
Teen motorcyclist taken to hospital after crash closes road
Emergency services were called to the A96, between Nairn and Forres at Wester Hardmuir, at around 2.40pm on Thursday after a crash involving a black Yamaha RZF125 motorcycle and a white Kia Niro estate.
The rider, an 18-year-old man, was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.
There were no other reports of injuries.
The road was closed for around an hour while enquiries were carried out.
Road Policing Constable Ewen said: 'Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and hasn't already spoken to officers to contact us.
'I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.'

Elderly man in critical condition after being hit by car while on mobility scooter
An elderly man is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car while on his mobility scooter in Airdrie. The 84-year-old was on Gartlea Road around 4.50pm on Friday when he was struck by a Vauxhall Mokka being driven by a 43-year-old man. Cocaine worth £3.7m found during police raid at property
Cocaine worth £3.7 million has been recovered from a property in Glasgow. Police executed a warrant at an address on Milnpark Gardens in Kinning Park on Friday, where a large quantity of cocaine was discovered. Motorcyclist, 56, dies in crash with car and van
A motorcyclist has died following a crash involving a van and a car near Tyndrum. The 59-year-old motorcyclist was riding a Suzuki DL150 a short distance to the south of where the West Highland Way crosses the A82 south of Tyndrum around 11.30am on Friday before the crash with a Ford Puma car and Volkswagen Transporter van. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and no one from the other vehicles was injured. The road was closed for nearly nine hours while investigations were carried out. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch. Sergeant Louise Beale, of the Road Policing Unit in Stirling, said: 'Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died. 'Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I would urge anyone with information who hasn't yet spoken to us to get in touch.
