Revealed: The new state-of-the-art technology Man United will bring to Old Trafford to help player analysis
The fixed infrastructure will be in use at the stadium and training ground following Monday's announcement that United's stars will continue to wear the Apex 2.0 GPS performance trackers.
Insiders said it will remove the need for portable beacons and enable the club's analysts to monitor the players in action more accurately, saving coaching staff up to 20 hours a week which can now be spent on deeper analysis or providing better feedback.
United said in a statement that the new agreement 'reinforces the club's commitment to implementing best-in-class performance hardware solutions'.
Ed Leng, head of physical performance at United, added: 'At Manchester United, we're always looking to push the boundaries of player performance.
'Wearable trackers are a vital part of that process, and we're grateful for STATSports' continued support and partnership.
'Their Apex 2.0 trackers will enable us to unlock deeper insights across all men's and women's players spanning all training environments, from academy to first team.
'By expanding our fixed infrastructure at Carrington, Old Trafford and Leigh, we'll enhance real-time tracking capabilities helping us to better prepare, develop, and protect our players.'

Public responds as revised York parking charges come into force
Reduced parking charges have been rolled out across areas of York city centre, following public backlash at a previous 500% price hike. York Council has set the new pricing model at £3 per hour in car parks and residential areas outside the inner ring Ravilious, executive member for transport said while the council recognised the previous price increase was "too much in one go", it remained committed to tackling some people have expressed reservations about the new charges, including Bobby Paul, co-owner of Pextons Hardware on Bishopthorpe Road who said he worried "the damage was already done" in the community. Simon Kneafsey from M&K Butchers in Bishopthorpe Road said a balance had to be struck between encouraging the support of local high streets, without making rates attractive to people only visiting the city centre."Although not everyone will be happy with how much it's been reduced to, we've certainly done our best and I think that's a fair price for people who want to park and come shopping," he said."If it was cheaper than that, it might get abused by people who want to park there and wander off into town." Vicky Harris, manager of Millies Fruit & Veg, which backs onto the Bishopthorpe Road car park said the 35-space site had been noticeably emptier since the initial price hike."There's normally people queuing to get spaces - that's customers, that's clients. It's now about half full," she said."We all know that things go up but... it's just not enough, and I think it's created permanent lost custom because people aren't aware it's slightly come down." Using the car park to run errands, Fulford resident Josh echoed Ms Harris' sentiments, and said he had been able to find a space easily. "If it's designed to get people to not use the car, looks like it's working. It used to be busy in here and now it's nearly dead," he said."It's gone up a lot - I'm still paying it, but I'm not best pleased. They need to strike a medium I think." The council previously said April's hikes were needed to deal with traffic issues and to help balance council added that adjustments were made after the local authority had listened to the public's concerns."While we remain committed to tackling congestion and making it easier for everyone to get around, we recognise some of the uplift in charges in areas where they were previously very low has felt too much in one go," she said. Telford laundrette ordered to turn machines off overnight
Operators of automatic washing machines at a supermarket have been told to switch them off overnight to protect the amenity of nearby modular laundrette unit, next to the entrance of Morrisons in Lawley, Telford, was installed earlier this year, with a retrospective application at Telford and Wrekin Council said the machines should be switched off between 22:00 and 07: also gave temporary planning permission for one year for the unit, so that the effect of it could be assessed. Marcus Rashford has already approved Man Utd team-mate Alejandro Garnacho's next club
Alejandro Garnacho is one of four Manchester United players who have been told to find new clubs and the Argentine has been linked with a move to Aston Villa - a club where Marcus Rashford had success on loan Marcus Rashford may have already endorsed Alejandro Garnacho 's next club after he sang the praises of Aston Villa following the end of his loan spell last season. Rashford excelled for Villa on loan from Manchester United for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign as he scored four goals and registered five assists. The England star became a first team regular under boss Unai Emery and starred in the Champions League for the Midlands club, but was forced to cut his spell short after suffering an injury during their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City. Villa ended up deciding not to take up their £40million option to sign Rashford permanently and he has since returned to United to train away from the first team squad - forming part of four players who have been told to find new clubs. One of those players is Garnacho, who - like Rashford - fell out with manager Ruben Amorim last season. Garnacho was irked when Amorim dropped him for the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham and suggested he could leave this summer. And according to the Daily Mail, Villa are now interested in taking Garnacho to Villa Park as a replacement for Rashford - though Chelsea and Tottenham are also keen. When Rashford left Villa, he waxed lyrical about the support the club had gave him, which appears to be a solid approval for his team-mate Garnacho to follow in his footsteps. Writing on Instagram after the end of his loan deal in May, he wrote: "Just a message of thanks to everyone here at Villa for what has (injury aside) been an incredible few months for me. "It is a really special club and I appreciated the way Villa fans embraced me with open arms from 1st minute on the pitch. Manager, team, and coaching staff have all been brilliant. "I know it is a huge disappointment not to have made the Champions League place which everyone worked so hard all season for but I know this club and team will come back stronger." Garnacho has played 144 times for United since coming through the youth system in 2021 - scoring 26 goals in that time. Despite his struggles last season as United finished 15th, Garnacho actually enjoyed arguably his best campaign from a personal standpoint as he scored 11 goals and assisted a further ten.
