia, which ultimately led to him undergoing a successful double lung transplant. Askren's wife, Amy Askren, has periodically provided updates on her husband's condition and the process they've endured during his health scare since it was first revealed on June 6. After weeks of sedation and a period in "limbo," Amy's updates indicated that her husband was in need of a double lung transplant. Advertisement Following the successful surgery, a noticeably gaunt and emotional Askren posted a video to Instagram addressing everything that's occurred over the past several weeks. "What's up guys? Have not given you an update in a while. Figured you deserve one. Whenever this is all the way over — I actually just read through my wife's journal because I don't remember anything from May 28 to July 2. No recollection. Zero idea. No idea what happened. We'll kind of go through it all and I just read through my wife's journal. It's like a movie. It's ridiculous. So, I only died four times, where the ticker stopped for about 20 seconds. That's not ideal. I don't think you guys know that. But I got the double lung transplant. I made it out to the other side of it, gaining quite a bit of strength. We're going to use everything again. I was actually on the scale yesterday — 147 pounds. I haven't been 147 pounds since 15 years old. So, I lost 50 pounds in a 45-day period. So, man, that was a battle, although I don't remember most of it. And the thing that was most impactful to me was all the love I felt from everybody. And it was almost like I got to see my own funeral, right? I still remember it 30 years ago when Dave Schultz died and you listen to all these older people, you know, recollect how much they enjoyed him, how much they loved him. And obviously he never got to hear that. I'm sure some people told him [before he died]. So, man, the outpouring of love from the wrestling community was just amazing. It felt so good. And so, you know, I'm more motivated than ever to keep giving back and do what I can and help out the best I can help out. I love you guys. I appreciate you guys. This has been tough, not only on me, but my whole family and my close community. So, I appreciate everything. Hope you guys appreciate the update. And like I said, sometime down the road, maybe Amy and I can detail everything a little more." The 40-year-old Askren began his MMA career 19-0 and most notably held the welterweight titles in Bellator MMA and ONE Championship. In 2019, he was a part of the first and only "MMA trade," which saw him swap from ONE with Demetrious Johnson to join the UFC roster. Askren only fought three times for the promotion, all in 2019, before hip injuries ultimately led to his retirement. Since then, Askren has competed once in a pro boxing debut opposite Jake Paul in 2021, but has largely focused on his coaching career at his Askren Wrestling Academy in Wisconsin.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Boston Red Sox have been without superstar third baseman Alex Bregman for well over a month now as the star recovers from a leg injury. Over the past two weeks, there have been a lot of reports indicating Boston was going to shut its star down until after the All-Star break. But that might not be the case anymore. On Wednesday, Red Sox manager Alex Cora revealed there was a "really good chance" that Bregman suits up again before the All-Star break. This announcement came just a few hours after Bregman's cryptic Instagram post that seemed to indicate he would soon be back on the field. BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS - JUNE 29: Alex Bregman #2 of the Boston Red Sox during a match against the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park on June 29, 2025 in Boston, Massachusetts. BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS - JUNE 29: Alex Bregman #2 of the Boston Red Sox during a match against the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park on June 29, 2025 in Boston, losing Bregman to injury, the Red Sox are 22-19 with a few lengthy losing streaks. During this time period, trade rumors have begun to swirl as well, with some baseball minds believing the Red Sox will look to trade the aforementioned Bregman in the coming weeks. On the season, Bregman is slashing .299/.385/.553 with 11 home runs and 17 doubles in 51 games played. He's been worth 2.9 WAR, which would put him on pace for nearly 10.0 WAR across a full 162-game season. As of now, the Red Sox are on a five-game winning streak ahead of the third game against the Colorado Rockies. If Boston can get its star player back in the coming week, it could be even scarier down the stretch. Adding Bregman back to the Red Sox lineup has the potential to spark the team and turn the front office away from any selling or rebuilding trades before the trade deadline.
