Italy lock Andrea Zambonin has agreed to join Premiership club Exeter Chiefs next season. The 24-year-old has won 10 caps and will move from Italian club Zebre, where his contract expires at the end of the current campaign. He made his Zebre debut in September 2021 and has gone on to make 60 appearances for the United Rugby Championship (URC) side.He will become the third Italian player in Exeter's squad next season, joining fellow forward Ross Vintcent and scrum-half Stephen Varney who is also moving to Sandy Park this summer."I'm excited and honoured to play for a club with such a rich history as Exeter Chiefs," Zambonin told the club website."Playing in the Gallagher Premiership has always been a dream of mine, and it's what's driven me to give my best over the years."Exeter have not disclosed the length of deal Zambonin has signed."We'll have some rotation at the lock position at the end of the season, so Andrea coming in is a very important part of the additions we'll make to our frontline playing group," Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter said."He's young, ambitious and he obviously knows Ross Vintcent very well. For us it's another move forward, bringing in international-quality players in the pack in particular."We want to create a group that has a mix of experience towards the higher-experienced end of the scale. "In recent seasons our experience range has been more on the youth and exuberance side of things, but we'd like to get that balance up a little across the squad moving forward."

Lululemon opens first store in Italy

In a continuation of its international expansion plans, Canadian athleisure giant Lululemon has opened its first store in Italy. Located at Vittorio Emanuele II 24/28 in Milan, the site's launch marks the first time the brand's range of athletic apparel and accessories is physically available to the Italian market. The store spans 5,700 square feet over two floors, within which Lululemon's men's and women's collections are housed, with categories such as yoga, tennis and golf among the offerings. Its interior intends to pay homage to Italy's design heritage, utilising traditional craftsmanship and contemporary materials to formulate the architectural concept. The Lululemon Glide sculptural installation stands at the front of the store, expanding and moving to emulate the properties of fabric. The decision to enter Italy contributes to Lululemon's wider 'Power of Three x2' growth plan, with which the brand is aiming to quadruple international revenue from 2021 levels by the end of 2026. So far, the label operates stores in the likes of the UK, Ireland, Germany, France and Spain, among other key European markets. Akin to these regions, its intention is to build up a community among Italian locals by hosting sports-centric activations throughout the year, including partnerships with local studios, run clubs and ambassador programmes.

Exeter hope to add more attacking talent

Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell says he is still hoping to add some more attacking options to his squad before the season starts. Caldwell has already brought in Reading forward Jayden Wareham on a permanent deal, while teenager Kieran Wilson signed his first professional contract and has featured in pre-season. City have also kept the bulk of their attacking talent from last season, such as Sonny Cox, Josh Magennis and Jack Aitchison."We're always looking to strengthen," Caldwell told BBC Radio Devon after his side's 4-1 pre-season win at FC United of Manchester. "We have one loan space still still available that we'll look to bring in, hopefully before the start of the season - we're still looking for two or three others on top of that."Probably the attacking areas to give us a bit more speed and threat and areas higher up the pitch would be an area I think we can get better." On-loan Brentford youngster Ethan Brierley scored one and supplied an assist for another goal in the win at FC 21-year-old has joined the Grecians on a season-long deal and Caldwell has been impressed with what he has seen so far from him."It's great for any player that's coming into a new club to get a goal and to get an assist because I think that builds confidence," he said."I think you can see the quality that he has."We've got a great relationship with Brentford and he's a player we've watched for a number of years and I think now is the time for him to go and show how good a player he is at League One level."
