Dar reaffirms Pakistan's support for independent Palestinian state at UN
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering support for Palestine's right to an independent state, emphasising the importance of the pre-1967 borders.
Speaking at the United Nations High-Level International Conference on "The Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution" in New York, Dar highlighted his nation's long-standing stance on the Palestinian issue.
"For over 75 years, the Palestinian people have endured occupation, displacement, and the denial of their fundamental rights," said Dar, addressing the assembled diplomats and officials.

The Foreign Minister condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza, particularly the deaths of over 58,000 Palestinians, calling it "an unconscionable breach of international humanitarian law." He stated that the situation violates United Nations resolutions and the binding decisions of the International Court of Justice.
Dar urged for an "unconditional, immediate, and permanent ceasefire" across Gaza and all Palestinian-occupied territories, stressing the importance of protecting civilians and adhering to international laws.
In addition, Dar called for "full and unimpeded humanitarian access," particularly the delivery of life-saving food and medicines to Gaza. He also highlighted the need for the protection of humanitarian teams working on the ground.

The UN has declined to work with the GHF, which it says distributes aid in ways that are inherently dangerous. Crafting plan US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, who travelled with Witkoff to Gaza on Friday, posted on X a picture showing hungry Gazans behind razor wire with a GHF poster displaying a big American flag and the words "100,000,000 meals delivered". Gaza: Israeli fire kills 22 more
GAZA CITY, Palestinian Territories: Gaza's civil defence agency said Israeli gunfire and air strikes killed at least 22 people on Friday, including eight who were waiting to collect food aid in the war-battered Palestinian territory. Civil defence spokesman Mahmud Bassal told AFP that five people were killed in a strike in the southern Gaza Strip, and four more when a vehicle was hit in the central area of Deir el-Balah. Bassal said Israeli forces killed five Palestinians who were trying to return to the Gaza City area, in the territory's north, after word had spread that troops had withdrawn from there. There was no comment from the Israeli military, which told AFP it could not confirm any of the incidents without specific coordinates for each of them. The civil defence agency reported deadly fire at Palestinians who were seeking humanitarian aid, in a territory where UN-backed experts have reported that 'famine is now unfolding'. Bassal said six people were killed by Israeli gunfire while waiting near northern Gaza's Zikim crossing, through which aid trucks have entered from Israel in recent weeks.

Spain air-drops 12 tonnes of food aid
MADRID: Spain said Friday it had air-dropped 12 tonnes of food into Gaza, which UN-backed experts say is slipping into famine. The mission deployed 24 parachutes, each capable of carrying 500 kilos (1,100 pounds) of food, for a total of 12 tonnes — enough for 11,000 people, said Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares. Spain also has aid waiting to cross into Gaza by road from Egypt, the minister added in a video message posted on social network X, along with a video of the operation. 'The induced famine that the people of Gaza are suffering is a disgrace to all of humanity,' Albares said. 'Israel must open all land crossings permanently so that humanitarian aid can enter on a massive scale.' Spain joins other Western countries, including Britain and France, that have recently partnered with Middle Eastern nations to deliver humanitarian supplies by air to the Palestinian enclave.
